cmoody: I had a friend, very good looking, who once said the like about female vs male friendships. She had a circle of male friends, who were rightly in awe of her. She was a pretty nice person, lots of brains too, and I have never felt any jealousy coming from her – and I’m not the jealous type either.

My best guess is that she better liked being the queen bee among her male friends, rather than just being another girl, an equal, among female friends, susceptible to hear criticism as well as praise.

SamHill: please note that the above is a mere example of someone I know, it’s not about you whom I don’t know. Still my female friends are not catty nor bitchy, and I owe them to post here that you’re promoting a sexist stereotype against females.

The most remarkable thing about these two rumors swirling around (is Britney doing her ex or is she doing Chase) is that there aren’t any videos of photogs swarming her. It seems that she really is learning to get herself above the fray. I congratulate her whole heartedly for that!

I have found that 99 percent of the time when a woman says something like this:

“A lot of girls (like me) find that relationships with guys are more stable than those with girls, who can be catty.”

Its because the person saying it has jealousy issues when it comes to other women. They personally feel like they are in a competition with other women and therefore label other women as catty or bitchy.
Because its easier than saying they prefer being friends with guys because there is no competition there.

And its just so easy to label women as catty without any real proof because so many people (men and women) are so much more likely to believe it without proof. When in actual fact Men tend to be much more catty, judgmental, and gossipy than women (at least from my personal experience).

I don’t know how old you are Sam, but I truly hope you do grow out of this mindset or at the very least stop perpetuating it on a public writing space.

Tabloids make up stuff all the time. I don’t believe this. One thing comes to mind that girl with Kevin has to be the dumbest women I have seen in a long time. Something has to be wrong with her. Britney would be crazy for sure if she got back with that loser. Kevin is looking for any women to take care of him since he will not work. Fat guy living off child support.
