Radar Online has a story of a Hollywood friendship that sounds somewhat unlikely but could be true. They claim that Jennifer Aniston is friends with Jennifer Garner, having met her at the Oscars and “bonded over being the two most famous Jennifers.” (What about Jennifer Lopez? I guess she was known as J.Lo at the time. Now we have Jennifer Lawrence but she wasn’t around back then.) Anyway, when Aniston heard of Garner’s split with love rat Ben Affleck, she is said to have sent her a note, flowers and wine. I wonder if she sent her an invite to come over and do drunk yoga. A few of those sessions and she’ll earn a trip to Cabo. That’s assuming Garner has reliable childcare at this point. She’s not going to make the mistake of bringing another nanny on vacation with her.
“They first met at the Oscars nearly 10 years ago and instantly bonded over being the two most famous Jennifers in the world at the time,” a source told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “They’ve always had time for each other so when Ben and Jen’s marriage fell apart, she sent Jen flowers and a bottle of wine, telling her she was there for her.”
Not only did Garner lose her husband, a man that she should have been able to trust, she was also betrayed by another person who was a huge part of her life — her nanny, Christine Ouzounian! After being stabbed in the back by those closest to her, Garner is finding solace with Aniston, who knows a thing or two about rebounding from heartbreak after she lost her husband Brad Pitt to Angelina Jolie. “Jen [Garner] feels so overwhelmed at all the support she’s been getting from some of the most powerful people in Hollywood,” the insider said. “She’s been so brave and put up with so much, and it’s very clear she’s the most hands-on parent of the two. Jen [Aniston] has a lot of love for her.”
Garner and Aniston were both at Jimmy Kimmel’s wedding in 2013 too, so they know some of the same people of course and run in the same circles. Did Aniston tell Garner to do a tell all interview claiming Affleck lacks a sensitivity chip? I guess no one needs to point that out, and Garner is going with “the devil you know” strategy at this point. She’s not playing the wronged party angle anymore, which is just as well. We see how that worked out for Aniston.

Neither of these women would have gotten so far in their “careers” and celebrity if they had to rely on their talent/looks (shallow I know, but hey.. Hollywood!) only. A-List partnering got them there, most definitely.
I think Affleck benefited from marrying Garner too, though. She seemed to keep him focused and disciplined so that he could direct his movies. I wonder if he would have that same discipline for directing if he had stayed single or married someone else (i.e J-Lo or Gwyneth). I don’t know what Garner saw in Affleck because he was kind of mock-worthy after the J-Lo era, but she seemed to also give him back some kind of respectability in the public’s eyes after the stupid Jenny from the Block video (which I blame him for, not J-Lo. I doubt J-Lo put a gun to his head to do it or to look orange and smarmy on red carpets…)
Whenever a woman marries a doctor or executive, people assume the woman benefited from marrying someone successful. But sometimes the woman is also a good influence who helps the guy out in achieving his success. And in that sense the guy achieves more career success than he otherwise would have without her (I think politicians are also a good example of this). I kind of see that in the Garner-Affleck situation.
@perplexed, I will add in the observation that during Chris Martin’s best years with Coldplay (the height of their success), he was with GOOP. So…she may have been a good influence for Batfleck…can’t comment on JLo and her catsuit ways of the past 10 years, I think that may have been a distraction 😉
When Garner married Affleck, his career was a joke. He was a joke. She was at the height of her own career success. I think he did better at the time.
Aniston, though… Friends may have been the smash hit TV show, but he was freaking Brad Pitt. I actually remember when I heard they were dating, and I was really surprised, but pleased for the average-looking, tv-performing girl, who’d managed to hook Brad Pitt. Nothing against Aniston, and I don’t think he is a good actor either, but he was staggeringly beautiful at the time, and he was as A list as it gets, too.
Also, while there were posts on another thread comparing Pitt as having hotness intact vs Affleck…..every time I see Pitt, he just looks like he’s wearing unwashed clothes, and possibly smells. He used to be hot but I just can’t see it anymore.
Aniston played Affleck’s love interest in “He’s Just Not That Into You” (I think that was the name of the movie?). Who knows, but maybe she saw him flirting around with other females if she had to hang with him on set…to be clear, I have no idea, but I was immediately reminded of them starring together in a film when I saw this story.
Affleck and Aniston had surprisingly nice chemistry in that movie. This sounds like another BS story though.
Really? They looked/seemed more like mother and son in that movie to me. Zero chemistry imo.
I thought about them being a movie couple in HJNTIY too.. ScarJo was in that movie and played the side piece for Bradley Cooper’s married character..who knows what happened on that set..it’s fun to think about when you consider all the big names that were involved in that movie.

Jennifer Aniston gets so much crap (see above) but I always get the impression that she must be really low-key, fun, generous, and kind in person, or as a friend.

Jennifer Garner is quite the work out fiend and looks the part when she’s not dressed in baggy jeans. Even though she has a home gym and has mentioned that her trainer comes in the wee hours of the morning, she’s always pictured at various local gyms, taking classes, etc.
This is the weirdest, most stupid reason to bond woth someone that I ever heard. Aniston looks more intelligent and snobby than this kndergarten crap.
