I love the color of the coat, but the fastenings are too much. why buttons AND a zipper AND a belt?
It almost seems like a patch job, where something happened to the top part and that was all the person mending the coat could find to repair it.
I see what you mean. I do like the whole ensemble but it looks like it (the coat) looks better from a distance. Now. It looks like two individual pieces: a cut up jacket slung over a wool coat; not one piece seen together.

Is she going to be in any upcoming movies? Yes, she’s known for her style, but she had a red hot acting career. I haven’t heard about any movies she’s in or going to be in. What happened? She’s so talented.
I think she’s on Broadway right now (hence all the sidewalk struts), and she has a part in the new Star Wars movie.
Oh she’s on Broadway? I’m surprised by that. I was sure she’d be busy with big Hollywood movies? Yes, she is in the new Star Wars movie but that was shot almost 2 years ago.

Be fair. Lupita was never going to have the career arc that blonde IT girls get. Not that those girls dont have it rough but at least they have access to love interest roles to keep them on screen until the next great role (if that role ever comes). She is doing very well considering. Broadway plus shes completed work on Star Wars and the Jungle Book.

Lupita went from her 1st role of anything major to the top (Oscar) and taking a step back to Broadway is smart. Not because racism made it her only decent choice.
And it’s a chance to work on her acting. Gain more “cred” from peers and community.
She took a calculated move and it’s a disservice to say she made it over racism.
@FLORC: Lupita’s opportunities have been shockingly underwhelming, to the point where there was a lot of criticism about it last year. Not only after winning the Oscar, but spending 6 months working the Oscar circuit and making those professional connections, Lupita should have had years worth of steady work booked. And yet it took forever for her to even get the voice role. And pretty much every finger has pointed to the fact that she’s black.
Star Wars was not shot almost two years ago. They shot the film in 2014. They wrapped in October 2014.
I love the whole outfit except for the bag. But then I’m not a bag person so.
Besides her hat and sunglasses, that entire outfit is terrible. Can’t decide if I hate the shoes or the coat more.

Particularly based on the clue of the producer of her show having a history of dealing with the impact substance issues can have on the production of a TV program. Chuck Lorre is the producer of Faris’ program and he was famously the producer of Two and a Half Men.

Very disappointed to hear Kim Kardashian will cameo on Absolutely Fabulous. The woman can’t even convincingly act as herself on her own show. I hate it when movies do this, bringing in famous people who are incompetent actors. It really pulls down the whole production, and that flaw stays forever. Not that Kim isn’t appropriately vapid for the typical Absolutely Fabulous story…. But she lacks the talent to make it seamless.
