Did Stella McCartney recently get some fillers, Botox or plastic surgery?

stella IG

This is an Instagram posted by Vogue editor Suzy Menkes. The IG was of Stella McCartney at the opening of her store’s holiday window in London. People noted that Stella looks… different. To be fair, this isn’t a well-lit red carpet shot. The overheard light makes everyone look different. But still… people are talking. People are wondering if Stella got some work done on her face.

Her father sang Can’t Buy Me Love with The Beatles, but fashion designer Stella McCartney seems to have been able to acquire a strikingly different face. Sir Paul McCartney’s 44-year-old daughter hosted a Christmas party at her Mayfair store this week, but it was her looks that sparked far more interest than her frocks.

When Vogue international editor Suzy Menkes posted this photograph of Stella online, she was bombarded with comments about the designer’s noticeably plump cheeks, smooth forehead and full lips. ‘What’s happened to her face?’ demanded one fan of Stella’s usually glamorous looks.

Another — most unfairly — compared her with the scary character from horror film Child’s Play: ‘She looks like Chucky’s sister. I’m shocked! What happened to growing old gracefully?’

[From The Daily Mail]

I noticed – but did not post – photos of Stella at the British Fashion Awards last Monday, and so I’m including those pics below. Those photos – more than the Instagram pic – convince me that she has had some work done. I do think that some women get into their 30s and 40s and suddenly their cheekbones “pop” for whatever reason, whether it’s weight loss or age. That is not what’s happening here. Stella has always had a round face, almost a baby-face. And now suddenly she looks pulled tighter than Madonna and she’s got big, high “cheekbones”? Nah, man. She’s been worked on. Here are some pics from the BFAs:

And here are some photos of Stella’s babyface in 2014. She’s totally had work done! I think she might have gotten a “ribbon lift,” which is the same thing that made Madonna look so ghoulish for years.

Sad.. she was way prettier before, plastic surgery is not natural and you can always see it

    • Lahdidahbaby says:

Looks like the Joker. Sorry, but it’s true.

Get those cheek pads out, Stella, get ’em out.

    • Lizzie McGuire says:

Yeah she looks great in the 2014 pictures plus the color she’s wearing suits her.
I wanted to blame the light & the weird position in the Instagram pic but she did do something to her cheeks. Goop needs to do an intervention ASAP “no more cheek fillers, Stella!”

    • bellenola says:

I mean, what is up with the cheek fillers? They NEVER look good, right?

      • Lahdidahbaby says:

Yep, Agreed. I have never seen a single instance of it that looked right or real, much less actually good.

      • Ankhel says:

No, they don’t. These are the worst ones I’ve seen since Jada Pinkett Smith got hers, though. You can see in the older pics of Stella that she’d gotten injections – botox and fillers, her bottom lip’s definitively plumped. But it wasn’t too bad then.

Sadly it’s shocking when women in Hollywood over 35-40 don’t have anything done. There are ways to give more prominent cheekbones without surgery ,and injections are not considered surgery. Personally I do not like that bulging cheek.

  3. Birdix says:

Where do I look? Because I don’t see an obvious difference from the 2014 photos.

  4. LAK says:

Definitely added cheek fillers. They make her nose look pinched.

    Don’t suit her at all.

  5. Tiffany says:

Before she started messing with her face, you can tell she was her mother’s daughter.

  6. Sarah says:

    Woah, totally overboard! Looks like:
    Cheek fillers
    Small chin implant?
And the increasingly popular forehead filler/maybe small implant (makes the forehead rounder and minimizes a strong jaw. Think, Olivia Munn, I also think Selena Gomez might have gotten her forehead done)

    • Ally8 says:

Omg, I don’t know how people can stand the sensation of foreign matter like this in their face.

  7. missmerry says:

I dunno, I wish I could add a screenshot to my comment because I googled her image at the 2011 Met Gala and her nose looks similarly pinched and her cheeckbones looks similar to me.

Side by side I don’t see much of a difference, but by themselves, these images look like she’s had work.

image from her in 2011: http://media.onsugar.com/files/2011/05/18/1/192/1922153/446ead6f77902765_Stella-McCartney.jpg

    • LAK says:

It’s clear from that picture that she hasn’t done anything to her nose.

She’s definitely done something to her cheeks because her regular face is flat with no pronounced cheekbones.

The added cheekbones have made her nose seem MORE pinched which gives impression that she’s done something to it, but it’s only the cheeks that have been altered.

      • JenniferJustice says:

Other sites say she also had a small foreheard implant. WTW! Never knew that existed. Supposedly they’re used on faces with strong jawlines to minimize the jaw. Wow! What will they think of next?

  8. Anniefannie says:

Is it me or in the 2nd pic does it look like she has major facial hair. I can’t stop looking?!?

    • Yummymummy says:

I also noticed the face fur! I have soft pale peach fuzz too and I hate it. Too light to laser, too sensitive to wax. Thinking of trying dermaplaning

  9. Jillie says:

Re: the comment about women’s cheekbones popping when women are in their 30s/40s–

Cheekbones emerge with age as we lose the layer of subcutaneous fat. I’ve definitely benefitted from that.

    • Denise says:

Yes, the bone structure is more obvious as you lose volume in your face. It benefits some women, others just look gaunt. But that’s totally different from getting fillers that plump out the cheeks and make you look like Madam.

    • Elisa the I. says:

same here. I always had a round face but now my cheekbones start to show, although I actually gained weight this year. Several of my friends have asked me what I have done to my face, that there is sth different, etc. But it really is just age and in my case sth positive. 🙂

In the header photo in the link to this article, I couldn’t figure out who she looks like now but it just hit me – Princess Charlene of Monaco!

  11. fashionista says:

Filler to her jowls and I think she looks much better in the top photos than the ones in the blue dress. Aging “naturally” is not for everyone, let’s not go crazy on her because she intends to fight it!

  12. Kelly says:

She looks so much like Princess Charlene of Monaco. Love Paul, don’t care for her too much as she seems to have been painted with the insufferable brush of la Gwyneth.

  13. BendyWindy says:

    Shades of Princess Charlene.

  14. chilicat says:

She looks like Lindsey Lohan. I don’t know whether that’s an insult to Lindsey or to her

  15. vespernite says:

I have never liked this woman and always found her to be totally unattractive, due mostly to her personality.

  16. khaveman says:

Possible brow lift? Come on, it’s not that extreme. I’ve seen some scary work! This is not it.

  17. magz says:

I thought it was a lindsey lohan post. It might be her filled up lips.
