Caitlyn Jenner will not face any criminal charges for her February car accident

More than a month ago, we heard that Caitlyn Jenner would likely not face any kind of felony charges as a result of her February car crash in California. Caitlyn was in a multi-car pile-up that ended the life of one person, and considering Caitlyn’s celebrity, there were months of speculation about what she had been doing wrong and how she would totally be charged with a series of felonies for her part in the accident. What also followed was a months-long investigation and the LA County investigators began releasing some of their findings back in August. The consensus seemed to be that Caitlyn made a driving mistake, but it was more “bad luck” than anything willfully wrong. Investigators basically said that the most she could be charged with would be misdemeanor manslaughter, which probably wouldn’t have even involved jail. Well, no worries, because Caitlyn isn’t going to be charged with anything.

The L.A. County D.A. will NOT charge Caitlyn Jenner with vehicular manslaughter or any other crime in connection with the fatal car crash on PCH. The D.A. has rejected the case, saying she was not speeding, she hit the brakes though belatedly, and her conduct was not “unreasonable” based on all the facts. Jenner was driving inattentively when she slammed into a Lexus, sending the car into oncoming traffic where it struck a Hummer. The Lexus driver died at the scene.

The accident was put under a microscope … the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. investigated the accident for almost 6 months before submitting a 161-page report to the D.A. The case was reviewed not by the D.A.’s Van Nuys satellite office — which would normally handle such cases — but by the Major Crimes Unit at D.A. headquarters in downtown L.A.

Jenner’s lawyer, Blair Berk, tells TMZ, ‘We believed from the start that a thorough and objective investigation would clear Caitlyn of any criminal wrongdoing.” Berk adds, “We are heartened the District Attorney has agreed that even a misdemeanor charge would not be appropriate.”

Berk goes on, “A traffic accident, however devastating and heartbreaking when a life is lost, is not necessarily a criminal matter.”

Yeah, I kind of agree with this call. I mean, save the criminal charges for the cracked-out starlets running over babies on pedestrian walkways. I get that we’re talking about California justice and everything, but sometimes a car accident is just a car accident and while Caitlyn made a bad driving decision (not hitting the brakes fast enough), that’s not a felony. Besides, Caitlyn is probably going to have to pay out big time in the civil litigation, I’m sure.

I really like the white pants/striped top outfit. But that wrap dress, girl no. It does nothing for your booty.

I think it’s the right call, too. She wasn’t breaking any laws. It was a tragic accident. I feel terrible for the woman who died, but sometimes nobody is to blame.

  3. Skins says:

    Ewwwwwwww!

  4. SNAP says:

Dang, what happened to her face? Looks kinda off…

  5. boredblond says:

Sure..hitting two stopped cars and causing a death is perfectly legal in L.A. nobody says it was intentional, but it was clearly negligence, and it looks like the da is reluctant to charge a celeb.

I agree. Everything I saw reported at the time showed that the accident was caused by lack of attention and failure to slow down. Plus, the big SUV was towing an off-road vehicle on a trailer so it was extra heavy. If the woman hadn’t been killed it would have been different, but the Jenner car pushed her to her death.

        100% this.

let’s always remember to mention mere weeks after this fatal crash, Caitlyn was seen driving while talking on her cell.
has not, and never will, learn a thing.

I agree. Also, if you are towing something you are supposed to leave extra room between you and the car in front of you because it takes longer time for heavier vehicles to slow down. If you tailgate, you endanger the people in front of you.

I am not surprised with this, though. Celeb justice.

What she can’t afford a slip? That would make it so the dress would hang better. I think her hair line on her forehead looks really weird. Here’s my politically incorrect question. Did she have a complete sex change operation, or just a brand new pair of boobs?

  7. meme says:

of course not. a rich/famous person in LA could murder someone and get away with it (Hello OJ).

    • V4Real says:

But Karma came back and bit him in the ass. He’s sitting in prison right now for an unrelated charge.

But who seriously thought Caitlyn would be charged with anything?

I dunno, I think Kim Howe’s life was important even though she wasn’t a baby.

  9. QQ says:

real quick question though The Hair, How is that happening?? like Is it weave? Implants? cause I mean in her past life as Bruce , hair was… Thin?? and really this is the age when most ladies’ hair starts to thin out and whatnot and styling aside it seems like Cait’s is growing and rather Nice?

    • db says:

I think her own hair is too thin for a weave, so thinking lace cap wig here…

      • KikiGee says:

Her hair from the back – looks like you can see her own thin hair under that piece. For someone who spends so much time on her looks, she forgot to consider the rear view.
More important subject – I understand it was an accident, but the loss of a life should surely merit some sanctions, even if it’s loss of her license for reckless driving. No?

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

Looks like a wig to me, but what do I know?

  10. Diane says:

Well Caitlyn may not be charged but what about Bruce?

  11. Anare says:

Sad that a person died in that accident but sounds like a thorough investigation showed it was an accident. I lost a dear friend when a woman ran a red light and hit him on his motorcycle. She was not drunk not texting or smoking. She just didn’t see him. Other than a traffic ticket she was not charged with anything else. I don’t know that seeing someone go to prison/jail or have to pay out a chunk of dough really makes the loss any easier to handle. But everyone deals with mourning in their own way.

  12. tessy says:

I just don’t get accident investigations. This one took 6 months, so did they have a team of experts pouring over all the details for that amount of time?

In that awful clingy blue dress, Cait looks like Sharon Palin from the rear.

So ugly. Inside & out. And worst father ever.
