The last time I paid attention to Katy Perry’s love life, she was still doing the endless on-and-off thing with John Mayer. Like, John and Katy were just seen together before New Year’s, and they were apparently pretty loved-up. I’ve come to the conclusion that John and Katy must do the friends-with-benefits thing and they barely even pretend to be interested in a real relationship with each other. Like, the sex is good and they don’t want to talk to each other. My theory about John and Katy might go a long way towards explaining what went down at the Golden Globes after-parties. Apparently, Katy was getting handsy/flirty with Orlando Bloom. Ol’ Orly looks into it too. Poor Orly.

This is a total teenage dream! After sitting through the 2016 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 10, Katy Perry — who presented the award for Best Original Song — and Orlando Bloom loosened up at Harvey Weinstein’s afterparty and were superflirty. Perry, 31, and Bloom, 38, were snapped chatting up a storm at the Fiji Water–sponsored bash held at the Beverly Hilton, where the Globes was also held. Observers inside the bash tell Us Weekly that the two were “extremely flirty and whispering to each other” as they stood in Weinstein’s section.

Indeed, the insiders tell Us that the body language and chemistry was palpable. “He would lean in to whisper into her ear and touch the small of her back as they chatted,” the observer tells Us, adding that the handsome actor took the songstress’ phone at one point. Perry, after all, looked irresistible on Sunday night in a formfitting rose-pink satin column gown by Prada.

“Katy was showing Orlando her phone,” the observer says. “They were both smiling and laughing and then he took her phone and started typing on it.”

Thirty minutes into the bash, Perry and her entourage decided to bounce for another star-studded afterparty. “Katy and her handlers all walked out first, and Orlando followed,” the insiders tell Us. Their exit turned into a reunion with Andy Samberg, Jonah Hill, Carrie Brownstein, Gaby Hoffmann, Jay Duplass and others all seated at one table.

“Katy stopped to say hi to Jonah, Gaby and Carrie,” the observer says, “and Orlando joined her by her side. At one point, while she was chatting with everyone, she put her arm around Orlando and adoringly put her hand on the back of his head. They left together shortly after.”

Just from this Us Weekly story, it sounds like Katy was flirting with Orlando a little bit and then he just started following her around like a puppy. When she tried to leave without him, he tried to follow her out. When she stopped to talk to other people, he followed her to the group and tried to get her attention. Play it cool, Desperado! I actually like the idea of Orlando and Katy together – there’s something cheesy about both of them, so they fit together in some weird way. That being said… um, she could do better. Not that she HAS done better – her romantic past is littered with douchebags – but she COULD do better.
