Pamela Anderson launches new makeup line: bomb or bombshell?

In “things that might have been useful in the 90s” news, former Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson is launching a new makeup line. The line is the result of a collaboration between Pamela and her long-time makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, who created her sexy looks for her Playboy shoots. The collection comes in two palettes, Pamela Pink and Pamela Nude. The palettes contain everything you need to achieve a bombshell look like Pamela’s – from glossy lips to smokey eyes. Why makeup and why now, you may ask? Pamela told People magazine, “When you put makeup on, you want to look sexy and have fun and [Alexis and I] had this kind of specific look that we used to do and so she convinced me to do this little kit with her.”

The makeup is 100% vegan and cruelty-free and 10% of the proceeds from the line go to the Pamela Anderson Foundation, which “supports organizations and individuals that stand on the front lines in the protection of human, animal, and environmental rights.” That covers a lot of bases, doesn’t it? Pamela said that the kits are ideal for makeup novices, stating, “[Vogel] is really clear on these little cards on how to do the cat eye, your lips, and I think that’s another big thing when it comes to that look is really the pouty lips — the stain, the lip liner, and then the lipstick, and then the lip gloss.”

If you’re curious to see what the 48-year-old actress looks like au naturel, you can check her starring in a short film, Connected, that made its online debut last week. In the 10 minute film, Pamela plays a fitness instructor facing a midlife crisis. I never thought of Pam as much of an actress but she’s not bad in this – and it’s nice to see her face out from under all of the makeup and weaves. And, if you check out Pamela’s Instagram, it looks like she’s working on another project from Connected director Luke Gilford where she’s giving off some film noir leading lady realness.

So, here’s the question, does anyone still want to look like Playboy-era Pam? We’ve pointed out in the past that Pam actually looks better without so much makeup. And in Connected she actually looks pretty good without all of the makeup. It is too bad she got into all of the botox and fillers, because she really didn’t need them. That being said, I think the Pamela Nude palette will be in my makeup collection real soon, because I am a sucker for a smokey eye. And side note, Pam definitely has some good genes, check out her sons Brandon Lee and Dylan Lee from last week’s Saint Laurent fashion show in Hollywood below.

I appreciate that it’s vegan and cruelty free, but does anyone want to do their makeup like Pamela? She seems to be a nice person, though.

Her kids look really angry in that picture.

  2. stella alpina says:

She does layer it thick when it comes to cosmetics. Plus, her makeup style is nothing new: she’s been doing her version of a Brigitte Bardot imitation for many years. That being said, good for her for launching a cruelty-free makeup line. I hope it does well. She may not be to everyone’s taste, but Pam’s love for animals/support for animal rights has always been her saving grace.

  3. cleveland girl says:

I don’t want to apply makeup to look like her but I sure would love my body to like hers. Lol.

    • ISO says:

She looks amazing with the thick betty paige bangs. I think 50’s pin up girl style would really suit her.

  4. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I have a soft spot for Pamela and admire her work with animals, but her look is not chic, modern or especially unique. I don’t think this was a great idea except for the cruelty-free aspect.

  5. suze says:

She has always looked much better without makeup, but she is wedded to her Bardot look. Slamming bod, still, and really a very pretty, soft face when she is wearing less of her paint.

Maybe this would have flown twenty years ago. The world has moved on, and so should she.

    • Nic919 says:

She needs a new makeup look. The thin brows and heavy eye make up age her so much. She looks rough and while some of it has to do with her drug use, if she had a makeover then this new makeup line would sell. Cruelty free is a great idea but if you sponsor a makeup line then people want to see you look good.

  6. Insomniac says:

Yeah, I don’t know. I really like Pam and admire her devotion to animal rights, but I’m not sure about yet another celebrity makeup line. I already have way too much of the stuff as it is!

  7. Isa says:

Meh, I don’t want to look like Kat Von D but I do want to buy her make up. I’ll probably check this out.

  8. jenn12 says:

I will always appreciate her devotion to animal rights. But I feel SO old right now.

  9. LAK says:

The taller boy looks like Charlie Sheen circa the 80s whilst the shorter one looks like Steven Bauer (Melanie Griffith’s ex husband) also circa 80s. The shorter one is going to be very handsome in a couple of years. Movie star handsome. You can see it in the bone structure.

  10. Luciana says:

Some of the boys’ good genes definitely come from Tommy Lee!

    • LeAnn Stinks says:

Tommy was beautiful when he married to Heather Locklear and had less tattoo’s. That being said, he still has sex appeal.

The younger son, Dylan, is a model, and is way better looking than the Beckham son, who is also a model.

  11. lisa says:

always happy for people to have access to 1 more cruelty free line since most of the most popular brands are not cruelty free

  12. moo moo says:

she sunbathes, and it helps age her.

  13. Miran says:

What i wouldnt give to go to town on her face with my erbium laser and get rid of that leathery skin.

The one son looks a lot like tommy, who, for a douchebag, isnt bad looking in the face.

  14. JH says:

Her body is AMAZING in that Instagram pic. I love the styling, too. Perf.

  15. platypus says:

If her makeup is good quality, wearable and priced right, I think it will sell. There’s more awareness now, and definitely room in the market for cheap animal-friendly makeup. Most of the good stuff is pretty darn expensive.

  16. pinetree13 says:

She’s beautiful and I’ve always had a soft spot for her.

And call me a 90’s chick but I’d like her make up for a night out (I just wouldn’t overline the lips quite as much nor pluck my eyebrows that thin…but the rest of her make up I like.)

BUT does no one remember Alexis Vogel’s previous make up line? THat informercial? I bought it and the make up quality was pretty crap but the instructional DVD was pretty cool since this pre-dated all the youtube tutorials you can now watch online.

I just dated myself by mentioning Alexis’ informercial I’m sure. COME ON, DID NONE OF YOU SEE IT!?!? Where they made over regular people Pam style????

    • Jag says:

Yes! I did see it and it was Vogel and Pamela and how to do her signature look. I actually bought that one and liked some of it. The foundation didn’t stay on my face very well though.

I was having a flashback because this seems like a reboot of sorts, but now vegan and cruelty-free, and with more colors.

  17. marymoon says:

Oh, uh … that top pic looks like someone used that swirling photoshop thing that pedophiles in Thailand think hides their faces.
I am never going in the sun without a hat again.
