    Oscar!!! (And I don’t mean Leo’s quest.)

  2. JFresh says:

Omg the commentary on the Mariah Carey photos is brilliant, true lol material

    • Wentworth Miller says:

I read the comments like “wtf!”, there’s actually a real person writing this story. And the comment about the knife killed me, because, I thought that the knife was upside down, also. Is that a new site? I like their attitude. Whats the big deal with the awards, anyway? Sam Jax basically said that they’re selection process isn’t based on talent n that it’s all bs, anyway. I like Leo. Not in that picture up top⬆⬆, but overall, yeah. I also like his movies. Even Gatsby and it was pretty bad. I’m close in age to the girls he dates, but I’m not a model so it wouldn’t work between us 😉😉

“Decorating cookies because the help never showed up because they don’t have chains for their tires.” Ha!!

Well, the kitchen help may have never made it to Mimi’s Christmas show/home (three trees in one house?), but her graphic artist help was definitely there. The photos, especially the one in the hot tub are so photoshopped.

    • Wentworth Miller says:

Yep. Gonna see it as soon as I can get it

  3. doofus says:

so glad they caught that “affluenza” d-bag and I hope the judge gives him the 10 years in prison he was threatened with if he violated probation.

that whole case pissed me off so much…”this kid doesn’t understand the consequences of doing bad because his parents have never punished him for anything, so let’s CONTINUE TO NOT PUNISH HIM, poor kid”. WTF?!

    • Wentworth Miller says:

Nancy Grace tore into him on twitter.

    • boredblond says:

They’ll argue that interrupting their Puerto Vallarta vacation was punishment enough..the original judge should’ve been removed from the bench

      • claire says:

There’s a whole faction of people who believe the judge did give him the harshest sentence. Something about how he would have served in juvie, been out in 3 and had his records classified. Instead, the judge gave him something the guy was never likely to succeed at: harsh 10 years probation with any messup resulting in hardcore prison time. I guess some people believe the judge was savvy and chose the latter knowing the kid would be more liable to get prison that way. I don’t know if I believe it. It’s a theory a lot of people like though.

      • Cran says:

I think they both should be jailed for hiding in a stop on The Love Boat. His disguise was perfect. I would never have recognized him.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Claire, on CNN they are saying that since his probation was through the juvenile system, that he won’t face “10 years hard time”. He’ll just get sent to a juvenile detention center for about a year until he turns 18 and then it will all be over and will not follow him to his adult record.

    • funcakes says:

He was living alone. What trouble could a teenager get into?
The parents have long records which have been documented in the media. This was a disaster in waiting

    • KB says:

CNN.com is saying they can only give him 120 days or something because he violated a juvenile court order. Once it’s transferred to adult court he’d have to violate probation again before he’d face any real time.

Anyone know why he wasn’t tried as an adult?

      • MoochieMom says:

The original ruling was in juvenile court and that is his sentence. Now, if his probation is transferred to adult jurisdiction then he falls under new rules but his original sentence stands and he cannot be tried again. It is his probation and the adult probation rules that would follow. Kid isn’t going to big boy jail unless he violated big boy probation. Mommy on the other hand is done for.

The things I would BEG Oscar Isaac to do to me……

  5. antipodean says:

Does anyone else have trouble clicking out of Lainey’s site lately. I enjoy her commentaries on all things gossip, but once I am on her site, I can’t get out, it never used to happen.
Also, really Mimi, what a sparkley world you live in when your pictures purport to show you have a waist! Step away from the photoshop, you are fooling no-one, and are starting to look like a middle-aged parody of yourself. You have a glorious voice, can’t that be enough? Your children deserve a mother who has a few shreds of dignity left, IMHO.

  6. QQ says:

soooooo…did ya’ll hear about Mark Salling?!??! Crazy and Disgusting

  7. Frosty says:

I’ll have an Oscar Isaac, Pedra Pascal back, please.

  8. knower says:

Ugh Dicaprio – 43 trying so hard to still be 23.

  9. Tiffany says:

Leo is not trying to be anyone but him. These VS runways want to hook up with him, so be it. He is not clubbing them over the head to date.

Is he skivy, you betcha, but he owns it.

    • Nouveau says:

100% with you. Compare to Ben Affleck and whoever’s trying to hide it. I prefer Leo’s approach. Anyway, his private life is his private life and he’s never tried to use it to further his career so no one really cares.

And Oscar Isaac is an outstanding actor who did a great job beside Leo in Body of Lies. So talented and I’m glad he’s getting lots of recognition now.

      • knower says:

Sometimes I believe that theory that goes around – that he’s actually been in a longterm relationship with Lukas Haas and this whole blonde model parade/playboy image/supermodel-lover situation is something his PR team started around his Titanic days. It sounds odd but then you see Lukas on dates with leo & his gf where it’s just the 3 of them. It’s weird – and it happens with EVERY relationship he has. Also I’ll never shake the Blind Gossip blind, “sinking three careers’ – at the time I was like, there is NO WAY this is bradley cooper/dicaprio/lukas but then at the end of the Blind, the manly photo op thing…I thought, holy crap, that happened and it makes tons of sense. Every hetero woman wants leo to be into women…and they believe it. I want to believe it! But then I go, there’s a lot riding on all of us believing it…and even more for international audiences.

As for Bradley Cooper, I have zero doubt he is gay. Irina is a known beard. Why wouldn’t she be! She is so stunning, I mean…I’d be down to clown with her, sure. She is…simply exquisite looking.

    • Anne tommy says:

Second that Tiffany. They know what they are getting and are obviously ok with the deal.

      • Pondering thoughts says:

        @ Anne tommy

To be honest I would like to know the details of the deal. And is there a signed contract?
        *curiouskitten*

Though I do believe that some of then are still so young to believe in romantic phantasies à la “rich millionaire marries model beauty”. Bar seemed to have really hoped for a ring. So I suspect that “gullible” is a requirement, too.

      • Nouveau says:

I read somewhere that it’s probably mainly a NDA they sign at the start. I’ll bet Leo is totally paranoid about kiss and tell stories so he’ll get a friendly third person like his personal assistant to talk to the latest prospect and encourage them to sign it.

  10. Sam H x says:

The thing about Mark Salling from Glee popped up on my Facebook feed – my initial reaction was WTF. He is a horrid excuse of a human being.

Watched Ex Machina yesterday – a great movie! Oscar Isaac and Alicia Vikander were brilliant in it.

    • knower says:

Honestly I wish more movies were made like Ex-Machina! Actual quality, it’s a rare thing these days at the box office.

      • Jayna says:

And the ex-Machina director, it was his directorial debut and he wrote it.

The Gift that came out this year is an excellent psychological thriller. It was written by Joel Edgerton, the actor, and it was his directorial debut aslo, and he acted in it as the creepy oddball. Jason Bateman was absolutely superb in this movie. And I love Rebecca Hall as an actress.

His script and directing was so tight and almost flawless in that he didn’t try to throw in extraneous stuff that didn’t come off authentic. It got 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, and the audience score was 77 percent. It’s a movie that has twists and turns and really fleshes out the three main characters, which is unusual these days, no one-note main characters, and makes you discuss the ending and the characters and reflect back on things said. It’s on DVD now. I couldn’t believe they only made this movie for five million dollars. but it made like 60 million at the box office.

      • Pondering thoughts says:

        @ jayna

I can’t believe it either that it cost just like 5 mio. The promotion can be expensive, too, I have heard sums from 1-10 mio dollars.
Anyway my guess is that the actors in Ex Machina weren’t that expensive. They are all good actors but not yet A-A-list. They don’t command 20mio a movie. And I think that it is that what makes some movies so expensive: the actor’s fees.

      • Jayna says:

@PonderingThoughts, I was talking about The Gift in that paragraph and about the five million being its budget just in case you thought I was talking about Ex Machina. I couldn’t tell from your response whether you knew that or not.

Ex Machina cost $15 million to make.

      • Pondering thoughts says:

        @ Jayna

I guess I got something wrong so I apologize 🙂

My point is that those astronomical sums which are paid to some A-listers do drive up the costs for the movies. To name a few: Damon, Dicaprio, Clooney, Hemsworth, S. Johansson.

And I still wonder if they really receive that salary only or if there are some additional royalties which aren’t disclosed. Dicaprio has gotten percentages of box office earnings, that is known. But the others?

      • SusanneToo says:

@jayna. I loved The Gift and everyone in it. I also loved The Gift that came out around 2000 by Sam Raimi. Same title but much different movie, also great.
