Looks like we spoke too soon with the whole “Khloe Kardashian is never going to leave Lamar Odom’s side” thing. Khloe returned to the fold this weekend as she debuted her new haircut on social media. It’s worth noting… this did not come from Khloe’s Instagram. Her hairstylist Jen Atkin posted this photo, and mostly it just looks like Khloe took out her extensions/weave and maybe got a trim. I also would love it if she found a way to go slightly darker, just because this shade of blonde looks SO fried.
As for Lamar, sources tell Us Weekly that he’s “doing much better, still little by little. He is still getting lots of treatment but getting better day by day.” This comes after TMZ reported, several days ago, that in the first wave of Lamar’s medical catastrophe, he suffered 12 strokes overall. Which is perhaps why Lamar has reportedly had such difficulty speaking, walking, etc. Sources tell Us Weekly that Khloe left the hospital on Friday and “She will still be going to see him but not staying there because he’s doing ok and wanted some alone time with his kids.” Previously, we heard that Lamar was doing so badly that only Khloe was allowed in to see him, but now it seems a bit better, hopefully. So much better that Khloe served up an ultimatum:
Khloe Kardashian isn’t stupid, and she’s ready to re-launch divorce proceedings if Lamar Odom shows any signs of going back to the world of drugs… so say sources connected with Khloe.
Our sources say Khloe is annoyed by people on social media who are calling her a naive for dropping the divorce. TMZ broke the story, Khloe and Lamar both signed off to dismiss the divorce case, which was all but final.
We’re told Khloe knows better than anyone about Lamar’s battle with drugs. Feelings aside, she’s game to drop the divorce party because Lamar has no one else in his life to help him recover. And, by the way, we’re told Lamar is on the Kardashian health insurance policy and he needs to stay on.
Lamar’s medical bills will total in the many millions, and our sources say he doesn’t have the financial wherewithal to handle it on his own. It’s murky, because if this were just about health insurance, Khloe could easily buy it for him and go through with the divorce. Bottom line … if he goes back to drugs, she’s gone.
All this time, I didn’t even consider the insurance angle. It’s strange that Lamar was still on the Kardashians’ insurance plan even though he and Khloe haven’t been together in years. Anyway, I believe that Khloe dropped the divorce for medical/insurance reasons too – her goal is short-term and she wants to get Lamar through this time before she thinks about whether their marriage is worth saving.

There is only so much one person can take, and she’s a young woman who doesn’t deserve to be dragged down by his addiction. This was his wake up call – he needs to take his second chance.
I would do exactly the same. This situation was in fact his ultimate wake up call. If he’s as wonderful as everyone says he is, he should hold on to this second chance like grim death. So many people who deserve second chances never get one. If he doesn’t appreciate life after this, then he is truly a fool. I respect the choices she has made up to this point. Hopefully he learns from this and finds success in all areas of his life with this “second life” he’s been given.
An addict is an addict. The fact that she loves him only conditionally is scary. Either she stays with him as he is or she doesn’t. This is why I prefer friendships with men over marriage. TAke then when you can, leave them when you can’t take them. A real friend has boundaries and shows tough love; a co-dependent can’t make up their mind.
One should also include that Khloe benefits from Lamar’s life insurance in the tune of 10 million dollars. It was part of their pre-nup and won’t change even if they divorce.
So yes – 10 million of reasons do make a difference in a thought process~
Why does she feel the need to take care of him?
This is going to sound really harsh, but I understand that they were married or are estranged now, but what does she owe him? Meaning, if she was done and over it, then why go back to take care of him?

I see what you’re saying Esteph and the reason she is around is because of issues of her own related to her famewhoring ways and/or codependency. So either way she’s sick herself and needs help.
Because she loves him? I always felt that Lamar and Khloe were genuine – they truly loved each other. Addiction is an awful thing. Lamar, at his best, is a good, upstanding person. He served as a mentor to many NBA rookies. He was an excellent basketball player. My guess is that he was still on the Kardashian’s insurance because he still had a contract (had not yet expired) for KUWTK. Insurance was likely part of that. If Khloe wanted to divorce him, she would have. If it were just about medical expenses or making decisions for him, she could easily pay for his care and could have gotten a healthcare POA signed. I think she loves him still.
In nys u have to keep spouse on insurance until divorced and then they have to come off. I would assume it’s same in Cali

The NBA Players Association now provides health insurance coverage to retirees and under the Affordable Care Act, no insurer can refuse coverage for pre-existing conditions. In the past, it made sense to stay married for insurance but not so much any more
but it also depends on how much it costs—they can’t refuse you for pre-existing but that doesn’t mean your premium isn’t impacted by pre-existing. and as someone stated above, the likelihood that his income hasn’t been significantly diminished due to his addictions is slim so maybe he can’t afford a single-payer plan right now. also, at least in my state, while you can agree to get your own insurance while going through a divorce, typically you cannot be kicked off the other party’s insurance until after the divorce is finalized.

I was already skeptical of the no-insuarance thing so thanks for confirming the doubt. This is just more of the Kardashian do-gooder narrative they’ve peddled from Day 1. Much like the miraculous recovery that enabled Khloe to lift the ban on his kids remarkably coinciding with the filming of a certain baby shower. If Khloe had pulled a Beyonce (don’t feed the rumor mill, don’t issue statements, clamp down on confidants), I would feel for her. As it is, she looks like shes living a romantasized story line which she narrates to the public by way of TMZ, E! and other celebrity news outlets.
+1000 There is no doubt Khloe will be filming her do gooder narrative at the baby shower! I find it deplorable this family has leaked so much private medical information on a daily basis since this began.
Khloe stated every chance she got that she still wanted to be married to Lamar and still loved him. So, now that he is at his rock bottom and may be ready for recovery, why would she continue divorce proceedings? If marriage is going to work, she needs to be involved and learning about recovery and how to be a support system without being an enabler. It is totally possible for them to heal their marriage through his recovery and spiritual awakening and her being educated.

There are a lot of comments on here that keep referring to their relationship as “co-dependent” and even call Lamar an abuser. I must’ve missed the memo because those comments don’t make sense to me. Not all addicts are abusive, awful people the way that stereotypes portray them. I also don’t understand all the comments as if Khloe has to be done with him because he was an addict. There are plenty of couples in this world who choose to work it out despite one of them having dependency issues. Plenty of husbands and wives stand by each other and help one another recover from drug or alcohol addiction–it doesn’t mean that they’re co-dependent or enablers.

Kudos to her for setting a healthy boundary or limit. There is nothing wrong with telling someone that this is their last chance.
I have NEVER (I would actually like to bold or underline the word NEVER) met an addict who was influenced by an ultimatum or by being told this is your last chance.
Let me add: When the addict is high on whatever drug you can not tell the addict anything, because the addict is just fine and feels good or more than good.
If the addict has no resource to the drug, the addict will tell you anything or do anything to get the drug.
…So what? You would think that everyone on these threads is an addiction counselor. Maybe she isn’t trying to singlehandedly change him by stating that if he can’t get it together this time, she’s done. Maybe she is simply telling him this so that he knows first and foremost that this will be the last time she goes through this with him. There is nothing wrong with that. Addicts are going to do whatever they want to do regardless, but at least she is setting boundaries for herself.
One more add: if the addict has resources to their drug, the addict will, in between, most likely agree with anything you say about how bad the drugs damage the addict`s life and relationships.

I agree. She has simply set the limit for her own behavior. Still up to him what he does next. It’s good to know your own line in the sand beyond which you will not go.
Setting boundaries is the easy part. Sticking to them is where it can be difficult, especially when dealing with addicts. People are known to keep giving chances or try to save and unknowingly enable.
If I was associated with anyone in the Kardashian/Jenner family I’d need drugs!

I’m sure he’s still on their insurance plan because they weren’t divorced yet. Legally, I had to keep my husband on my insurance plan until our divorce was final because I provided the coverage. I’m sure it’s the same for them, and she wasn’t feeling any financial pain due to cost. I don’t think it has anything to do with her or PMK trying to make them look good in the press. Also, lots of us try to save our marriage over infidelity, alcoholism, etc., because we love that person. For regular people, we don’t know the sordid details and what the wife/husband put up with. It is only that they are public people, so it looks really bad in their situation. She doesn’t need help, she’s just giving her husband a second chance because she loves him. And I think that’s especially true here because there doesn’t appear to be any other reason for her to be trying to make it work (kids, finances, etc.). I love them together and I really hope it works out for them.
I disagree with the first sentence that Khloe Kardashian isn’t stupid. This whole situation seems sorted and fabricated. She’s standing by him but only she knows why. Would all of this be happening if KUWTK were cancelled. Hate to be a naysayer, but everything this family does seems so ingenuous. Hope Lamar makes it, and dang If he does, he better embrace his life, since he came so close to losing it to drugs at a whorehouse.
Never get involved with addicts. You will never be happy or at peace. It’s always a struggle. They have so much darkness inside and they use everybody.

This is just a difficult decision-no real right or wrong answer. I do feel that people are more than their mistake(s), no matter how big, and that people deserve grace and a second chance. I also have experienced a family member with a drug addiction and you cannot trust what they say and you will get burned repeatedly. Hopefully, like others have said, he hangs onto this second chance and is humble and willing to work hard to change. If not, she should have peace of mind that she did what was right for her and she tried…

She had offered in the past, but then baby daddy Scott Disck shot down that plan as creepy and weird. Khloe is over the moon at having Lamars money child and securing a future of child support payments if Lamar does recover. Gee, and that Harden fellow seemed so promising, what with a career and no Hooker or drug addiction issues that are so out of control he nearly dies on the filthy floor of a brothel. Odom will eventually od and khloe will just be older when it happens. Because it will happen. You can’t watch someone 24/7.
I have come to LOATHE this type of contouring. To me it looks like those porcelain harlequin masks that were so popular a while ago, and let me just say that nobody looks human when they pile this shite on their face. Khloe is my exhibit A. She looks all kinds of redic and robotic. I especially hate it when her sisters don’t go back in with a rosy blush to give themselves something akin to a pulse. Ugh!
I think I remember an episode where Khloe was talking about how Lamar financially supported so many extra people that it was draining him even when he was making basketball money. I can’t imagine he’s got much money now.

I think she will stay with him no matter what, she did right by being by his side but look how she has stood with him the whole time in the hospital and that was after they separated. Now she has taken him back, dumping in essence her then healthy boyfriend for Lamar, drugged out and in a coma and then effectively renew their marriage. I can guarantee you she is going to stick with him, she is defined by him, she is addicted to him, that was just an empty threat, nothing will change.
