One of the best parts about being a kid is that the whole world revolves around you. Especially on your birthday – there could be clowns, pinatas, too much cake and chicken nuggets, candy corn and whatever else your little heart desires. But if you’re Suri Cruise, everyday is your birthday, and your actual birthday is nothing special.
So Tom and Katie decided to celebrate Suri’s third with a quiet, low-key celebration. A small group of friends and family, with a special Beauty and the Beast birthday cake. Sounds… average. But Suri isn’t average, Xenu!
Suri Cruise celebrated her third birthday with a small gathering of friends and family at home in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon, PEOPLE has learned.
Parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes planned a princess-themed party for their daughter, which included a cake featuring Belle from Beauty and the Beast and a treasure hunt.
“They just wanted to keep it small and make it fun for Suri and her friends,” says a source.

Of course, it’s perfectly possible that Tom and Katie had a bigger bash planned, but canceled it at the last minute because of a death in the family. Joseph Fretti, Katie’s brother-in-law (the man married to her sister Tamera) was found dead by a family friend on Sunday. The cause of death for the 48-year-old husband and father was determined to be heart failure. I’m sure Katie’s family was devastated, and most likely decided to tone down Suri’s birthday celebrations. I’m sure Tom and Katie will make it up to her though!

Suri has friends? Who knew.
So she had a princess birthday party with some family and friends. Sounds like a normal birthday for a three year old. It’s not like she got the shaft.
I’m with HEB. They probably canceled it. Nice of tom to actually do something nice for his wife who is probably grieving for her brother-in-law and her sister’s loss.
Perhpas that is the reason Katie looks like that.
A death in the family is a tough time.
Why should they have to make it up to her? That is a perfectly accepable birthday for a 3 year old.

Kate has been looking very tired and depressed lately. She doesn’t even bother to wear makeup anymore, it’s like she has given up.
I share the same birthday with Suri. Give me five Suri. She is a doll.
Does she have any play clothes? She is a cutie but she is always dressed so much like a delicate princess. She always looks so lonely. She’ll probably be a handful when she gets to be a teenager.
Sure, it’s a low-key party…because Suri’s real birthday was in January. That’s why there were pics of Katebot shopping for toys at FAO Schwarz that month.
Katie was already pregnant when she contracted to be Tom’s beard. They are passing off someone else’s kid as Cruise’s so he can appear to be heterosexual.
Either that, or the Cruise’s just don’t have any more friends!
