Tom Hiddleston confirmed for London Film Festival premiere for ‘High Rise’

moss hiddles

Good lord, I have to give it up for Elisabeth Moss. Not only has she quietly become one of the best and most interesting actresses of her generation, but she consistently picks projects where she’ll have handsome costars. The above image is a just-released still from High Rise. That’s Tom Hiddleston – wearing war paint? – nuzzling Moss. Girl, GET IT. Even though Moss is a Scientologist, I would be interested in seeing her hook up with someone like Hiddles.

Anyway, there’s some additional Hiddleston news. High Rise keeps getting added to prestigious film festivals. Huzzah! High Rise will be going to Toronto this month, and then in October, High Rise will get a gala premiere at the BFI London Film Festival. The BFI LFF just announced their line-up with a slew a attendance confirmations, and Hiddleston is on the list. As is Benedict Cumberbatch (promoting Black Mass), Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation) and Michael Fassbender (Jobs). The LFF’s organizers are doing God’s work as far as I’m concerned. That’s a lot of hot-dude in one week, you know?

Do you think Elizabeth Olsen will be on Tom Hiddleston’s arm during all of his promotional work this fall? I doubt she’ll walk the red carpet with him at TIFF, but maybe LFF? Hm…

And the baiting of the fans over theo continues….

  2. meme says:

I hated the book and couldn’t finish it so I’m not seeing the movie. Hiddleston does nothing for me anyway but I’ll take him over Cumberbund.

    • NUTBALLS says:

Meme, do as I’m doing and just enjoy feasting on the delicious still shots. This is quickly becoming my second favorite Tom incarnation after Coriolanus.

His hair is looking fabulous in these photos.

  3. Insomniac says:

I’m not that into Hiddles, but I sure wouldn’t wish any Co$ cultists on him. Yikes.

  4. j.eyre says:

Kaiser – I don’t know whether to lay at your feet in gratitude for The Garner Method (TM) or that top photo.

    • NUTBALLS says:

      WarPainted PuddleTom… huzzah!

    • Lilacflowers says:

That top photo does raise the temperature a bit, doesn’t it? Tom has promised we can spend most of the afternoon re-enacting it on the verandah.

      • hermia says:

I had my friend go on purpose to the tube station to get the Standard just for that photo. Gorgeous.

    • NUTBALLS says:

      Will the paint be flavored??

      • Lilacflowers says:

We’ll be using orange chocolate sauce. Colin is having the cook make several batches now

And I will be ripping that shirt off him. So it doesn’t get all smeared with the chocolate I rub on his chest

      • NUTBALLS says:

Lilac, how did you know my favorite flavor with chocolate is orange! I also like chocolate with lemon, lime, cayenne pepper…

      • A.Key says:

        LOLOLOLOLOLOL

        Nutballs <3

      • NUTBALLS says:

Lilac, it might be a good idea to keep a sick bucket nearby. Some of us are prone to get carried away with the painting and the licking and as you know, Tom has very long appendages.

  5. Miss Jupitero says:

I really like Elisabeth Moss and continue to be baffled that she would have anything to do with CO$. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. PuddleTom, with his ducks, Seneca, and Alain De Botton books…. can’t picture him going near it.

That said, love that picture and I’m glad to be getting news about all of these shows.

  6. Lilacflowers says:

What a lovely present for Allston Christmas! *waves to fellow Bostonians* But That picture has me so confused! Because it is evidence of plot changes from the book. But I’m so excited for this movie, which doesn’t have a U.S. Distributer yet.

Anyway, morning snacks are being served here on the veranda for those calmly avoiding the fray and the vending machines down in the meadow are fully stocked for those participating in the fray. The plums and melons are particularly lush.

    • NUTBALLS says:

I thought the same thing… plot twist. I’m counting on the Hiddlestoners to gif the sex scenes for the delight of us D’flies NOT watching the movie.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Uhm, if the film is anything like the book, most of the sex scenes involve incest or rape.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Well, if he gets it on with Sienna and Elisabeth, I’ll be fine with that.

I would hope that the incest and rape scenes would NOT be happily reproduced all over the interwebs. Not sexy. Not one bit.

      • jammypants says:

Tom’s upcoming films seem drenched in sex. He seems to have more than 1 partner for each film!

      • Lilacflowers says:

@jammypants, and at least two of those partners may be relatives.

      • et alors says:

Since there’s no relationship between Helen Wilder and Laing in the book and Alice Frobisher isn’t listed on IMDB’s cast of characters, there’s a theory being thrown around based on the top picture that film Helen is an amalgamation of Helen and Alice, so maybe there’s no incest in the movie?

      • jammypants says:

Boy can shake things up in those roles! Incest, older ladies, married ladies, much younger ladies, possibly multiple ladies. Only thing missing is a male screen partner from his list 😛

In the High-Rise book, Laing doesn’t rape anyone, but Wilder and Royal do.

      • Miss Jupitero says:

I read the book and I am already fuzzy on the plot. Who is Moss playing again? What is the plot twist?

Any chance they might be downplaying the violent incest part?

      • jammypants says:

Moss plays Helen Wilder, wife of Richard Wilder, the documentary filmaker, played by Luke Evans.

      • Lilacflowers says:

In the book, Laing has no interaction with Helen Wilder, Moss’s character, and her kids, other than seeing them in the pool area and riding an elevator with them early on. His character interacts early on with Sienna Miller’s character and two other women: Eleanor and Alice, neither of whom are listed on IMDB

      • NUTBALLS says:

Writing in an affair between Helen and Laing would make sense after Wilder leaves her and the kids.

I really hope there’s no incest… it’s so awful in real life, I just can’t stomach it for the sake of entertainment.

      • jammypants says:

        @nutballer,

If HR skips the incest storyline, I am doubtful the same would happen for CP 😉 I am very curious what liberties Amy Jump took to adapt to screen.

    • scone says:

Here’s a question. Do you think the makeup artist deliberately applied that paint in just that manner in order to make us melt?

Because I feel like she needs an Academy Award for that work right there ^^

BTW Lilac I have been reading these threads for a year and have only just got brave enough to post – you always make me laugh!

      • Lilacflowers says:

Why, thank you, Scone. Welcome and love the name. Yes, that’s definitely a makeup job worthy of an Oscar nomination

      • Velvet, Crushed says:

I am relieved to know I am not the only finding myself in a melting state.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Colin and the cook are observing Taco Tuesday and are setting up Make Your Own Taco stations for lunch. I have asked them to stop singing the song from the Lego Movie.

  7. koko says:

Barely made it through the book, not planning on seeing the movie but his look for the film is one of my favorites, minus the 70’s suits.

I am wishing and hoping that THEO appears everywhere together this fall and into the spring.
    Let there be LOVE.

    • NUTBALLS says:

koko, you insufferable romantic you. Since Lizzy has nothing on her IMDB for the foreseeable future, I suspect you’ll be seeing plenty of her this fall, promoting the hell outta ISTL & THEO.

    • Lilacflowers says:

She’s being honored as a rising star at the Deauville festival on the 9th and then ISTL premieres in Toronto on the 11th so she’ll be rather jet-lagged at TIFF

      • NUTBALLS says:

Lilac, let’s think about this for a second. If you derived more than a moderate amount of pleasure from shagging the PuddleTom, do ya think a little jetlag would keep you from attending TIFF two days after Deauville? Surely the Hiddleconda would be worth the effort, dontcha think??

Theoretically speaking, of course — since neither have confirmed anything directly.

But you know my opinion on this… they at least want us to think something’s going on, based on that pap walk in July.

Also, not attending TIFF is a lost opportunity for PUBLICITY she needs to get noticed this Oscar season. It’s not like she busy working or anything…

      • jammypants says:

If I was jetlagged, you could be Tom Hiddleston, and I won’t budge. I would be out solid for 15 hours.

And the shade on Olsen…girl isn’t doing anything wrong and putting her down, however subtly, quite frankly, comes off as misogynistic and petty to me. Sorry, even if what she is doing is for PR, no one is physically harmed from the supposed vanity or undernourished ego. No women seen with Tom seems to be treated with dignity and has every move and motivation scrutinized. Lets pick them apart and pin it all on PR and the need for attention. All her pap walks before Tom was involved in the picture were harmless, but now, somehow, they are for “publicity”. I’m sure they have their own individual images to keep, regardless of whether they are together or not. To this day, I never got the negativity thrown at Sophie Comet when Benefiber made contact to earth with her. So what if she is pretentious? Much crime. So offensive. Tear ha down.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Jammy, you can just lay there and let Tom do the work. As people-pleaser, you’re bound to benefit from his tender loving care, perhaps even stay conscious enough to remember how good it felt. 😉

ETA, I was pointing out that if she’s not working right now, it would make sense for her to be at TIFF and any other festival ISTL is appearing at. It’s good publicity, period. No misogyny intended.

      • jammypants says:

@nutballs, Tom can do the work…if I’m even close to consciousness to enjoy it 😛

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Nutballs, she is confirmed for TIFF attendance. I was merely pointing out that she will be jet lagged, not raising any possibility that she wouldn’t appear at TIFF. At Deauville, she’s doing a photo call in the afternoon and a tribute thing in the evening. I suspect she’ll be exhausted by the time she hits Toronto. I always find the time change worse coming west. She has a career to promote, she’ll be there.

For the rest of that, I’m staying on the veranda with some lavender lemonade. I’m not taking part in that fray.

      • NUTBALLS says:

That was my point. If she has a movie to promote and ISTL is being positioned for Oscar consideration, I would expect her to be at all the festivals and premieres, especially if she’s not filming. No shade intended.

Her work in ISTL could lead to better roles if everything since MMMM has been mediocre parts, from what I’ve heard. Now’s the time to capitalize on any buzz she’ll get for Audrey.

      • jammypants says:

@Nutballs, this part made me feel the shade:
“It’s not like she busy working or anything…”

but my apologies if read your post wrong *passes Nutballs lavendar lemonade from Lilac’s tea tray*

      • Madly says:

It is not misogyny to point out she isn’t working for the rest of the year. It is not misogyny to point out that she is using this whatever to elevate her status for an award season push. Check out the articles on the film, they are all about tom. Her whatever it is with him is the only thing that is getting her name out there right now. It is not misogyny to point this out. It is how you play the game and everyone does it.

Calling her out more than him would be misogyny. But I think most people here have called them both out. Certainly they have both been willing participants thus far.

      • NUTBALLS says:

*sips from glass of lavender lemonade*

Thanks Jammy, I see how you could have read it that way. I’m no Lizzy hater, even if I side-eye the pap walk or find her dull in interviews. She should be getting better roles, based on her cult movie, which I loved.

      • jammypants says:

Madly, my criticism doesn’t apply to everyone, obviously. But the subtle art of shade cannot be denied the past few threads. I quote/paraphrase:

        – “She’s dim, dumb”
        – Never finished her education (she did)
        – “Minimally talented”
        – “this is PR”
        – “magnetic charm of porridge”

None of which I saw her accused of when she was not rumored with Tom. Just look at this thread for example: “Elizabeth Olsen wears Elie Saab in London for ‘Godzilla’: lovely or cheap?” or any post further back. Then look how the comments change once Tom’s name enters the picture in later posts. So yes, there is some hating going on and lets not go into denial about it.

I’m not even a Lizzy fan or defender. I just hate it when women are put down, subtly or no, for being attached (whether in truth or rumor) to an adored actor (see Cumberbatch and Fassbender). They’re all somehow starved for attention according to the remarks seen. It’s quite an unfair assessment imo.

@Nutballs, she had a few sleepers but I think her movie choices are becoming more varied and interesting. Godzilla was a sort of miss for me, but I thought she did pretty well in Age of Ultron. She was very natural in MMMM.

      • Madly says:

@jammy, are there some jealous comments, sure. I wasn’t denying that. But I don’t think any critism of a woman is misogyny. I think she plays the pr game, but I think they all do. So, the pr example you gave as shade seems silly to me when it is a part of her job. She isn’t established enough to not do things to get herself some attention. Like I said, they all do it. Some are just more subtle at it than others. The out there date night these two had screamed set up and was gloriously awkward. Even if they were in a relationship, doesn’t mean that date wasn’t a set up. Some may try to use it as shade, but it doesn’t mean they are wrong.

      • masy says:

jammypants , Nobody cared about her because she’s an ordinary dim dull product of hollywood’s nepotism. But she’s with Tom now. So people start to care. I’m always thinking she has personality and charm of a dead rat and I’m not going to like her because Tomas’s putting his dick into her now.

      • jammypants says:

@madly, fair enough, but we can agree to disagree. The PR as shade is shade in relation to my criticism, derived from jealousy, when on any other normal circumstances, wouldn’t warrant the animosity given towards her (maybe not on this site as it’s more snark/shade), but from many other places (trashy gossip sites, twitter, tumblr). It’s primitive. You are with my fantasy man, so I will tear you down. It’s not because she is a woman who can’t be criticised, but it’s because she is a woman who was rumored to be dating Tom and the following put down of her character for that reason that’s misogynistic.

“I think she plays the pr game, but I think they all do. So, the pr example you gave as shade seems silly to me when it is a part of her job. ”

Of course PR is part of their job. I said this above: “I’m sure they have their own individual images to keep, regardless of whether they are together or not.”

But to use it as a form of denial of the relationship (seriously there is still no confirmation) and/or to put a negative spin to her image IS shade.

@masy, nobody cared because she was not on people’s radars (even as an Olsen because, really, no one cared back then), not because she is “an ordinary dim dull product of hollywood’s nepotism”. She hopped onto people’s radars (very minimally) through MMMM, then got more exposure as Scarlet Witch. And now, as you said: “she’s with Tom now. So people start to care”. From a few things I’ve put effort in to read or watch on her, I find her quite alright. She’s culturally unaware, I give dissenters that. She started small. I think she’s moved beyond the nepotism (I personally don’t feel that’s the case but to each their own), and the girl really made a career of her own. She wilfully chose to go to school and work on her craft and only began her career once she is an adult in her 20s. The twins have shyed away from the spotlight for years. I’ve only seen her in 4 films, but I find her very watchable and with decent talent. But hey, no one said anyone has to like her.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@jammy, come away from the meadow and have a nice beverage on the veranda.

      • icerose says:

        jammypants
My feeling as well re unnecessary mysogeny . -So she got together with Tom after woking with him on an intense film-nothing uncommon in that and has a reputation as the best actress of the 3 sisters. It barely registers on my radar.

    • et alors says:

      Eh, wrong spot.

    • masy says:

jammypants, Do you know that Kristen Stewart was critically acclaimed till Twilight? So what? You don’t need to be good actor to play in movies. She isn’t a writer, a painter, a singer or a designer -she would need to have the special skills and talents then. But to be an actor don’t need that. If dogs and babies can be good actors then anyone could be mediocre at least- as Olsen is! She is mediocre at best.

  8. Madly says:

Most of the articles on ISTL have been about Tom, the only news on EO has been her relationship with him. Something to consider. That may change when actual reviews come out, but so far, she has not been the focus of the PR for this film from industry/trade websites.

    • NUTBALLS says:

I am interested in seeing how much attention she gets for Audrey once it’s been reviewed by *proper* film critics and how they respond to Tom’s performance.

But, truth be told I’m stoked that it’s Sept and movies I’m dying to see are gonna be hitting theatres soon.

Has anyone in UK seen 45 Years? I’m really looking forward to that.

      • Grace says:

It’s been such a long wait. *excited*

      • icerose says:

one hours train to London Film festival-could not be better if i can get a ticket-i managed one for OLLA when Tom was there last year and even walked the red carpet.

      • icerose says:

annoying for me but i am already booked into Fenelli and the king wIth Mark Rylance on that night. High RISE is on at the BFI. High Rise is on at 10 and it would mean rebooking out train tickets for the third time so i guess instead I will have to just indulge in some early illicit morning nooky this year and then off to see my beloved Mark Rlance

  9. Lilacflowers says:

Does anyone know if they will be releasing a soundtrack album for ISTL?

    • Dara says:

I think so – although I can’t find anything official from Sony. A few musicians and technicians have referenced recording sessions for the soundtrack on their social media. Not sure if that was just for filming, or if it will be released as an album. I’m thinking the latter is pretty likely though – it would be a nice tie-in for Sony’s music division. I’ll admit Hank’s style of singing is not my cup of tea – I’m hoping they tone down the yodel and twang a little for modern ears, or it will be something I skip.

      • Lilacflowers says:

My boyfriend will be all over it. And he won’t be alone. The soundtrack for “O Brother, Where Art Thou” did really well

      • Dara says:

In my wildest dreams, it’s a two-disc set (Do they do those anymore, or is it all about iTunes?). Disc One is Tom as Hank singing the tracks from the film and disc two is a collection of other artists (Friends of Rodney?) doing their own updated versions of Hank songs.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        That would be fantastic.

    • et alors says:

I think Rodney Crowell may have posted about working on the soundtrack?

  10. Heather says:

    Looking forward to High-Rise! 🙂

I can imagine some tabloids gearing up and getting their “Elisabeth”s confused already. Oh glorious promotion time, I am both scared and excited. lol

  11. browniecakes says:

Brie Larson posted a picture of herself at the gym in a Legendary tee getting in shape for the monkey movie. Let’s imagine together our TH getting in shape as well with tight shirts on the red carpet showing new found muscle tone. I need some cold water from the vending machine.

    • Heather says:

I have a sudden need for pictures of Tom in the gym.

    • Lilacflowers says:

He’s been toned for The Night Manager; he needs to maintain for the monkey movie. Yes, we need gym workout pictures

      • Ankhel says:

I can’t deal with gym pics, those workout pics from Corolianus were bad enough. *Sighs happily.*

    • NUTBALLS says:

Is it just her in the gym or is Tom there too? I loved the bits from Coriolanus. I just realized I haven’t seen any Tom pics since the date with the potted plant.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Brie Larson tweeted the gym picture TO him and he replied that he would see her and the director soon, so no, he’s not in the gym with her. The most recent pictures of him floating around have been of him reading in a cafe by himself, him walking, and him attending a play starring Mark Gatiss. There have been tweets in the past month about him being seen walking around London by himself

      • Heather says:

I was thinking the same thing, Nutballs. It has been quiet about town in the last couple of weeks where the Peeping-at-Tom’s have been concerned. No one following him along the street, no mentions of anyone bumping into him on the tube or seeing him out for his coffee dates with his book.

The only recent mention of him was last week when they had the special cast and crew screening of High-Rise, and no one thought to take a selfie with the man. Disappointing. lol

It is all starting to feel like calm before the storm to me. *gulp*

      • jammypants says:

@Lilac, What pictures? I need them for reasons.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Jammy, Torilla had the pictures of him after the Gatiss play. Not sure where I saw the one of him reading in the cafe.

Yes, he’s been very calm and quiet lately as he’s been focusing his attention on keeping me happy while I prep for a trial and go through my fittings at Alexander McQueen for the antler dress I’m wearing to the High Rise premiere. He has been so very sweet and helpful. He hasn’t even left my side to see Hamlet Pushes 40.

After my trial ends, it is off to TIFF and all about him again.

      • browniecakes says:

There’s an internet rumor that he attended the Cap 3 wrap party with EO but that was at a small pub in Germany and I highly doubt it.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Yes Heather, the calm before the Tommy Tsunami. Lordy, I’m not gonna get anything done after next week… damn him.

It would have been good timing for a family wedding or a trip to Bora Bora. The man’s could be pinballing between festivals, premiers, awards shows and SI filming for months.

ETA: He wasn’t spotted attending Hamlet pushes 40?? Hmmm… that makes me wonder if he’s out of town. They both go to see each other’s theatre performances when they’re available.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Browniecakes, everyone who attended tha CA3 wrap party in Leipzig signed a program for the restaurant. He didn’t sign it

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Nutballs, Hamlet was in previews until last week. Why go to an unfinished production? The lizard otter didn’t attend Coriolanus until late in the run. Hamlet Pushes 40 is open for another month and a half

      • browniecakes says:

I didn’t see any confirmation that even EO was at the Cap 3 wrap party. Maybe she is busy being Tom’s spotter the gym! Kidding.
We’ll see plenty of THEO whatever that relationship is at these endless festivals. Her team would be pushing her out front for an Oscar too if her buzz is good and the part is big enough.

      • et alors says:

@jammypants, here’s the one of him reading in the cafe. I didn’t search for the one of him walking because it’s from behind, and there’s not much to it.

        https://twitter.com/lidia1956/status/628923419300622337

      • Lilacflowers says:

@BrownieCakes, Olsen did not attend the CA3 wrap party in Leipzig.

      • Heather says:

@Nutballs, he is still in London – a girl on twitter did actually bump into him today (it’s like she read my mind!).

        https://twitter.com/jiiniih/status/639212455911157760

So there you are, minding your own business, having some afternoon tea, walking in the rain, and a random Tom Hiddleston appears. Who do I have to call to make this happen for me?? lol

      • TotallyBiased says:

Nutballs and Heather–this is the girl on her walk in the rain. If you can get someone to translate the Korean, it talks about her afternoon and where she ran into Tom Hiddleston. I stopped to try reading it because I can recognize Hiddleston in Korean, but the machine translate with Google does funny things to it! I have to get my friend who reads Korean much better than me to look at it.

      • Dara says:

What was that, about two weeks (maybe a little less) without someone tweeting out a sighting of a wild Hiddles roaming in his native habitat? He must have been either out of town or holed up at home binge-watching Game of Thrones.

It’s going to be a busy September/October y’all. I hope everyone has been hydrating, eating well and getting plenty of sleep in preparation for the deluge of Tom-tastic yumminess we’re all about to witness.

  12. Dara says:

I Saw the Light is closing the Vancouver Film Festival.
    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/john-crowleys-brooklyn-open-vancouver-819082

Looks like the date conflicts with BFI, so likely no cast attending – but it is close enough to me to possibly consider a road trip.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Well, EO and some of the other cast may attend. They aren’t promoting two festival films at once.

    • icerose says:

they are live re broad casting Coriolanus again this month-which suits me fine- i have a Benny live broadcast ticket as well but it is more about curiosity–it did not sound my thing at all and i ended up giving my live ticket it to a friend,s daughter when i could not go.She loved it.To be honest a Iot of it seem to have been pinched from the Globe version with Rylance just not as flashy .My daughter just bought a BFI membership so i may get to see Tom in Hight Rise which puts me over the moon..The combination of Wheatly and High Rise is a perfect combination for me.He is getting a lot of festivaLs with HR and Ii saw

      • Catherine says:

Ice rose, don’t get your hopes up. The BFI memberships are over subscribed and their booking system is awful.

    • Dara says:

Sh#t, I just noticed Vancouver is screening High-Rise too. Gah, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to see High-Rise, but now I may not be able to resist.

Does High-Rise have a US premiere date? All the festivals that have it are outside the U.S.

  14. Leah says:

Just when I was done with him. He pulled me back in. Again.

  15. TotallyBiased says:

Oh MY, Dr. Laing. You sure do fill out a shirt well. Here, let me just get that paint for you (d*mn you, Lilacflowers, for putting the idea that it’s edible in my head!)

  16. A.Key says:

I don’t care about the film, but damn, that top photo is GOOD.

    • Ankhel says:

He looks hot as fire. Moss is very pretty too, maybe anarchy is good for your skin? There’s a new idea for a beauty salon!

  17. Ginger says:

OOPH! Those are some lovely, lovely stills! More Tommy please!

  18. Lilacflowers says:

The Lego Loki version of the High Rise still with Elisabeth Moss is hilarious.

  19. seesittellsit says:

TH has something of a reputation for banging co-stars – wonder if he did Moss? I think she’s much prettier than EO, but lawd we don’t want Toddles wandering into the maw of Scientology, now do we?

    • TotallyBiased says:

Well, people like to TALK about him banging his co-stars, there’s a difference. The only confirmed interactions: dated Susannah Fielding, who had been in a Wallander episode with him, exact dates unknown. Certainly close with Gwendoline Christie (no actual physical relationship confirmed) during and after a rather long multi-country theatrical tour.
Odds do seem high he’s some kind of buddies with EO, but we have no confirmation as to the exact nature of their relationship. So people describe it however they will, then posit that as fact.

    • TotallyBiased says:

Having said all that–I couldn’t agree with you more re Hiddles and the ‘maw’ of Scientology!! I’d just want to yell ‘you in Danger, son!’

    • Catherine says:

It’s more likely he hooked up with Miller.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Right, because we just know there were orgies during Cranford with Judi Dench, Imelda Staunton, and Deborah Findlay and Mia Wasikova keeps coming back for more.

      • Heather says:

…and he requested they keep their bonnets on. #cranfordorgyscandal

        😉

      • Lilacflowers says:

Except for Dame Judi. She got to wear her costume turban

Michelle Dockery has been in three productions with him. They must be secretly married.

In comparison to others like Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, his relationships with co-stars are on the lower end of the scale

  20. Cait says:

The movie might be great but those solo shots make it look like a cheesy 1980s flick.

    • hermia says:

Don’t know why, but they remind me of the staging of American Psycho (the Almeida theatre production).

  21. Madly says:

New story in the lowest of the low online sites on the cap 3 after party. Are they trolling tumbler for these stories? It is obnoxious to look up news and the only thing in abundance has been these stories on these sites. One even referenced this site as a source and said he was filming Crimson Peak, such credibility.

    • Lilacflowers says:

That one should be combined with the Sandman urban legend that Neil Gaiman has tried to correct on Twitter at least three times. Let’s try, shall we?

He decided to surprise EO and Chris Evans by showing up to the CA3 wrap party in his new Morpheus costume and makeup.

    • Catherine says:

That article is clickbait and is just rubbish, same goes for Franchise Herald.

      • Lilacflowers says:

There’s even one citing Bustle as a reference, because Bustle epitomizes truthfulness and integrity in journalism.

  22. Kathy says:

I expect to see that one out in the wild soon, Lilacflowers.

I would put money on him and Lizzie just bei g friends, and getting genuinely surprised by the pap frenzy after the theatre. If they were together they would be arranging their schedules to spend more time together, and they both seem to go about their lives most of the time without being papped, so of course they’d be disconcerted when a whole swarm descends.

I don’t buy the PR conspiracy theories at all – they get no benefit from it, if anything it tarnishes their images. The only people who benefit are the paps and the press!

    • Lilacflowers says:

And they haven’t been seen together since that theater night more than a month ago while he’s been spotted pretty consistently by himself in London and she’s been back in California – an ocean and a continent away – during a time when neither of them is known to be filming anything because that’s what couples who are inseparably in love do or having hot PR romances do.

      • Kathy says:

Yup, if it was an attempt at PR it would be a pretty awful one! The timing is all wrong to promote the film, they’d have to be consistently seen together to keep a story running.

Post-Leveson I personally think that celebs have never done the PR thing as much as the press made out. They were covering their phone hacking tracks and so spun this tale that they were being tipped off by celebs because they actually wanted their photos in the press. I reckon if was bullshit at least 90% of the time, 5% was celebs attempting to gain some control over the press and paps because they were making their daily lives so difficult, and only truly celebs wanting PR coverage about 5% of the time.

      • Madly says:

Your percentages are way off. It is more reverse actually. They need the PR for various reasons and seek it out much more than you think.

      • Dara says:

Here’s where i play devil’s advocate and say just because they weren’t seen together doesn’t mean they weren’t actually together. There was a good chunk of time recently when neither was photographed – planes fly between LA and London (and other places) on a daily basis.

  23. icerose says:

To answer someone’s question re why you go to preview performances is because they are on sale and the Barbican tickets were sold out. Although in my case i picked up top notch tickets the same day as the Barbican tickets from a different source where there was no queing so maybe they had them set aside for established theatre audiences. To be honest I had not intended to go until the offercame through

  24. et alors says:

Sounds like a lot of people just met Tom in Soho. Someone said that he was doing a photoshoot. Nice suit.
