Lamar Odom is in really bad shape. He’s been in bad shape for a while now. According to multiple outlets, Lamar Odom has been hospitalized in Las Vegas. The situation sounds dire, although we don’t know what Lamar’s medical condition is currently. Lamar checked into the Love Ranch, a brothel, outside of Las Vegas on Saturday. He was by himself, no entourage. He was there until late Tuesday, which is when one of the ladies entered his VIP suite and found him unconscious. Reportedly, Lamar had been taking “herbal Viagra” for days. The manager of the Love Ranch called 911 and the manager must have told the 911 operator that he saw “mucus-type liquid coming out of his nose and mouth.”
Lamar was taken by ambulance to Pahrump hospital, then he was taken by ambulance to Las Vegas for additional treatment (the airlift was out of the question because Lamar is simply too big). TMZ’s sources say “it’s not good.” TMZ’s sources – who sound like people in the Vegas hospital – say that he’s in critical condition and that his heart, kidneys and lungs are failing. Khloe and Kim Kardashian were apparently on route to the hospital late last night, with Kris Jenner joining them. By 11 pm (PST?), Khloe was apparently at Lamar’s side.
Apparently, Khloe is in really hurting over this. Sources tell E! News that she’s “completely inconsolable and heartbroken.” She’s said to be leaning on her mom and sister Kim during this time.

@Nicolette, just came from ROL (and take this with a grain of salt because it is ROL) and they are saying the cameras are rolling. TMZ also has footage of the ambulance and them transporting him. Really hope the cameras rolling is not true.

Dani, I am so so sorry to hear about your dad. My childhood neighbor just passed away from scleroderma, which is an autoimmune disorder that basically hardens all the connective tissue in your body. The man loved my brother and I like his own kids for 12 years, and it was really tough to see him that way.

It’s shameful there’s already snark while someone’s organs are failing in a man who’s struggled with drug addicction and depression long before he met his exwife and her family. Although it’s easy to be cold towards the suffering of another when you’re faceless online.

I nearly died from sepsis last October. It had started as cellulitis and escalated quickly to sepsis. I was on morphine for days and had no idea of anything going on or the severity of what was happening to me. My blood pressure was dropping and my kidneys started to fail. Scariest experience I’ve ever been through. I made it to the ER as I was going into shock. I never knew anything about sepsis before and it is beyond words. All I could think of was my children during recovery. Time was everything, and going to my doctor hours before my appointment saved me.

By all earlier reports Lamar refused to change too much post seperation hoping there could be a reunion and both sides left the door open on that. This seems likely Khloe was still his EC.
I hope he pulls through too, but it doesn’t sound very promising. And I agree about Kloe. I mean it’s good that he has someone by his side during this time, but I can’t shake the sickening feeling that this family is going to make it all about them.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look promising. I don’t think he is a good candidate for a heart, liver or kidney transplant . According to TMZ they are all failing. If he doesn’t make it Khloe will be devastated and it will definitely be on KUWTK.
About 8:30 am CNN.com put up a Kardashian-focused article about Lamar Odom’s condition. The lead actually says he became more famous through them. The title is something about Khloe and Lamar’s whirlwind courtship.
I know it’s hard to believe but I don’t think Khloe would let her fam exploit this. She barely discusses things about Lamar and you can tell it really hurts her. It seems to me that she really does love and care about him.

I think you’re right – which actually may make her the legal “next of kin” still and the person who has to authorize consent for any treatments – and in the worst case scenario, she may have to be the one to agree to take him off life support.
@ncboudicca, and this is why everyone should have their wishes legally taken care – whether they want a DNR or don’t want one. That way in situations like this, it is clear what the person wants. The only other person who would be able to make this choice (and I could be wrong) is his father and no where is it being said his father is at the hospital (although he may be).
@swack: I agree…and I doubt Lamar has been thinking straight enough to change any legal documents after separating from Khloe. It would be nice to think that his lawyer or someone else would be looking out for him and drew everything up so that all he had to do was sign, but…
@nboudicca, it’s not what many people think about and honestly, Khloe should not be making that decision as they have been separated for over a year. It’s not fair to her. Everyone should get their wishes legally set (they can always change their mind). Guess I’m a bit practicalistic when it comes to these issues. My father passed away from cancer in 1975 (i was 22) when DNR’s weren’t thought of on a regular basis. My mom was strong enough to keep him at home and not put him in a hospital at the very end. Had he been in the hospital, who knows how long he would have lingered. My mom had a DNR and it made things so much easier when it was her time to go. I have one and am so glad I do because I do not want my children or grandchildren to have to make that decision (I’m divorced). I also included organ donation with it. I’m going to add one more thing to it soon and that is not allow the amputation of any body part if I am not capable of making that decision. I had to make that decision for my mom and it was difficult and at times wish I had not done the amputation because it did not make her life any better (she had alzheimer’s and also was wheelchair bound). So my advice to everyone is to make those plans so that no one else has to do so.

It’s no ones call here to say Khloe isn’t in the best position to make a choice like that. Circumstances are unknown to us like how the children or their mother would treat this case. Or how close Khloe and Lamar were in their seperation. Or if they had an understanding on what the other wanted.
And even those who can make the call and are the best person to do so sometimes don’t. They sometimes let emotions get the better of them and override what their loved one wanted.

What? There are personal demons at play here. It’s easiest to blame K’s, but hardly accurate or appropriate. And the kids don’t have this coming. How kind to state that. I think Khloe loved him, too, but I doubt he was the only one using drugs. Khloe has her own problems with such things. The cheating was a different issue.

My ex fiance was a amazing person (I hate talking about him, miss him to this day), He got into drugs, Started lying and stealing, in and out of jail among many other things and I held on for YEARS because I loved him, but even when I left him I couldn’t stay away, it’s hard to break that kind of connection. I loved who he was before the drugs and wanted that back, but I never did get that and he ended up ODing, His friends panicked and left him on a couch to choke on his own vomit. Sorry if I’m rambling, sometimes I feel like I failed him on so many levels but at the same time I was a enabler. I have many regrets to this day still.
Last i read, his organs were apparently failing. I sincerely hope that Khloe has some sense and that if the worst does happen, cameras will not be around to film her or Lamar or anyone else for that matter. Honestly, this is so sad and messed up.

Is it different in any way if the person is a public figure? I’m asking out of curiosity, so maybe someone on here who is in the medical profession can enlighten me. I understand in many ways what is considered “private” is different for celebrities as opposed to non-celebs. I don’t know if that makes any difference to HIPAA or not. When I was a newspaper editor, I made calls to hospitals and they could confirm or deny a person was being treated there, but they couldn’t give anything else out. Those were not celebrities involved in those cases, though. It’s probably the Kardashian machine that is releasing info anyway, not the hospital, so it’s irrelevant.
@Amy Tennant, medical information of public figures is subject to exactly the same U.S. state and federal privacy laws as anyone else’s. I think what you may be thinking of is the fact that the burden of proof in the U.S. for defamation (slander or libel) is higher if the complainant is a public figure. But that makes no difference to the legal obligation of healthcare professionals to protect their patients’ privacy, regardless of whether the patient is a public figure.

What I read had the thing you said about the burden of proof for libel/slander, but it also had just a general statement about privacy issues also being different (didn’t get into specifics, so I wasn’t sure what all it covered). I think even if HIPAA wasn’t an issue, there would be ethical issues about disclosing that stuff. Heck, I’m no doctor– just a librarian! And our code of ethics also includes protecting someone’s privacy. If I require a warrant (at least!) before disclosing what book someone checked out, then I should expect medical professionals also to keep confidentiality.

My mother was in critical care last month, and the hospital required names of who could receive medical information about her condition. And only those named individuals were given a PIN to recite if calling in.

I’m not ashamed to admit that Lamar was the only player I liked on the Kobe-led Lakers (I’m a Heat fan). He was an awesome baller. Then things just went downhill. I’m not going to blame the Klan Who Shall Not Be Knamed. Lamar had so many things going on in his life and he just couldn’t cope. I really hope he pulls through and gets his life back on track.

This is very sad news but just like with Bobbi Kristina I’m not shocked. I think Khloe knew Lamar was an addict when she married him. He needed treatment but all that family cared about was money and ratings.
I believe Khloe genuinely cares for him, but the motivations of Kim and Kris are quite suspect. They spin everything into yet another storyline and milk every event for publicity and photo ops.
Lamar’s children are still so young – his daughter is still in her teens, I think, and his son is younger. I hope they don’t have to deal with Kardashian Kameras in all this. Not to mention Kardashian Hypokrisy.
I hope he pulls through and this will become a warning and not a tragic end to a sad life.
I guess it’s not over until it’s over. He’s still fairly young. It depends on what happened, whether or not his brain was deprived of oxygen or otherwise damaged by the event and what kind of damage has occurred to his vital organs. Organ failure can be reversible under the right circumstances. Will have to wait and see.
I hate to say this but I’m not shocked. It appears Lamar has always been abusing drugs and it’s just spiraled out of control in the last couple of years.
What sickens me most is the fact that the Kardashians will likely make this into a 4-part docuseries about their heartbreak over his addiction and claim it’s to bring awareness. To make a buck and bring humanity to their idiocy, they’ll do anything.

i agree. i can only imagine Khloe is distraught and her sister and mother are there to support her. maybe i’m naive to think that somewhere beneath the botox and butt implants, when times get rough, they are just a normal family that deeply love one another. i don’t think it is strange for her to be there and not his children. i don’t think it is necessary for young children to see their father fight through complications of a drug overdose after being pulled out of a brothel. my uncle drank himself into a coma and was literally found in a gutter behind his apartment building. he died a few days later but was so deformed and yellow by liver failure that he apparently looked like a monster. my cousins were in their teens and they truly wish they never ever saw him like that.

@Amy, this may have happened whether she stayed with him or not, Hopefully she won’t feel that way. My daughter’s fiance’s drug of choice was Xanax and couldn’t get it one night and tried heroin. That’s all it took. We buried him two years ago and I think she still blames herself because they had been fighting a lot and she had told him that day that they were done.

I think, and honestly would hope that if cameras are brought in for this and used for their damn show, the public will finally turn on them in a big way. It will be a line crossed that pushes things too far despite all their other questionable behaviors. PMK’s moral compass is non-existent when it comes to anything it seems, but if there is a shred of decency in her she’ll have some sense here. One can only hope.
ROL is reporting there are cameras there and they are definitely filming for the show. But, this is ROL and who knows if it is true or not.

I don’t think they’ll be able to resist. I doubt they’d be tactless enough to try to film in or around the hospital (and besides, I doubt the hospital would allow such a thing). But they would obviously try to address it on the show. They showed everything else, so I can’t doubt this would be any different. And you know they’d justify it by saying, “Well, we want to be real and let the viewers in on everything, so we had to include this!”
TMZ will fill in the void if E’ cameras are not around. Most of the reports seem to be coming from TMZ sources.

This is so damn tragic. If one can believe what TMZ says about his organs now failing, it really does not look good. Very sad. I was pulling for Lamar and hoping he could manage to turn it all around.
I’m certainly no fan of her family’s, but I feel sorry for Khloe as well. Their marriage only ended because he chose his addiction over her and their marriage. It really is a disease. As someone who has had people close to me struggle with drugs and alcohol I know that things like this are your greatest fear. I’m sure her biggest fear is a reality right now and for that, I really do feel sad for her.
I hope his kids have the support that they need during this terrible time.

Addiction and depression are truly sad truly scary. My heart breaks for Lamar and his family. He always seemed like a good guy just troubled. So true my sister was tell me about this last night. He seems, to have never gotten over the death of his mother, then his 6 month old son died of SIDS which is when he turned to drugs to deal with his depression and not to long ago his best friends commits suicide.

I went through this recently with a family member, and once you’re on those machines… you have to get off fast or else it’s not good. It’s a short window to have machines breathing for you.

I’m sure Momager is filming their rush to see him. They filmed the breakdown of that marriage when he was down and out and when he was in a fragile state. How do they know if what they said or did wouldn’t have pushed him over the edge? They didn’t care. Good TV to talk about his issues.
They have recently filmed Kourtney finding out Scott was cheating and the breakdown of their marriage, or reenacted her finding the photos online of him with another woman or Momager an some sister showing her. I don’t know which it was. I only saw the commercial and couldn’t believe how low they will sink..
They have no shame.
Part of me wants to think they would have more decency than that, but given their past storylines. nothing seems off-limits.
I have concern for Scott, because his parents passed away within a relatively short time, plus he has no siblings. I’m in that boat myself this year, and it is hard enough without having a circus like what Kris and Kompany bring to the table.
He may be an immature jerk, but he’s still human.
I just remembered why I quit looking at TMZ. I just went to their site to see if they had any updates & saw they had pictures/video of Lamar being put in (or maybe taken out of, I don’t know, I quickly passed the picture because I think it is so disrespectful) an ambulance. TMZ disgusts me. I now remember why I quit looking at them in the first place. When Paris Jackson was having so many problems after her Dad died, TMZ was obviously taking quotes directly from the Jackson family, who were calling the distraught/suicidal girl “dramatic.” I was so mad after that I haven’t looked at them since.
Anyways, I did tear up to see the Kobe Bryant rushed to Lamar’s bedside. & I know that the Kardashian’s are pretty well hated here, & it isn’t even that I like them, I maybe catch an episode of their show once a year when I am bored & nothing else is on, but I do feel like they are truly upset by this….even Kris. I think he & Khloe would still be together if he had gotten control of his addiction problems. I don’t know. Maybe I am just empathizing with them because when I hear of sad things like this, I tend to automatically think of how the person’s loved ones would feel. It’s just all so sad.
I’m with you. Not a big fan of the K’s but I have empathy for any family going through this.
I can’t stand Kris but TMZ, the ultimate exploiters without souls, posted a picture of her hysterically crying looking like a mess outside of the hospital by herself. You can tell the photo was taken from far away so it looks like she wasn’t trying to put on a show. There are no visible cameras around.
This is a tragedy, and until I’m shown otherwise, I actually believe they’re taking this seriously and not trying to exploit Lamar.
I do not give Mama Trashian the benefit of the doubt. It is because society keeps believing they have redeeming qualities why we can’t get rid of them. If that succubus major is crying outside the hospital and a picture surfaces (no matter how remotely taken) she set that ish up. A big gaping hole should open up and swallow her. Not good to have her level of Karma around hospitals at all…mere presence could suffocate the sick.
TMZ and the Kardashians like the Dairy Fail have a partnership. While I would like to believe it genuine emotion , I know that the two have a symbolic relationship so I’m very skeptical.
Praying for Lamar to make a Full recovery. Next thing came to mind. What is going on with the men in that family? Bruce is now Catelyn, Lamar is in a coma fighting for his life. Kourtney is left with three small children, Her baby daddy is a raging alcoholic and their 10 year relationship just blow up. Wonder what is going to happen to K West , just saying.

Is Scott a raging alcoholic? Or is that just a story they have been feeding the public about him? I don’t watch the show and I know it’s scripted so I do wonder.
If you do to the Daily Fail or TMZ both of which have a partnership with the Kardashians that all you’ll see. Not to mention the awful write ups about him, while praying Kourtney when she out parting. There are pictures of him and his kids out and about post split, those photos are hard to find on those sites because they don’t fit the narrative.
And what about Rob? He has been in hiding for what, a year? They emasculate every man that comes into their world. Khris Humphries is probably thanking his lucky stars every day that he got out practically unscathed.
How does Caitlyn transitioning even fit in with Lamar being in a coma or Scott maybe being an alcoholic?

Yet another cautionary tale that shows just because something is natural or “herbal”, doesn’t mean it’s safe. I can’t help but find it strange that a couple of weeks ago he was stalking and threatening Khloe, and now she’s by his side. I know that “the love never dies” etc..it just seems strange to me. I have a very bad feeling about all of this. I hope I’m wrong though.
I believe Khloe is there because she loves Lamar. Kris is there for the show -the show is trash but up til now its been harmless trash. This is a man’s life – he has children – it will be a step too far if they use this as a storyline – beneath contempt.
It’s odd that they can’t do an airlift of a tall person. I wonder what the height cutoff is. Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Look at his life pre-Kardashians. He was at the top of his game, happy, in good health. Now look at him.
First, I hope Lamar recovers fully and turns his life around. Very sad situation.
Second, the Kuntrashians have absolutely no shame and will milk this for all it’s worth. I’m sure Khlozilla brought a kamera krew with her to film her sorrow and inconsolability. These women are man poison.

Think of other families who have loved ones clinging to life in critical care as well. The last thing they need is a swarm of suddenly concerned K family members taking over what little shared space is available, or even filming, if those reports are to be believed.
Even if they are camped out in a separate space from other families, it’s still likely a distracting circus.
Why is everyone down on Khloe? She wasn’t the crack head who fucked around on him, she stood by him for way too long. Maybe his health issues are because of his drug use.
TMZ and Radar are both reporting that KUWTK was Lamars “trigger”… going so far as to say that the way he was portrayed on the latest episode is what “pushed him over the edge” Sources from inside the brothel are giving statements now. *Sigh*
I can’t stand the Klan, but I would not blame them for Lamars issues entirely. Yes he was very hurt by the set-up In the gym parking lot and he was angry that they dragged him every chance they got….but Lamar was/is a very sick man and only he can choose to save his own life. He and Khloe loved each other, I hope they both can find peace. Very sad.

I want to believe Khloe will have his best interests in mind as his legal wife. I want to believe that she truly loved him and was never taking advantage of him. I want to believe that she will at least allow him one shred of dignity before he goes, if he goes.
But it’s so hard to believe that treacherous family.

I hope that he recovers and gets well. And so help me God, if the Kardashians use this story-line on their show in the future and the public does not completely turn on them, I have no words. I loathe anything associated with that family, particularly the message they put out to young, impressionable girls and I have never even watched their show; I simply know of them through the internet because they are always all over it. I simply wish the public would stop supporting them. They have no talent, marginal intelligence, an obsession with vanity and cosmetic surgery and clearly have no morals/or boundaries if the stories are true that there are cameras at the hospital where Lamar is being treated.
I personally do not understand how they still have a show on the air. It is both incredible and sad that as a society, this ‘krap’ passes as entertainment.
