I have long said that 99% of the American Idol contestants are batsh*t crazy. And at least a couple have proven me right by going crazy, like that woman who committed suicide outside Paula Abdul’s house. Last night, a former season five contestant somehow bypassed security and illegally trespassed onto Britney Spears’ property – and then started looking into the windows. God only knows what she was planning on doing if she saw Britney.

A woman was arrested Thursday morning for sneaking into Britney Spears’ private property in Calabasas and peeping inside the windows of her home, Usmagazine.com confirms.

The woman, identified as 26-year-old Miranda Tozier-Robbins (a fifth-season American Idol contestant), was wearing camouflage fatigues and carrying a backpack and video camera when private security noticed her trespassing into the community, which Spears moved into in January.

Tozier-Robbins is likely a fan of Spears, as a woman by the same name has left comments on Britney Spears’ official site as recently as April 11.

Security personnel asked her to leave, but the woman “balked at their requests” and had to be physically escorted off the property, according to the police report.

Sheriffs arrived shortly after and physically escorted her off the property. They then took her to a local station where she was booked on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $5,000, but she was released on a citation.

Tozier-Robbins — who resides in the Inglewood, Calif., neighborhood — will appear in court on June 16.

Britney wasn’t home at the time. While she is currently on her concert tour, she was in town on Thursday. E! notes that Brit’s guards actually gave Tozier-Robbins the option of leaving, but she refused. So she had the chance to get out of there without being arrested, but is so mentally deranged she thought it better to hang out with the guards and wait for police.

E! News has exclusively learned that Tozier-Robbins auditioned for American Idol in Boston in October 2005 with the Spears tune “Everytime”—and made it to the second round.

Obviously, she didn’t make it into the spotlight, but it was an improvement for her after being denied a golden ticket the previous year in Orlando. She subsequently blogged all about her experience.

In addition to listing Spears as her favorite artist, Tozier-Robbins wrote in her “about me” section: “I have issues but I’m working on them.”

Um, clearly. That’s quite the understatement. I really don’t understand what goes on in the head of stalkers. Why they think it’s okay to cross that boundary between spending too much time obsessing over their target on the internet and actually showing up at their house and/or trying to hurt them. It’s a good thing Britney wasn’t home at the time – hopefully her security won’t be so lenient in the future.
