Teresa Giudice was released from federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, last week after serving nearly a year’s sentence on multiple counts of federal, bankruptcy and wire fraud. Teresa and her husband, Joe Giudice, bilked creditors out of millions of dollars and yet still reside in the 10,000 square foot mansion they purchased in New Jersey with other people’s money. (The tacky property is currently for sale for $2.9 million.) Joe was sentenced to 41 months in prison and should begin his term sometime in the new year.
Despite failing to pay court ordered fees, taxes, and just about any other money they owe, Teresa was gifted with a brand new Lexus SUV upon returning home, because she “needs a car, end of story” according to her lawyer.

Her husband Joe gifted her with a black Lexus SUV, complete with a large red bow.
While it might seem like the Lexus LX 570, which features black tinted windows, is an extravagant gift, her attorney tells PEOPLE there’s nothing more to it than the Real Housewives of New Jersey star needing a set of wheels now that she’s back home.
“She needs a car. End of story – just like anyone else who needs a car,” attorney James J. Leonard, Jr. tells PEOPLE.
The base price for this car is around $90k but it has tinted windows so the full price is estimated at around six figures. These people have no shame at all.
People Magazine has run a ton of stories and exclusive photos of Teresa’s reunion with her family. They also have details of her Christmas Eve celebration with her family and the Gorgas, which was filmed for Bravo, and her Christmas Eve makeover. Plus, Teresa lost weight in prison teaching fitness classes and plans to get a spray tan at home to celebrate her release! Neither Teresa, her oldest daughter Gia, nor Melissa or Joe Gorga has posted any photos on their social media of Teresa. That’s probably because People Magazine and the various outlets are paying a hefty fee for the photos of the family. They’ve got to pay for that new Lexus somehow.
