  1. Abbott says:

I dig The Huntsman trailer music. If this is supposed to be a sequel, how are they going to explain away Snow White? Is she off getting her Mini Cooper err… detailed?

    • Lena says:

      It’s a prequel, not a sequel.

      • Abbott says:

THR and Variety say it takes place right after the events of the 2012 film.

      • WILZ says:

it’s both, starts as a prequel then a sequel where the evil queen is reborn from the mirror with the help of her sister the ice queen lol

    • mia girl says:

Maybe they’ll say Snow White went away to college or something.

    • Lou says:

Nah, she’s off working for Olivier Assayas, Karl Lagerfield, Ang Lee, Woody Allen, Kelly Reichardt and (hopeful;ly) getting to make out with Chloe Sevigny – upgrade, i would say!

      • Guest says:

The shoot she did with Karl Lagerfeld is atrocious. Hapers Bazaar published some of the photographs and she looks bad in all the outfits Karl chose for her. Clips from the film he is going to release on Dec. 1 are appearing online and they look even worse

      • Lou says:

        cool story, bro!

    • Mia4s says:

Yah a movie with three female leads!

      *watches trailer*

Oh. Well, umm…yeah I’ve got nothing.

Not really a mini-cooper problem I believe. They dumped Snow White because this was a bubble movie, not a smash hit and Stewart would have had a rich sequel option thanks to Twilight afterglow. That’s faded, so she wasn’t worth what they would have had to pay her. It’s a fickle business.

      • Lou says:

Actually the producer was always going to do a movie centred around the Huntsman, even before SWATH came out he spoke about this. I don’t think Kstew lost anything – she certainly doesn’t need the $, she’s getting great roles with prestige directors and her agent/manager would have been really dumb to advise her to do the sequel and dredge up all that overblown scandal. I reckon she ran a mile. I’m frankly shocked that this was the best ‘franchise’ Emily Blunt’Jessica Chastain were offered.

      • Dani2 says:

@Lou Lol I doubt she “ran a mile”, I recall reading an interview on indiewire when she was doing promo for that Jack Kerouac film and she said she was excited about the Snow White sequel.

      • Lou says:

That was literally 2 weeks after the big scandal. What else could she say when asked? Perspective is a good thing. It’s known as the sequel nobody asked for, so it’s no loss. She got paid $5 million for the first one, a nice top up to her Twilight $. Onwards and upwards.

      • Mia4s says:

Sequel option. If they wanted her they would have had her. I’m not saying that’s good or bad I’m saying it was likely a financial decision and not because she cheated with a married man. They likely could afford the option on either her or Hemsworth and they chose him.

      • Lou says:

.. um yeah, because they were planning on doing a movie centered on the Huntsman the whole time. Check what the producer Joe Roth said before SWATH ever came out. They didn’t suddenly decide to bump up Chris Hemsworth’s role. It was planned all along. Critics of Kristen like to paint a different picture, but the quotes are there, all dated and such!

      • Mia4s says:

LOL! You’re obviously deeply invested here @Lou, OK I’ll let it go. If the movie had made more money and been a critical smash they wouldn’t have brought her back anyway. They stuck to their artistic vision. Sure. OK. 😏

      • Emma - The JP Lover says:

Lou is right. There was always talk of a ‘Huntsman’ prequel, fleshing out the backstory introduced in “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Remember? He’d become a drunkard because of some painful history with the Queen that caused the death of his wife. And since that past life involved the Queen, Charlize was always going to come back for the prequel. What I’m wondering is if the Queen’s creepy brother will be in the prequel as well.

I’ll definitely see this film! I love Emily Blunt, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, and Jessica Chastain. Emily has a bit of height on her as well, so 5′ 10″ Charlize and 6’3″ Chris Hemsworth won’t tower over her as badly as they did Kristen Stewart. 🙂

      • Lou says:

@Mia4s – I am as invested as you, except i’m going on actual facts, and as Emma says, I am correct. Now, lets let it go 🙂

    • Vesta says:

Maybe there’s going to be a twist? A frosty little Mini Cooper with studded winter tyres is coming to take these phony & calculated looking characters down. Othewise I’m not going to see this…

    • Rachel says:

Eh. I’m not even sure at this point if it’s a prequel or a sequel or what? But who am I kidding. I’ll watch it when it comes out in redbox. Although I am not buying Emily Blunt’s white blonde wig. You are no Khaleesi, Emily Blunt.

    • Evie says:

Who IS that? She resembles that Blunt woman, if so, then that’s an automatic flop.

    • Div says:

      @Mia4s
You are mostly right. I remember reading that while they originally planned on a spin-off in the beginning even before the film was released, they had to cut the budget down so they ditched Kristen because they thought Chris was a safer bet and her storyline was pretty much wrapped up in a neat bow anyway. Charlize was originally not supposed to come back either. It all became a hot mess after the scandal though because it was seen as if they were firing her but keeping the equally if not more guilty director because of the scandal and so there were firings, re-hirings and firings again, and they were roundly criticized by a few media sources for making it only about Chris’s character. So when they wrote the script they brought back Charlize and added some female characters…but then it sounded like the budget went crazy again even if they originally planned to try and keep it fairly low.

It was a moderate hit that didn’t really justify a spin-off or sequel and so it’s bizarre that they did one, especially when you consider the mess that happened after the first film. Plus, is it just me or did they completely rip off Elsa’s look from Frozen and combine it with GOT?

  2. paolanqar says:

Kylie and Kendall are so very dull. even more when they’re not around Kris or kim. they couldn’t get me to buy peanuts let alone clothes from their new range.
In fact.. the only person with a strong personality in that family is Kris. SHe’s basically the human Big Bang. She has created a whole lot with nothing.

  3. Sarah01 says:

    She looks incredible!!

  4. Maya says:

Not even Thor will be able to save this one.

I like Chris and Jessica so I might watch it to see if they have a good chemistry.

    • Not really says:

Chris is incapable of carrying a movie. Thor sales are built on the built-in Marvel audience, the writing and Loki. Snow white sold on the backs of Charlize, Cristine and the Snow White retake. Chris own movies dont really make money. His movie earlier this year, produced at 70 million made only 7 million. Vacation made money but he is the fifth credit presumably playing a pretty boy against a very strong comedic cast, it wasnt sold on his name. Rush would be his most successful movie but even that underperformed by studio projections. They were shooting for atleast 150 million, it brought back 90. And that was right smack in the middle of a Thor film and an impending Avengers film. This movie will be sold under Charlize, Blunt, Charstain and the Disney retake premise…….

  5. Susa says:

Curious why you hate the Flip or Flop couple so much. That is some strong emotion there, haha!

    • Konspiracytheory says:

      Me too!

    • TQB says:

Ugh, they are the worst. I love all things home reno and I can’t sit through an episode of that show.

      • I Choose Me says:

They are! Her I can take or leave but he absolutely rubs me the wrong way because he always has to get his way. Plus be barely ever engages with his daughter. I thought it was just me.

      • Mixtape says:

Agreed, they’re the worst. Her Valley Girl accent is grating, but at least when she voices her opinion, it is usually about things that are spot-on. He is just one continual flip-flop wearing tantrum.

    • katie says:

I don’t like them either. She’s very, I don’t even have a word for her, and he’s sort of, well I can’t put my finger on that either.

  6. Jag says:

I will watch it for Chris and Charlize. I don’t like Charlize, but think that she really rocks this role! If Emily were the only lead, I wouldn’t watch it at all. And I’m a Chris Hemsworth loony, so will always watch anything he does. lol

    • Birdix says:

Agreed that Blunt looks like the weak link here. Theron could eat her for breakfast.

    • Emma - The JP Lover says:

LOL! What’s your damage with Emily Blunt? She can act, she’s extremely pretty, she has incredible screen presence, and acting chops. She has also shown that she can handle serious drama, comedy, and action roles. I’ve been impressed with Emily Blunt since her delightful performance in “The Devil Wears Prada.”

  7. Mitchie says:

Oh, Grace you silly whack-a-doodle, the Rolling Stones aren’t so-called old…they ARE old! And seriously, Keith Richards has barely been able to hold himself up since the 70’s. That’s hard to watch. I keep expecting him to fall over and no one noticing the difference. Lay off Fleetwood Mac. You’re just coming of jealous and spiteful.

  8. Lou says:

Jessica Chastain is always watchable but the trailer is very meh. Points for Halsey though

  9. Colette says:

Subway Jared sentenced to 15 years. He has to serve at least 13 years in Federal prison

    • antipodean says:

Very good news about this piece of excrement, although in my view they should just throw away the key. If true justice is done, he will not leave prison in an upright position. I hope he lives the rest of his days trying to keep his back to the wall. I wonder if his ex-wife will change her and her childrens’ names? She should, and then go on to live a happy and Jared free life. Much as Anna should.

    • Mitchie says:

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the American Federal prison basically like a spa for the rich criminals. I remember when Jim Bakker was jailed, and the place he was put seemed like a place people with no money would dream to spend time in.

      • Tiffany :) says:

It depends on the crime and the level of prison they are sent to. I believe there are five different types of prisons, Minimum Security, Medium Security, Close Security, Maximum Security, and Supermax. These different levels can be run by state or federal gov’t.

Non-violent “white collar crimes”, like Bakker’s fraud, are usually served minimum security prisons with nicer facilities with less restrictions.

      • Mitchie says:

Thank you Tiffany, I appreciate that. I certainly hope he’s sent to some hard time and not Camp Subway. I would assume that’s the male version of Camp Cupcake.

      • Tiffany :) says:

I hope he goes to a higher level prison too. The audio recordings of him talking so casually about strategically grooming children in order to harm them is one of the worst things I have ever heard. He is a dangerous, selfish predator. 15 years is better than what the prosecutor asked for, but it seems tiny when you think some people get 25-life for selling crack.

    • Snazzy says:

Did you see that he blamed his actions on his diet?
      Yes, it’s a turkey sandwich’s fault that you’re a sick jackass…

  10. Tig says:

The costuming in the first one was amazing, and these look great too. I enjoy Emily B in about everything I’ve seen her in, so I’ll prob go see this.

  11. Mew says:

Emily Blunt is the plastic queen, more likely. Poster makes it all look very fake and plastic-y. Whatever.

  12. alice says:

what an awful trailer! I makes me want to NOT watch the movie at all. Anyway some considerations: that modern music is completely anticlimactic for a tale fantasy movie, it totally misplaced the story and I’d rather listen to some orchestra music with this kind of movie. Then there’s Emily Blunt completely miscast: if I have to think of an icy Queen she would never come to my mind: I’d rather see Jessica Chastain playing Emily’s part, and vice versa, switching with Emily playing the warrior.

  13. Ainsley says:

Buuuut didn’t the queen die in the first one? Y’know, when snow white stabbed her in the heart?

  14. amilu says:

I USED TO hate the Flip or Flop couple until my hate-watching of the show turned into genuine like. They don’t bother me as much now…especially since I learned that Tarek is a cancer survivor.

  15. Jwoolman says:

For a later installment of links: there is now an iPhone app to block Kardashian content on the web! It’s called K-Blocker. Too soon to tell how well it works, but the idea is really funny and the reviews of it should be interesting once (like the Kardashians) it spreads.

    • Happy21 says:

I didn’t know if you were serious so had to check it out, lo and behold there it was! How fun! How snarky! I love it!

  16. Die Zicke says:

It’s definitely a little over the top, but I adore the actresses. I saw Jessica Chastain in Crimson Peak, which is also a little over the top and I loved her in that role. I also really enjoyed Charlize Theron in the first movie. I think it’s going to be a really fun movie, if a bit silly.

The only thing is that after watching Jessica Chastain as Lucille, I kind of wish she was the Ice Queen. And although I haven’t seen it, Emily Blunt was apparently fantastic and bad ass in that movie with Tom Cruise, so maybe she could have been the Warrior instead.

  17. Tiffany says:

Man, now I have to watch a movie with Kevin Hart.

  18. Reece says:

I’ll probably watch this one like the other, for the costume pork! While vehemently trying to ignore the over/under acting.

  19. neutral says:

Is this another Thor movie, or just Chris playing the same part?

    • meh says:

Thor movie plus and adult version of Elsa from Frozen inserted to try to grab some Disney fan girls. Hard pass for me.

  20. Camille says:

It looks dumb, possibly worse than the first one. And I cannot stand Charlize and her over acting in these movies. Irritates the heck out of me.

  21. browniecakes says:

Wonder if the actresses got paid what Chris got paid.

  22. Miss M says:

I am in the minority here, but I want to see this movie!
“Halle Berry is being suspiciously quiet”
She always creates drama around Thanksgiving. Let’s wait and see…

    • Jess says:

I’m with you! I thought the trailer looked awesome (I’ve watched at least five times today), I love the music (I’m now obsessed with Halsey), and I like all three of the female leads. And I love Thor even more because he seems so chill about working with strong female leads. Sexy and confident – yummy. So I can’t wait to see this in the theater!!

  23. Tracy says:

In the last movie, Charlize over acted and Chris and Kristen underacted. And the script was weak. However the visual were great. The last movie suffered because of bad direction.

Based only on the trailer, Charlize overacts, Chris underacts and the script is weak.

  24. Anon says:

Am I the only one who doesn’t like Chastain as a warrior? First of all, I’m so sick of her. I don’t like her with Hemsworth,I’m not feeling it

  25. CK says:

I’m actually pretty excited for this. Do I expect to be mind blowing? No, but Jessica Chastai, Emily Blunt, and Charlize Theron in high fantasy drag is not something that I can pass up on. I also love a good hammy evil queen role and there’s two this go round.

  26. familard says:

    Pan

  27. Nudie says:

This looks soooo dumb. Boring. And I love Jessica and Emily!

  28. Bethie says:

Colin Morgan has a small role in this movie, therefore I will see it. Probably not at the theatre, though.

  29. melior says:

I don’t get all the criticism for Snow White and the H. It was a lot better that this sequel. Kristen did a great job as Snow White, they should have kept her in the sequel. Even though I like Chastain a lot, I’m not at all convinced by her acting (or her part) in this movie. Oh, and Charlize overacts terribly. It was not as obvious in the first movie. Blunt would have been better cast as a fairy than an evil Queen. The costumes are also over the top. It’s like seeing people playing dress-up. All in all, this a mess.

  30. raincoaster says:

Does ANYONE think Emily Blunt has the sheer charisma to sell that character? I get she’s the Ice Queen and all, but you need to be INTENSELY the ice queen to make this interesting. The Bland, Pale One In The Middle is not a role anyone will pay to see.

  31. danielle says:

Emily is a good actress, but nothing amazing, and I really don’t think she’s charismatic or beautiful, so it’s confusing to me because I usually see everyone praising her so much lol
