Kim Cattrall’s young lover wants babies

Kim Cattrall has always been a fan of the younger men, in film, television and life. After her last divorce, fifty-something Kim took up with a twenty-something lover, chef Alan Wyse. Just another cougar love story, right? Not so much. Kim and Alan have been getting serious – serious enough that they are living together. And now Alan wants to take the next step. No, not marriage. He wants to adopt with Kim. She’s not having any of it, though. According to Star Magazine, Alan’s biological clock is ticking, and he’s close to giving Kim an ultimatum:

Sex and the City sexpot Kim Cattrall has her claws out, clashing with her much-younger boyfriend over having a baby together!

The 52-year-old vixen and her live-in lover, chef Alan Wyse, 29, are definitely not on the same page when it comes to cooking up a family.

“Alan is complaining that his biological clock is ticking. He’s having paternal pangs and wants a baby,” a source close to Kim tells Star.

“When he suggested they sign up with an adoption agency, Kim said, ‘No way!'” Kim is past her mothering years and completely satisfied with their life as is, says the source.

“But for Alan, it’s the natural progression of things to want to build a family with the woman he loves. It’s not going to happen, though. Kim made it clear from day one that babies were never going to be on her agenda.”

[From Star Magazine]

One of the reasons I’ve always like Kim is that she never paid lip-service to a desire for motherhood. Whenever she was asked nosy questions about babies, she always shot them down quickly and efficiently. I admired her for it, because women in the public eye often feel the need to soften their images with incessant talk of babies. Kim always stood out that way. So why would her young lover suddenly think that she was down with being maternal in any way, shape or form? If Kim was always honest with the press, you can bet she was honest in her relationships. If this Alan Wyse really feels that strongly about his biological clock, he should leave. But he shouldn’t try to act like he was surprised.

that header pic of her is really unflattering…

Love her and her “cougar” ways. Her boyfriend should get a puppy, which, I’ve found, can be every bit as high-maintenance as a child (especially after you’ve spoiled them rotten).

  6. Because I Say So says:

Good point, J Ferber! He should get an animal. Can’t think he really thought he would change her. He is fantastically ugly and I think she can do much, much better

  7. ash says:

I’m starting to see the word “ultimatum” a lot in all of these articles. Quite funny.

  8. raunnie says:

At least Kim doesn’t pretend to want babies, unlike some celebs. It is unfair for Alan to be putting this pressure on her when she has been clear about it all along.

  9. lisa says:

I can’t imagine procreating with that fug piece of man.

  10. Ellen Smith says:

to HEB: I agree totally. I’ve said this often about famous and non-famous couples.

  11. Ggirl says:

I have always been a fan of Kim Cattrall as well because she has always been direct about what she thinks. What you see is what you get. Her boyfriend looks kind of weird. Can’t he just get a dog instead?

  12. lrm says:

Puppies are WAY more high maintenance than a child, and children are much more fun. And,children you can take with you…you know,on airplanes, restaurants, etc. Of course, that is changing,as the especially west coast, dog culture gets over the freakin’ top. yes, animals have rights, and intelligence and are great, loving company. BUT,they are NOT the same as human relationships.
You may say they are better, but that’s a cop-out b/c you cannot have decent human relationships.
If you are human, then don’t dog humans…[no pun intended]. Enjoy your pets, but don’t suggest someone have one as a substitute.
And children grow into, hopefully, adults. People who want a perpetual child in their pets seems to appreciate such co-dependency,as it gives them a feeling of being needed, and in control. And if you must have your pets for unconditional love, perhaps you don’t appreciate being challenged,or feel the need to grow.
I’m sick and tired of people comparing dogs to children! children are the same species as adults, for crying out loud! They are not some ‘other creature’.
And stop treating your dogs like humans, ppl! Do not put clothes on them,or have halloween or birthday parties for them.

Such desparate acts,to me,only show how innate it is for adult humans to want a family and ‘dependents’ [ie,children].

Yea,enjoy your pets and animal companions, but don’t make them into faux-human minions. It’s ridiculous and dysfunctional.

I cannot wait until this madness with the dogs is over-talk about a fad. Living in so cal,it’s appalling how many people think their dogs take precedent over children playing ball,at a local park. And these are not dog parks, and are meant to be leash only. So,yes,I take affront to suggesting someone get a puppy, when they have clearly stated that they want children. Babies and puppies are NOT the same, and if you spent a few minutes holding a baby, you’d know this. The only similarity is being needed/loved by both, and needing to care for both.

Of course, this Catrell beau prob. needs to move on,if Kim doesn’t wants kids. Which is entirely natural and normal, and is her perogative. I don’t think everyone should want or have children;I just don’t want them compared to dogs.

    Obviously not a parent.

  14. Ggirl says:

Wow people. I didn’t mean to get everyone riled up over the dog comment. I am a parent AND a dog owner. I happen to love children AND dogs. Its possible.

God, she looks like she has had surgery…. She said in an earlier aticle she wouldn’t… lost credibility in my eyes..

Well he’s likely gay and her pipes are dried up, so good luck with that.

“Puppies are WAY more high maintenance than a child, and children are much more fun.”

Except that a dog dies after ten years or so and you are stuck with a child for life, haha!

(sorry about the last two posts…computer seems to have a hiccup!)

  18. Chicoulino says:

I don’t think she had work done. Her face looks like a normal 50 year old face. She has also put on weight.Don’t get me wrong, she looks fantastic. We are so used to plastic faces these days, that we forgot what normal women should look like.
I beleive that all people are not meant to become parents.
The biggest mistake people make in relationships is trying to change your other half.It never works out!

  19. ChristinaT says:

i dunno… it kinda looks as though her face has stiffened up… as if she’s having difficulty smiling… consequences of too much botox normally…

  20. Julia says:

I think it is just the expression they have caught her with in this pic – hard to call surgery from one split second photo…
