If no one in Michael's family has sat down with him and told him that he needs to be careful with his alcohol intake, than they are doing him a dis-service. When my son reached the age of 21, and I knew he would be drinking, I sat down with him and explained that my father battled alcoholism for many years. I explained that the disease can be genetically inherited and that he needed to recognize this if he was going to drink. My son has never forgotten that conversation and he does his best to drink responsibly and in moderation. Michael is an extremely gifted athlete who will have to learn how to deal with the pressures and stresses that come along with being famous. There's no reason he can't enjoy a public night out every now and then, however, there's every reason in the world that he should be responsible and honest about his use of alcohol and the actions he takes while under its influence.
