Kermit the Frog has a younger, less accomplished piggy girlfriend on his arm

Well, well, well. One month has passed since Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog filed for divorce, and it looks like the green guy already has a new piece. Typical, right? The younger, less accomplished pig in this photo is Denise the Pig. We heard some gossip about Denise from marketing immediately after Kermie and Piggy split. Looks like there might be a sensitivity chip missing in a certain frog.

Sadly, I am not surprised by this confirmation of Denise’s existence in Kermit’s romantic life. He was always intimidated by Piggy’s career, and she tried so hard to stay fresh and young for him. Reptiles don’t age as fast as mammals, however, so Kermit wanted to go younger. Or so I assume. Someone (named Denise) had their publicist call People with the details:

Kermit, who is still working with Miss Piggy on her late-night talk show Up Late with Miss Piggy – a situation that is being documented on the upcoming ABC series The Muppets – has been spotted around town numerous times with a head of marketing at ABC named Denise, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“She’s always stopping by the set of Up Late,” the source says of Denise.

And it seems things are getting serious between the two.

“He calls her his girlfriend,” adds the source.

[From People]

Meanwhile — and this is hilarious — Kermit had his posse call Time to deny that he and Denise are dating. Team Frog says they are “simply close friends.” Ugh, he’s a cheater and a liar, and I would feel so sorry for Piggy. However … Piggy appears to have found a new romance herself, and he’s talking.

Liam Hemsworth posted this photo to Instagram with a romantic caption: “Spent Friday with the most beautiful girl in the world. Kermit, #SorryNotSorry.

Go Piggy!

Spent Friday with the most beautiful girl in the world. Kermit, #SorryNotSorry. #TheMuppets #misspiggy

    • SNAP says:

Er…Denise looks like the muppet version of “I am Cait”…Is Kermit about to come out as a toad? 0.o The suspense is killing me! I know there’s a blind item floating around hinting at a reptile ready for a BIG change…it likes pork but pork doesn’t like him so he’s gone to extremes…yikes!
As for Piggy…you go girl! Now that’s what i call a hell of an upgrade!
CB: We need more coverage of this story! Keep the juicy details coming!

  2. daisyfly says:

Kermit needs to remember who brings home the bacon.

  3. Goats on the Roof says:

    That bastard!

(Also, I’m loving that we’re acting like the parties involved aren’t muppets)

    • Hudson Girl says:

I’ve been so confused by the announcement of their divorce, etc.
I’m so tired this morning that now I’m just laughing. I definitely need more coffee to process what’s going on.
This whole post writeup was flawless and hysterical.

Loving it! Smiling from ear to ear over this.

I saw pics of her cozying up to Tom Hiddleston….

    She’s over it.

…and that was before Kermit and Miss Piggy announced their split!
Tom is quite the rake! πŸ˜‚

    • Miss Jupitero says:

I was going to say, I thought PuddleTom and Miss Piggy were a thing!

      • EscapedConvent says:

No one can resist the Hiddles. I expect he charmed the pants right off Miss Piggy. Kermit ought to keep an eye on Denise—there’s no guarantee that Tommy might not go after her too. 🐷

    • Absolutely says:

You get it, Miss Piggy! All of it!

    • vauvert says:

Nathan AND Tom and now Liam???

Somebody gets all the breaks:-) and it is not Kermit. Piggy, you give me a call, ok? We can party together. That green fool doesn’t know what he’s missing!

    Middle age crisis.

  6. Ana says:

She is so dead. MP does not play that.

  7. Shambles says:

Get some of that sizzling Hemsworth bacon, Miss Pigalicious.

As far as Denise from Marketing, to quote another poster (I’m sorry, I can’t remember exactly who)…

“She looks like the damn nanny.”

    πŸ˜‰

  8. greenmonster says:

Thank God, they didn’t have kids or we would probably have another nanny in the tabloids. Get it together, Kermit!

  9. baby faced killer says:

    This is hilarious

  10. michelleb says:

    This story is so cute!

Go Miss Piggy! A Hemsworth is better than a frog any day.

  11. Imo says:

Perhaps Miss Piggy will find a competent therapist who specializes in anger management and conflict resolution. Then, she too, can move on a much healthier individual and maybe start a thing with Jake Gyllenhaal.

    • Jegede says:

Y’know Miss Piggy abused Kermit for so my years………….. I’m bewildered he’s coming across as the villain.

I any case typical man- Boffing secretary/assistant. *eye roll*

Should we expect a conference call with Gloria Allred?

      • Neah23 says:

That’s what I just said below.

      • Alex says:

Me too. All these anti-Kermit comments have me wondering if i’ve been missing something my entire life watching the muppets. MP was downright abusive and obsessed with Kermit. I’m glad they are over

      • Imo says:

        Jegede never disappoints πŸ™‚
If Kermy ever karate chopped Miss Piggy we would be Chris Browning him, and deservedly so. Get help, MP, you are too fabulous to not live your best life.

      • Illyra says:

It was basically Punch and Judy

  12. Amelia says:

Hell hath no fury like a Miss Piggy scorned.
Taking bets that there’s going to be some dirt on Denise making an appearance soon.

  13. Kiki says:

It looks the Denise the pig is really thirsty huh? Umm hmm. Soon, and I’ll bet she want a new reality show and she’s got Kermit to do that.

  14. Karen says:

I am so glad a tv/movie program for children is making their favorite leading frog a cheat and helping keep the stereotype that successful pigs (or aging pigs) don’t get the frog. Only the dumb young pig, that is easy and doesn’t challenge a frog gets the prize.

I think the tone deaf one might be the muppets showrunner.

    • Jackie Jormp Jomp says:

The new show isn’t really for kids.

      • original kay says:

that may be, but do parents know that? or are they assuming it is and letting their kids watch this?

I agree with Karen, this is disturbing on so many levels.

    • I Choose Me says:

Oh come on. This’ll go right over the heads of any kiddies watching. And might I add that the muppets are not just geared towards children. It’s popular with all ages. For those of us who are adults, this is just a fun pr stunt we can all play along with. Or not.

      • Anna says:

I don’t agree that this kind of stuff goes over kids’ heads. That’s like saying kids don’t notice when parents are fighting or divorce. Yeah, these are “just muppets” but we’re talking about Jim Henson’s two biggest, most beloved characters. Seriously, I am so deeply disgusted by this. The Muppet Movie soundtrack was my first record as a kid and I loved it, still know every song by heart. What is up with this “reality-tv-ification” of the Muppets? Why must we introduce divorce and love triangle angst, and Kermit sleeping with his sister-in-law (yes, I heard Denise is Miss Piggy’s sister)? Really? Morals are gone, for real. This is just a huge disappointment. It feels like one of the last bastions of wholesomeness is just gone. I am by no means a conservative; I just don’t think we should be celebrating this type of relationship and “intrigue” especially not for kids. That becomes the norm then, just like divorce is now the norm and people are shocked and even laugh at the idea that two people could possibly stay together and be in love for a lifetime. I feel so sad about this… :…(

      • Anoni Mus says:

Totally agree Anna. It just feels wrong that they should impose this tabloidy, trashy stuff on such iconic characters. Seems unnecessary and it taints memories of our childhood. But, anything for the allmighty dollar.

    • Alice says:

Sesame Street is the kid’s version.

    • greenmonster says:

The Muppet Show was never really aimed at kids. There has always been some innuendo. Anyone remember Lydia the heavily tattooed pig dancing around Kermit in a bikini? Not really kids TV. Kids enjoyed the show because funny puppets were funny. Lots of things went right ober their heads.

      • Amy Tennant says:

This. Yes. The Muppet Show never was a kids’ show, although a lot of kids watched it and loved it (me included),

Would it be too pedantic for me to point out that the green one is an amphibian, not a reptile? πŸ˜‰

        Love this writeup!

      • Alice says:

Not too pedantic at all. The reptile part bothered me, too.

      • Eden75 says:

I watched the Muppets as a kid and missed the adult stuff. I have rewatched them as an adult and yeah, the humour and innuendo is all geared towards adults. For example, Miss Piggy hitting on Roger Moore. I remember that clearly, watching it the first time. Miss Piggy and James Bond? How cool! I watch it now, and I just laugh at the entire situation if you take into account that she is supposed to be with the frog, etc, etc.

Here’s one of the Piggy/Moore clips:

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RW20eIyvPk

      • Amy Tennant says:

I quote Janice all the time from one episode when there was a lot of noise and it suddenly stopped just as Janice was saying, “It’s my life, mother! So what if I want to walk on the beach naked?”

    • Aren says:

Agreed. Even if it wasn’t meant for kids, I don’t know why they’re using this kind of gossip to promote them.

    • amunet ma'at says:

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I never thought Miss Piggy was good for Kermit. Yeah, she loved her some Kermy but she was soo loud and brash. Ugh, he was such a quiet and low key guy. Ladies never chase a man, let that man chase you.

  15. MrsBPitt says:

Enquiring minds want to know, have Kermit and Piggy, been seen with their wedding rings on or off????
    #nodisrepecttobenaffleck

    • Heat says:

@MrsBPitt: Mostly, they have their rings off; they just wear them when they are around Fozzie and Scooter to soften the blow.

  16. Prairiegirl says:

    #TeamPiggy

  17. ds says:

This is hilarious! I mean they put all the other celebrities and their PR game to shame. Brilliant!

  18. Chinoiserie says:

I would say that all men are pigs but that would be an insult to Miss Piggy.

(btw is it normal for American news to report Muppet news?)

  19. Betti says:

You go girl – nothing hotter than a Hemsworth for a rebound and am sure Kermie will come running back when he see’s this.

And Denise from Marketing, we got ur number girl – you’re just another Nanny!!!!!

  20. capepopsie says:

    IΒ΄m NOT surprised!
    Men. .

  21. Farah says:

there’s pictures of Denise and Ms. Piggy hanging out in JULY! She befriended Piggy and stole her man! Homewrecker!

Also can we talk about him dating another pig? What does he have against female frogs? Little guy got some Lipton money and started believing his own hype. Self hating little beast.

  22. Enn says:

Am I the only one who thinks this is stupid? I outgrew the Muppets about 25 years ago.

    • Jackie Jormp Jomp says:

Watch them as an adult–all the Muppet shows and movies are LOADED with jokes for adults.

    • Nic919 says:

This is probably traumatizing some kids too. Do they really need to deal with break ups on the Muppets when many of them have parents splitting up because of cheating or what not in real life? I know there are sly references for adults, but they are still viewed as a kids show.

And why does this new pig need to be called a younger version? Must we enforce that stereotype too? We have enough of Leo D trading in for a new model, do we have to have Kermit be that way too? (although if Leo shows up on the new HBO show that would be a coup)

    • Aren says:

I don’t find it stupid but unfunny.
The marriage, the break up, the new partners, why? Why? WHY?!

  23. Farah says:

Although let’s not pretend there haven’t been rumors of Miss Piggy’s cheating ways too. Tom Hiddleston didn’t just break up an engagemt. I know for a FACT they messed around. Elizabeth Olson, not feeling so special huh?

  24. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Ok, I haven’t been following this because I’m not a muppets fan, but wtf? Is this a movie? A new TV show? Will it go away?

  25. Sure Jan says:

Kermit got a career revival with those memes and lost his damn mind. What’s worst is Denise was Miss Piggy’s friend! Kermit is so gross for that you mean to tell me he couldn’t pick up pigs on another farm?!
Glad Miss Piggy is moving on from that creep she deserves way better.

  26. Nina says:

Not to get too soapboxy here ’cause it’s the Muppets, but I wish we’d see more female Muppets. The only prominent ones are Piggy and Janice. Now they’re trying to make Denise happen, and she looks to be little more than “the other woman”. It’s not as though there haven’t been new Muppets introduced since Henson’s passing. We had a bunch make their debut in the ’90s with “Muppets Tonight!”: Johnny Fiama, Sal Minella, Seymour and Pepe, Andy and Randy, Bobo the bear, Nigel, Zippity, Phil Van Neuter, among many others. Of those, two females: Spamela Hamderson, whose only defining characteristic was her hotness, and Darci, who was in a couple “Real World”-esque segments as the roommate everyone disliked. Can we not have some new likeable, goofy girl Muppets with personalities of their own who aren’t just love interests?

Okay, that being said, I’m curious to see how Piggy retaliates. πŸ™‚

    • Amy Tennant says:

I always loved Piggy and Janice! Skeeter made her debut in the Muppet Babies cartoon. It would be nice for her to make at least a guest-starring appearance.

      • Nina says:

Skeeter, right! Why can’t they make her into a real-life Muppet? She may have been just “girl Scooter”, but at least her personality was distinct from Piggy’s and Janice’s.

  27. HK9 says:

I waited all my life for Miss Piggy & Kermit to get together and now they’ve split and he’s dating a thot??!!?? Excuse me while I pick up the pieces of my childhood dreams.

  28. notasugarhere says:

I’m not saying I’m completely #TeamAmphibian here, but Miss Piggy has been a domineering, somewhat abusive force in Kermit’s life. He was always trying to appease The Diva, keep her from going off and punching one of the cast or crew, and trying to make her the Star she so desperately wanted to be. Their life together revolved completely around her and her need to be center stage.

When things went south with the show, she ran off to Paris and dumped the stalwart frog. It might be, he’s realized life is more peaceful without her and her lily pad-hating ways. That said, I hope there’s nothing to these stories about the fresh Side of Bacon.

    • Selena Castle says:

So true! Team Kermit here! I remember seeing her hit him many times. She is a bully. I’m glad he has moved on.

  29. Lucy says:

    So, Kermit is a f*ckboy. What’s new?

  30. Neah23 says:

Why is everybody hating on Kermit? I love me some Miss. Piggy, but they are getting a divorce so he not cheating and she seeing someone. Miss Piggy has been both physically and verbally abusive to him for over 25 years.

Having said that I think Kermit could do better then Denise girlfriend looks like she spent way too much time at the plastic surgeon office.

    • Chickadee says:

Agreed. Maybe Kermit is missing a “sensitivity chip” but I think it’s pretty clear that he has been wanting to start a family for a long time and all MP cares about is her career and her hair.

  31. Jenna says:

Are you kidding? Miss Piggy was an abusive girlfriend. Kermie is LUCKY to get out of that. Imagine they got married? How would she treat their kids, if they had any????? She was super controlling and physically abusive. Fuck her. Denise SAVED Kermie.

  32. Kelly says:

Apparently Denise identifies as a frog. Shame on you, Kermit.

  33. Amy Tennant says:

Pretty quick, actually. Who wants to bet Denise has been a side-piece for some time?

  34. Barrett says:

I heard Kermit had an Ashley Madison account?

  35. Adrien says:

Denise suspiciously looks like Amber Heard.

  36. tmbg says:

I approve. I have never liked Piggy (her Pigs in Space skits were entertaining though) and felt Kermie deserved better. That sweet Betty Lou from the old Sesame days would have been a better choice than violent Piggy.

And dare I say Denise is prettier? Her schnoz is much more refined. πŸ˜›

  37. AlmondJoy says:

Really really loving this thread after all the intensity and arguing we had yesterday. A reminder of why I visit this site every day plus it’s always nice to get a good laugh!

  38. Melca Blue says:

I have that dress! And now I have to burn it, ach Kermit why?

  39. kri says:

I want to see Denise in her former job as an Affleck nanny. BTW, she also has a photo of herself wearing some Superbowl rings. I think Denise may be the reason why so many marriages broke up this summer. i’m sure she is in hog heaven with all of this attention.

  40. Carmen says:

    Just like a man…

  41. prissa says:

So dumb. And I agree with NIC919. Can’t some things just stay innocent? Why such a sleazy storyline for what (to many I’m sure) are considered beloved characters? Never been a muppets fan so this is just dumb to me. SMH

  42. Tacos and TV says:

Denise is not pretty. Miss Piggy is the belle of the ball! #NotSorryAtAll

  43. Cindy says:

Miss Piggy has had too much plastic surgery, so sad. Her face is totally frozen, does she think we are stupid? And Kermit still left her for a younger pig…..

  44. lauraeparis says:

Miss Piggy didn’t abuse she was just being an assertive, strong pig. Besides Kermit liked it that way! My question is: What happened with Nathan Fillion???? It really broke my heart when he came out of her trailer looking all disheveled.

  45. Carmen says:

Absolutely disgusted… ditching the Queen for some skanky piglet… KERMIT, you bum!!!

  46. Nephelim says:

    Denise is just a rebound…
    Is she a nanny?

  47. mkyarwood says:

Love it. That means he was a muppet show guest, right? UGH, I can’t WAIT.

  48. Veronica says:

    *whispers* reeeeeeebooooound

    πŸ™‚

At least they both seem to be moving on and consciously recoupling with grace.

  49. The Original Mia says:

Snatch that wig, Miss Piggy! Snatch that wig!

We all know Kermit will be begging to come back and be karate chopped by Piggy. I hope she doesn’t take him back immediately. You’re on a break, girl! Taste all the forbidden fruit. Tom, Nathan, and now Liam. Get it, Piggy!

  50. Brasileira says:

Oh my! Now, even Kermit the Frog is a damn cliche? What’s Ben Affleck doing to our world? I’m sure Kermit was in that plane to Vegas with the Nanny too!

    • kibbles says:

It would be epic if a photo emerges of Kermit on a private jet with his new pig wearing Superbowl rings .

  51. miac47 says:

I think Denise weirdly looks like Natalie Dormer. Am I the only one seeing that?

  52. Dunne says:

This is such brilliant marketing. I love it!

  53. Reece says:

His new side piece has Middleton levels of eyeliner going on there.

  54. Madpoe says:

This is so freckin’ stupid! Why are they ruining my childhood memories with this crap?
