Here are some photos from last night’s UNICEF Ball in LA. David Beckham was being honored with the Humanitarian Leadership Award for his years of work with UNICEF. The event was pretty well-attended, as you can see, and the event was sponsored by Louis Vuitton and as such, most of the women wore LV. Like Nicole Kidman up there. Kidman used to be such a major style star, but over the past five years or so, her style has been all over the place. I’m not really a fan of this shiny blue dress with the plunging V-neck. It could have been sexy on another woman, maybe… but on Nicole, it looks awful. Her hair looks stiff and terrible, her face is immobile, and so the dress reads as “1980s game show hostess.” Like, Vanna White would wear this.
Here’s David Beckham, the man of the night, looking lovely.
Miranda Kerr in Louis Vuitton. Out of all the LV looks last night, this was actually one of my favorites. I know she just wanted to show off her legs, but this was just one of the best looks.
Selena Gomez’s Louis Vuitton was my other favorite LV look. It’s not that I absolutely love this dress, I just think the laser-cut leather looks surprisingly cool. Selena surprisingly pulls this off really well.
Jennifer Connolly in Louis Vuitton. Right up there with Kidman’s LV for the worst of the night. I don’t get how this is a style?
It wouldn’t be a red carpet if Mariah Carey wasn’t falling out of a dress. This is Louis Vuitton as well – it’s okay. Meh. She looks like she’s lost some weight. Being in love with a billionaire will do that.
Angie Harmon in Naeem Khan. A pretty typical ball gown, but Angie wears it well. It reads as classic and a little boring. If I’m nitpicking, I would say that she should have done her hair differently. Something less poofy.
Michelle Rodriguez in a simple red gown… she looks nice. Also not groundbreaking, but a decent look.

Michelle Rodriguez, and Angie Harmon look amazing. Go away Selena Gomez with the laser cut dress. Mariah looks okay..she needs volume in that limp hair though. Connelly is swimming in her dress, but I kinda like it too.

The cut is doing nothing for Nicole’s chest, but I love the color. A more flattering top half and the dress would be very pretty.
To me, Selena is the real winner here.

her chest area looks very pasty and shiny, as others have said. and looking at a 1997 pic of her in a chartreuse galliano at oscars that someone else mentioned… the bust area is much much larger.
Looks like Nicole now has a plastic chest, to match her plastic face.
I think as you get older the skin on your chest area thins out. So, if you are very thin, then your chest area may look bony.
I was going to say the same thing. Especially because her boobs were so massive in Paddington they actually distracted me, because we all knew Nic aint no double D. She annoys me the most out of all the plasttic surgery addicts….mainly I guess because she presents as being above all that. And she used to be beautiful, it’s a waste.

Hate everything else, especially Miranda Kerr’s puffball dress with the pointless sheer bit. Selena Gomez looks uncomfortable and that dress looks too heavy.
I couldn’t help but notice that under the bodice of Miranda Kerr’s dress it looks like someone has left a label of some sort on, like the price label you get on things. It is driving me nutty just looking at it. Do I need my eyes tested? I would have thought that, at one of these “high fashion” dos, this would be a glaring rookie mistake.

Michelle seriously needs to up her style game with some accessories, or at least do something…anything, with her hair or makeup. She always shows up like this..looking like she just dgaf. Clearly, playing dress up is not her thing.

There are some people who are attractive but not sexy. I would add Nicole Kidman to that list. She should never wear plunging necklines. She’d be better off simply showing her long legs. I felt the same way about Lupita Nyongo’s plunging 2014 Oscar dress. Both women are slim and have other assets they can show off, but their chest area is not one of them.
Selena Gomez for the win here. She looks great. I also like Angie Harmon’s look. I hate what Kidman is wearing, as well as Rodriguez; they are just too low cut. That seems to be a thing now. I hope that trend dies off soon. The rest are meh at best.
Agree. Love Selena and Angie looks fabulous. Everyone else… yikes. I have a relative who wears LV head to toe and I always hate it. I swear it’s about the “look at the brand” and they don’t care who it looks. And she is very slim and toned, can carry anything but somehow looks horrid in LV. Occasionally I like the shoes, and I do own bags and like them, but I would never buy any of their clothes. they seriously need to either give it up or get someone who can design.
Agree on all counts. If I were younger, I’d love to have Selena’s dress, plus a shorter version in another vibrant color.

None of these looks are very good. Nicole’s dress doesn’t fit well and that huge expanse of chest doesn’t do anything for her. Fitted better, slightly shorter sleeves and a reworked neckline, and it could be a pretty, although shiny, dress. And while we know she’s been messing with her face for many years now, what’s going on with her hair? The color is so washed out and meh when it used to be fabulous.
Nicole’s leg looks strange, it is like it is her only leg. If this photo was photoshopped I would blame that but is just the angle I guess.
Selena’s dress is the best even if I feel it is not completely her.

I love nicole’s dress, but the necklace is absolutely dull next to it and should have been a color. Rodriquez looks like she is in her nightgown and woke up 20 min ago and rolled in the door. I wish someone would have worn nicole’s dress to the golden globes. It’s really really beautiful.
Nicole needs to ditch that blonde. Even strawberry -blonde would make her look so much fresher. She looks pale and washed out.

Why tragic? Because she is over 30? Michelle Rodriguez has the same neckline, but she gets a pass? Nicole has always had alabaster skin, maybe people are so used to seeing spray tans that they think her skin looks weird.
Why nobody talked about the very weird fact that she didn’t attend Keith’s father funeral? that was so weird, your husband’s father funeral is an event you HAVE to attend, specially when he always supported you in every event, superfluous or not.

Totally, totally agree! Her hair almost looks like spun cotton candy-super fine and wispy. I would associate her hair with an eighty year old woman, not someone her age.

I love her and her husband…but NO to the dress and NO NO NO to the hairstyle. She looks like she’s all boney and her cleavage is OFF…That is not a flattering (FLAT tearing) look for her at all.

I agree, everyone but Angie looks awful. Jennifer Connolly looks like the Eyebrow Monster.
Her lips are back thin. Her face is thin like when younger, not big apple filler cheeks. Her eyebrows are down, not botoxed frozen up.
I think she would probably look nice if it weren’t for that awful hair. It ages her because it’s not flattering.

In my opinion, you have EITHER a plunging neckline or a high slit. It’s too much if you have both. I do like dress’ vivid color on Nicole. She looks wonderful in the rich jewel tones. David Beckham looks yummy as usual :).
