    Where is Luke?!?!?!?!

Is he dead or gone to the dark side???

    • Cee says:

Seriously, I need to see him!

    • Mia4s says:

Not that being dead ever stopped a Jedi from
      being around! 😉

No as I said below, I don’t think he’s dead or evil…but we are meant to think he is. Hidden, maybe missing? If he’s the only surviving full Jedi he will have quite a target on him.

    • the original Minty says:

He’s in the movie somewhere. Still not sure what side he’s on.

Earlier in the year, there was a teaser trailer that had Luke as the voice-over. Starting at 0:47, you can see Luke’s mechanical right hand as he places it on R-2. He’s in a cloak and his face is unseen.

Betting on Luke “fulfilling our destiny”… With his dad Darth… On the dark side…

    • Reece says:

      SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS!!!!!

Isn’t it Han and Leia’s son that goes dark?

      • Betti says:

Yes – a lot of people think Rylo Ken is their son. Not sure about Rey being their daughter.

And yes the theories are Luke has gone Dark Side and is why he’s not in the trailers/posters – it’s JJ’s big secrety secret reveal (much like his Khan in the 2nd ST movie – even thou everyone was saying for months before it came out that’s who Bendy’s character was).

      • Carol says:

Luke going to the dark side destroys the entire Star Wars series. I seriously hope JJ has better sense than that.

  2. smcollins says:

Yep, never fails…every time I watch a SW trailer I get all excited and choked up at the same time. Can’t wait!

  3. Cait says:

    CANNOT WAIT OMG.

    ::fans self::

  4. H says:

In that last scene TBA trailer is she crying over something furry, maybe like Wookie? Please no. Maybe I am seeing things or having flashbacks to bad SW book.

  5. Mia4s says:

Needs more Oscar Isaac…I warn you this will be an ongoing theme with me.

Luke is the big “mystery box” (ugh) reveal here. I know nothing but I would suspect he’s not evil, but that he is missing or presumed dead. It’s also possible he’s struggling with darkness and left to protect his family (by family I mean Leia and Han, no idea about kids or whatever). I just don’t see them going full Darth with Luke since it would be such a wild departure from where we last saw him.

  6. EN says:

It looks good, but I can’t get over my dislike of the actress that plays the lead. She is so bad. Every scene I see her , I go – uggh, she so can’t act, she stick out like a sore thumb.

    • Sorbonne says:

This. the more trailers i watch the more horrible the movie seems to be. The voices alone are a complete mess.

      • RocketMerry says:

        +1
I’ll go see this, but my expectations are way low. I’m almost certain the plot is going to be a recycled mix&match of the previous episodes, and the acting from the young white lead seems… yeah, it’s not going to be good. But I’ll pay up, anyways.

    • Magpie says:

      I like her! I don’t think she’s wooden!

Also love that carrie Fischer is on the poster. Yay!

    • Original T.C. says:

I think this is her first movie role which is odd for the lead of a multi-billion dollar franchise.

      • Betti says:

JJ wanted unknowns and it was an open casting call (meaning anyone could audition) – John Boyega is the other new lead but he’s experienced and very talented. You can tell from the trailer that she doesn’t have a lot of experience – she went to a performing arts school as a teenage and it doesn’t look like she went onto drama school (as a lot of them do).

      • EN says:

I don’t understand taking that kind of risk in a multibillion dollar franchise. There are plenty unknown actors who actually have proven that they can act why take someone who is so green?
Even Goop is miles ahead of her in the acting department, this girl is not even good enough for a local theater production.

      • leif says:

I have never seen this girl in anything. I searched her up and she only has had bit roles in TV shows. She doesn’t even have a proper resume like John Boyega and the rest of the new actors do. I don’t know why JJ casted her but her acting seems poor even from the trailers.
I mean, atleast when Ewan McGrgor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen were chosen they had roles in movies previously and a proper resume. Hayden even had a GG nomination despite people calling him a bad actor because of SW. Why is JJ casting people with little to no experience?

    • Betti says:

She irritates me – don’t know why. It might be that she has a perm constipated face most of the time you see her in the trailer; scared, upset, thinking.. – its the same facial expression for almost every emotion. She’s not very experienced and I think her performance will be forgettable, particularly as she’s been cast against very experience and classy actors. Gleeson, Issacs, Driver, Christie (not to mention the old cast); and the other newcomer Boyega is a VERY good actor who will go far.

JJ has previous for casting woman who are there just as window dressing, see Alice Eve in the 2nd ST – looks great, character didn’t do much and she just ain’t that great an actress.

    • leif says:

I agree. You don’t even have to see the whole movie to know she is bad. She is terrible even in the trailers. This movie itself doens’t look very good to be honest. Only the prequel haters say it will be good but this girls acting seems even worse then Hayden Christensen’s and Natalie Portman’s.

  7. vauvert says:

It looks great to me. Just seeing Han and Leia – older, grizzled, but still ready to fight on… that’s all I need. I could swear that was young Luke in the very quick shot of the pilot wearing the helmet in the flying fighter scene but I am sure that’s just wishful thinking. I think he is captive, and they need to rescue him.
I will be in the theatre the first day:-)

This trailer is a better edit than the last. I can’t wait to see this.

  10. InvaderTak says:

They’re overhyping this IMO. I’m already a bit sick of it.

Can’t wait to see Alice Through the Looking Glass.
