Has Louis Tomlinson demanded a paternity test for Briana Jungwirth’s baby?

FFN_Tomlinson_Payne_FFUK_081015_51819826

It was less than two months ago when we learned that Louis Tomlinson impregnated his casual hookup/friend-with-benefits Briana Jungwirth. The pregnancy announcement was NOT well-received by 1Ders, and they went Full Twihard, demanding to see the receipts on all of it. Like, they didn’t believe that Louis even slept with Briana, and even if he did, she was probably trying to trap him or something. About a month ago, Louis and the other One Direction guys (minus Zayn) appeared on GMA and Louis was put on the spot about his “upcoming fatherhood.” Much to the dismay of the 1Ders, he did not deny it. He thanked the GMA host and said, “Obviously it’s a very exciting time, so I’m buzzing.” A confirmation, but not detailed.

Throughout the whole scandal, the tabloids have rather gleefully reported that Louis and Briana are both pretty shady. Louis was sleeping with at least four other women around the same time he banged Briana. In Touch also did a story about how Briana was basically a drunk party girl who bangs dudes in Jucuzzis, because CLASSY. And now In Touch has another “bombshell” about Briana:

Just weeks after Louis Tomlinson confirmed he’s going to be a dad, In Touch Weekly has learned of a new bombshell — he may not actually be the father of Briana Jungwirth’s baby!

“Someone very close to Briana says Louis wasn’t the only guy she was hooking up with when she got pregnant,” a source tells In Touch. “She was having sex with someone else at the same time, so the baby may not be Louis’.”

This comes shortly after In Touch reported that he planned on getting a paternity test after the baby’s arrival. The source adds that the stylist, 23, was seeing the other guy before Louis, 23, even entered the picture.

“Once the baby is born, it looks like Briana will have no choice but to get a paternity test,” the source explains. “The situation is so messed up.”

[From In Touch Weekly]

It feels like it’s been a while since we’ve had a good old-fashioned paternity drama around these parts. I’m surprised Jude Law hasn’t had another one of those episodes, right? It was pretty much established that Jude made his one night stand Samantha Burke do a paternity test on their daughter (and the baby was definitely Jude’s). If he made his last baby-mama, Catherine Harding, do a paternity test, we never heard of it. Anyway… yes, I’m sure Louis will ask Briana for a paternity test. And here’s hoping that Louis is the daddy! God, can you imagine how sad/funny it will be if Louis isn’t the father? OMG. Now I almost want that to happen.

I see nothing wrong with him demanding a paternity test. These two weren’t in a relationship…he probably slept with other girls and she might have slept with other guys? Who knows. The amount of money for child support up for grabs is very high, he needs to make sure the kid is his.

    • kri says:

He looks too young to produce sperm. Maybe they will have a Lego baby or something. Haven’t these idiots heard of condoms??

    • Loopy says:

      Ditto

    • sienna says:

Testing like this should just be done quietly. Is the kind of gossip I hate.

Remember the whole Elizabeth Hurley/ Steve Bing fiasco? Damian is 100% his kid and I could only think about how the poor boy will feel when he would google himself later and see the horrible drama that went on.

      • Naya says:

        +1

Eddie Murphy pulled this too with Scary Spice. Why cant they keep it discreet. Sylvester Stallone handled it best with Janice Dickinson. He kept his doubts to himself while being outwardly supportive, when the baby was born he had her paternity tested and when he discovered it wasnt his, he had his name taken off the birth cert and let it be known he wasnt abandoning his daughter since she wasnt his daughter anyway. And besides calling Janice a mess over the years for her reality show stunts, I dont think he has ever referenced the kids paternity again, not even as evidence of how tricky Janice can be.

    • MeganDraper65 says:

Anyone in a situation where custody and support issues are relevant should have a paternity test. Maybe now he’s learned to use protection! All of them actually.

  2. Mia4S says:

As he should. If I was the woman in these circumstances I would not be the least bit put out by the request. If she fights him on it? Big red flag.

    • littlemissnaughty says:

I would be super insulted because basically, you’re being called a liar. Unless she’s not really sure either and doesn’t mind because she wants to know herself. As a guy I’d ask for one too though so whatever. It sounds like these children loved barebacking all over town so maybe other tests are in order as well.

  3. mia girl says:

I would if I were him. They were not in a relationship and had only known each other a short time, right? It’s a fair request.

  4. Tiffany says:

This would be the classiest Maury episode EVA…you know, with the english accent and all.

  5. Esteph says:

Baby mamma drama is no fun, should I feel bad for him?

When will people learn that if you sleep around and are not careful, things like this can happen. SMH

  6. grabbyhands says:

I find it hard to believe that a paternity test wouldn’t have been the first order of business before he confirmed it to the public, because they have to know the announcement was going to bring on the fandom crazy train. If his management didn’t immediately demand one before they made it official, they really dropped the ball.

God, now the 1D Tumblr nutjobs are going to be even more insufferable than they were before, which I didn’t think was possible.

    • Astrid says:

I just checked wiki and there are non invasive testing methods available to check paternity so it’s surprising they didn’t go this route first before announcing the pregnancy.

    • Size Does Matter says:

Agree. I assumed the test had already happened. They can pull fetal DNA from the mother’s blood at 10 weeks along.

    • pleaseicu says:

I’m sure a discrete paternity test was already done and Louis knows he’s the father. 1D’s management and PR can be dumb but I don’t think they’re that dumb to have Louis confirm he’s going to be a dad when he doesn’t know for sure that he’s the daddy. There’s still a ton of money to be made. They wouldn’t risk their profit margin over a maybe, possibly situation.

I think 1D would’ve just ignored the story if they weren’t sure the baby was Louis’. They ignore 99% of the stories that are written about them, including cheating allegations, band members fighting/hating each other, and drug use/addiction.

I don’t think Louis’ dad Mark and his mom Jay would’ve confirmed that they were going to be grandparents if there was doubt. Simon Cowell and Liam Payne both confirmed Louis was going to be a dad. Louis himself confirmed it.

It’s not like money is an object in getting one of the newer DNA tests that can be done after 8 weeks at a discrete clinic.

      • Junior says:

I suppose we’ll know for sure in less than 9 months – in fact, we’ll know in about 5 months, according to the timeline you’ve bought into.

But I’m still skeptical. Tomlinson and 1D’s management could have easily buried this story if they wanted to by writing a check: the girl is a nobody from nowheres-ville. I think they want the story out there for some reason: perhaps to make it clear that 1D is no longer a ‘boy’ band, perhaps to raise Tomlinson’s profile for some other reason.

Anyway, the ‘confirmations’ you refer to are pretty lame and passive. Nodded heads, “it’s an exciting time”, “I’m buzzing”, etc. Even David Spade did a better job when he was in a similar situation with a Playboy centerfold he’d boffed a couple of times.

You can buy it if you want, but I don’t.

      • pleaseicu says:

Because a member of a relatively clean cut boyband paying off a girl he got pregnant from some drunken club hook-ups because he just wanted her and the situation to go away would end so well for him and 1D?

You don’t have to believe them. But as the parties impacted by the pregnancy, Louis and his parents get to confirm and express their emotions over it in the way they choose. Just because the confirmations don’t satisfy your line in the sand for being truthful and happy enough doesn’t mean they’re lying and it’s a PR stunt.

And, really, if Louis wasn’t passive and was shouting from the rooftops that he was going to be a dad, and he’s super excited, certain fans would be all over him for being OTT and what is he hiding. Why is he so happy to be having a baby with a woman he doesn’t know? No one is that happy to be a dad with a drunken club girl? It’s totally fake and a PR stunt.

Louis can’t win with his reaction. That’s always the way it is with a certain subset of this fandom and the lines they create in the sand on whether or not they’re going to believe the boys’ own words on certain topics –like pregnancy, their own relationships, and their sexuality. Everything they do or say is a conspiracy or management controlled or a subtle clue to the fandom that they’re trying to send just to the fans.

If everything is PR and controlled by management it allows fans to deflect responsibility off of the boys for doing things fans don’t like–like going off on fans and insulting them after years of abuse and harassment; casually dating and/or hooking up with pretty models or fans or whoever they like; or stupidly getting a girl pregnant after going on drunken nights out to the clubs.

      • Neonscream says:

I’m not 100% sure of this because the U.S. has some strange laws relating to a woman’s autonomy over her body, but I’d assume a guy couldn’t force a woman to undergo a paternity test until she requested child support. No kid yet so no support paid or ordered so he’d have no right to force her to undergo any kind of procedure.

  7. someone says:

I’m kinda surprised he didn’t ask her to do a paternity test before he admitted to the pregnancy. They do have a new high tech one that can be done from the mother’s blood while she’s pregnant. It’s called the Non-invasive Prenatal Paternity (NIPP) test. It can be done after 14 weeks. I hope Louis has her take one so he can know either way.

  8. COSquared says:

LOL if the baby isn’t his! Heavy child support payments & 2.5 minutes of fame…all gone… I just miss paternity drama.

  9. Junior says:

Personally, I think it was all a stunt to raise his profile. The supposed mother supposedly works as a stylist but has no social media accounts, which most stylists use to show off their work and get more. That’s fishy, and it’s also odd that she hasn’t been photographed for a month or so, and when she was she didn’t look very pregnant. Meanwhile, Louis’ “confirmation” was very wishy-washy. But hey – now everyone knows who Louis Tomlinson is! He’s been moved out of the ‘other’ category along with Harry and Zayn.

    • pleaseicu says:

Raise his profile for what? He’s been pretty clear about wanting to be a behind-the-scenes Simon Cowell/Louis Walsh/Irv Azoff-type with managing bands and finding/developing talent with a side job of songwriting with Liam.

Louis’ profile would only need to be raised if he were going solo and I think he has no desire to have a solo singing career and knows his voice isn’t suited for a solo career.

      • caroline says:

His profile has been raised so much that people, well in the US, still knows him as the guy who isn’t Harry. I wish people would stop saying this is a pr stunt, it’s so tiresome. He hooked up with a girl he was partying with in a club and she became pregnant. It happens and it happens a lot. Outside the 1D fanbase, most specifically a subsection of the fandom, does anybody care?

      • Junior says:

With reference to pleaseicu’s comment “Raise his profile for what? He’s been pretty clear about wanting to be a behind-the-scenes Simon Cowell…”

Simon Cowell is in no way behind the scenes: he’s a brand name, which I assume Louis would want to be as well.

In show business, being a brand name increases your opportunities and revenue. See: Pharrell, Jay-Z, etc.

If, as pleaseicu suggests, Louis no longer intends to perform, right now is the perfect time to raise his name awareness for his future career.

  10. Alice says:

Modest Management publicity stunt all the way and there has never been a confirmation by Louis: “these are exciting times. I’m buzzin” is hardly a hearty YES from a guy who absolutely LOVES children!

Modest Management has put these guys through the wringer.

    • pleaseicu says:

He’s having a baby with a woman he had drunken sex with maybe half a dozen times. It’s awkward. It’d be weird if he’s all yippee! about the situation he’s found himself in.

Loving children and the idea of being a dad someday isn’t remotely the same as living the reality of being a dad before you wanted with a woman who you only know through half a dozen drunken club nights.

Louis’ life has been through a lot in the past six months. He may still be reeling and trying to wrap his head around it all. He ended a nearly four year relationship with a woman he shared a home and life with. One of his best friends walked out of his life without a glance back and then turned on him publicly. Now he’s having a baby with pretty much a stranger. All while on a world tour and recording a new album. That’s a hell of a lot to adjust to and deal with in a six month time span.

  11. Morse0412 says:

Huh…so that one is Louis. Ill be completely honest, I only see group photos and was never fully sure which was which

  12. justine says:

The baby isnt his because he never slept with her. It will all come out in the wash in the end. Definitely a stunt and when the contract ends in march alot of crap will come out on this sketchy band. Regardless it was a stunt to elevate his name in the american markets for his name to be out there for business reasons after this band is finished or atleast on hiatus. u will see….just wait.

    • Lara Morgana says:

Justine, what are you talking about?

    • pleaseicu says:

What? How does characterizing him as a guy who impregnates a girl he clubbed with half a dozen times work in his favor for “business reasons?”

The image being put out there of Louis as an irresponsible, drunken, stoned out party guy who sleeps with whoever and gets random women pregnant does not serve to sell him as a reliable business man/manager/producer.

Who wants to put their career and future in the hands of someone who thinks that that sort of characterization and stunt is a good PR move to raise their profile for business reasons?

If this is to raise his profile for business reasons, then he’s an idiot. Because this doesn’t help sell him as someone to take seriously in the music industry at all. And if he can’t be taken seriously, he won’t survive as a manager/talent development/producer/record exec.

Eh, I think he just lost the plot for a bit after he/Eleanor split and Zayn left and turned on him. He hit the partying a bit too hard and now has to face the major consequences of having fun without wrapping it up every time.

  13. jferber says:

I assume that the whole band is bi-sexual or gay (just my opinion) so these heterosexual antics (getting a girl pregnant–Louis and dumping his girlfriend–Zayn) are red herrings. I also believe Simon is bi-sexual or gay and his child with a woman was a P.R. move for his image. I’m in love with Harry Styles, whatever his sexuality is. I never understood why a movie star’s or singer’s sexuality matters in the least when it comes to fan fantasy. Rupert Everett was hot as hell back in the day and it mattered nothing to me that he was gay. I was and am his groupie for life.
