Gwen Stefani visits Oklahoma with Blake, shops at Dollar General

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani as a couple are giving me some major Green Acres vibes, so I’m not overly surprised that the couple has been spending quite a bit of time in Blake’s hometown, near Tishomingo, Oklahoma. The small town with a population of a little bit over 3,000 people gives the singers the chance to take in life (and each other) at a slower pace. “Gwenton” (does that work?) have been patronizing the town’s local businesses, such as the Dairy Queen, Dollar General and the town’s Mexican restaurant. It seems this budding romance is going swimmingly, with a source telling E! News, “It’s all systems go. They are very happy together. Their relationship is solid.” It be will have to be, as Gwen and Blake will be working and playing together, with Gwen taking on mentor duties for Team Blake on the next season of The Voice. Blake’s delighted, telling People, “We know we collaborate well together as coaches, so of course I would have her as my mentor, and she’s so smart and talented!”

Gwen’s sure to be back to the hustle and bustle of Hollywood soon with her Voice duties and a new album to release. The singer has been working hard on her third solo album, “This is What the Truth Feels Like,” which is scheduled to be released on March 18. The first single off of the album, “Used to Love You”, came out back in October and her second single, “Make Me Like You,” drops on Monday after its live debut on the Grammys Monday night. Gwen recently revealed the complete track list of the album on her Instagram page. Gwen is known for writing very personal songs, so it’s pretty easy to see what was on her mind when she was writing these.

As much as I love Gwen, I like her work with No Doubt better than her solo stuff. At least the boys in the band, guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal, and drummer Adrian Young, have a new album of their own in the works, with AFI’s Davey Havok taking on lead vocals. What’s to become of a Gwen-less No Doubt? In a recent interview, Adrian told Billboard, “We’re in a little bit of limbo right now, so we’ll see where that takes us.” Doesn’t sound too promising, does it? As long as Gwen doesn’t stray too far from her rock/ska roots, there still may be a glimmer of hope.

Noooooo is she messing with her face?
I really like her and hope she is happy!

In the awful dress picture she looks like Megan Fox.
One of my fiends wears lipstick always and her lip colour bleached (?) out. She swears she has to wear lipstick now or her lips are flesh toned. I didn’t really believe her but now I wonder if this has happened to Gwens entire face.
She’s Christina aguilera level makeup at all times and I don’t understand that makeup dedication otherwise.

    • monica m says:

      nah, she’s all natural. 😉

  3. OhDear says:

This is clearly not to promote her new album.
    No.
    Not at all.

I get that no one usually says this about men, but how do you have 3 kids and have time to hang out w/your boyfriend in another state?

I know they have nannies and private jets yada yada……..

Is it just me, or does that jumpsuit bulge in the most unflattering way for a female? From the waist below, she looks like Idris “Is that a mic wire in your pants or are you just happy to see me” Elba.

  6. Neelyo says:

That AMA outfit is hideously bad but luckily she jacked up her face so much that no one will notice what she’s wearing.

At what point do we stop referring to people as “talented” and use words like accomplished, great artist, successful businesswoman etc? Because this is a woman in her … 40s? Has been super successful in the business for 20 years and her clothing line hasn’t done so bad either. “Talented” feels so condescending for someone like her somehow. Yes, of course she’s talented. But more than that, she’s GOOD at what she’s been doing for two decades. That takes so much more than talent.

Sorry, don’t know why that riled me up so much.

That black dress is an eyesore. I usually love her style but god no.

  8. CityGirl says:

Gaahhhhh That black dress again o_0

    • zinjojo says:

I don’t think that can even be called a dress, it’s more like a leotard with a train. And whatever it is, it’s all kinds of fug!

It’s funny how what seem like two opposites work, and the ones on paper that should work don’t. Obviously, they may not work out long-term, but I feel that Blake is head over heels for Gwen, which surprises me. He’s a flannel country music guy, and she’s — well, she’s Gwen. LOL And she has three little kids, while he’s never even had one. Seeing the photo where he dropped her and the kids off to a park shows he is in her life completely, kids and all.

I kind of am impressed by Blake. I expected to see him off with a 20-something aspiring country music singer, not a born-and-raised -in-California girl in another kind of music and successful businesswoman with a full plate and three children. I think both of them were reeling from their marriages failing and had an emptiness in them from that, and they have a real connection, not fake. Good for them. Sometimes opposites attract and work.

  10. Luxe says:

She’s so irritating now. She was so badass in the nineties. 🙁

If they’re really in love, then good for them and screw what anyone else thinks. But if it’s a publicity thing, it’s not a good one. They are a completely unappealing as a couple.

  11. Betti says:

Someone needs to stage a cosmetic surgery intervention with her and Lady Gaga – they both seem to be using the same surgeon as they LOOK the same (well almost).

  12. Tessa says:

Gavin must have dressed her ala Kanye, cod her styles gone all over the place

    • emma says:

she’s just trying to do the country thing while and not trying to put the OKies off with her Cali style. She definitely did the fashion thing on her own.

  13. themummy says:

    Whoa…her lips!! Her face….

    That’s all I have .

  14. Megan says:

Beyond the plastic surgery excess, those brows are awful on her. While I know thick and heavy brows are trendy, some people need to realize they can’t pull them off. The brows are attractive by themselves for being so heavy handed, but they would look better on someone else. Maybe I’m weird, but I feel brows should be shaped to suit someone’s facial structure and not what’s in trend.

Her’s is too dainty for those style brows. It makes her face look off even more so.

    • emma says:

I think they work more than her old pencil thin brows. maybe something in the middle. she looks more glamorous with dark thicker brows.

      • Megan says:

Google Gwen circa 2008/10, they were medium sized, shapely, yet they fit her face. At least in my opinion. They looked way more glam and suited her features.
Prior to that time, like early 2000, they were absolutely too thin.

  15. Abbess Tansy says:

I still have a soft spot for Gwen because of my favorite decade of music, the 90s music and No Doubt was one of *the bands* for me. Brings back fond memories of my second coming of age.

  16. emma says:

whhhaaaa No Doubt and Davy Havok! That’s so awesome. Although I don’t feel like their vibes mesh well. I hope they go more old ND style than old AFI style.
I loved Gwen with ND but lately, meh. And her lyrics are so juvenile.

  17. Dancinnancy says:

Are we sure it is her? Is Gwen without red lips really Gwen? (I have my denial glasses on).

  18. Starkiller (formerly Holmes) says:

Perhaps these were the “idiots in Oklahoma” that Kris Jenner was referring to the other day?

Also, I’m not trying to comment under multiple names, but it appears from residing the comments on yesterday’s posts that someone has usurped my name.

  19. Kate says:

She’s looking a bit Brandi Glanville

  20. flutterby says:

    Blake Shelton… County music?
Pffft! No! he’s just a joke
George Strait is more country music

  21. Julia Goolia says:

I can’t help but think that if she really was happy she wouldn’t look like she was trying this hard. I love Gwen, I do, but all this smacks of someone who has had the bottom torn out of their world and is desperately trying to look like they are having a good time for everyone else’s benefit.

  22. Tredd says:

I will NEVER get used to this freak pairing. Blech.
