South Park‘s recent “Fishsticks” episode caused Kanye’s ego to deflate, and has now apparently ruffled Eva Longoria’s feathers. In the episode, which is about a joke involving fishsticks, Carlos Mencia goes on Conan O’Brien and claims credit for the joke. After the episode aired, Mencia twittered that he thought it was “hysterical”: “They just made fun of me on South Park. I thought it was hysterical. Catch the rerun.” After seeing the episode, Eva Longoria is reportedly livid over the impersonation of Mencia, calling it racist.
Eva Longoria is furious with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Apparently, she is a big fan of comedian Carlos Mencia and thinks that the portrayal of him, seen recently on the Fishticks episode, borders on racism. Eva believes that Carlos Mencia is one of the most talented comedians ever. She is rumored to be telling people that portraying Carlos Mencia as one of the characters on Carlito’s Way is not only stupid; it’s also racist.
“Racist” is a strong word, and should not be used lightly. While I see where Eva is coming from, it sounds like she hasn’t seen that many episodes of South Park and probably doesn’t “get it.” The show has make fun of everyone, and I mean everyone. Tom Cruise, P.Diddy, Al Gore, Michael Jackson, even the Pope. Their humor spans across racial, religious, gender, and sexual preference profiles. In short, they’re fair with their scathing commentary.
Eva Longoria has always been proud and vocal about her Mexican ancestry, and racial issues are certainly an important and relevant part of modern society. But where was Eva, a Catholic, when an episode made fun of the Pope?
And not only that, but Mencia liked the episode. His whole schtick is making fun of people of all ethnicities – why isn’t it okay for South Park creators to do the same?

I’m going to have to assume that she doesn’t realize that Carlos Mencia (Real Name: Ned Holness) isn’t actually Mexican. He just plays one on TV. So, shouldn’t she be up-set with him for his portrayal of Mexicans?
And, no, he’s not funny. He claims to do offensive, racial, humor; But, it’s not humor unless you include an actual joke. “All Mexicans steal” is not – In it-self – a joke. And, the few amusing things that he does say are jokes that he stole from other comedians.

South Park mocks everything and everyone…and that episode was actually kind of tame in comparison.
If Mencia doesn’t mind (and I’ve seen his show on comedy central reruns before-he’s way worse) then what’s the deal here? If I were Longoria I’d be very afraid. Matt and Trey are already working something up for her, I’m sure.
Side note: Best comic? Surely that was a jest! Mencia is a shock comic at best.

The problem with attacking South Park for being racist/hateful is they go after EVERYONE. Christians, Muslims (when the network doesn’t wimp out), Comedy Central (see Muslims), Jews, Scientologists, fat people, skinny people, people with disabilites AND themselves.
I agree with the attractiveness confusion. Yea shes cute, but she is crazy. Some of her quotes for the movie where she as a ghost was stalking her husband were just plain crazy. She cant act, its why shes been stuck playing the same basic character over and over again. As soon as Desperate Housewives is off the air she will disappear.

For someone, who colored her own skin with “whiteface” during her high school years, google her cheerleading high school pictures for reference – Eva shouldn’t use the word “racist” or even speak of racism.
She wore very white foundation, leaving a dark trunk of neck gleaming in her photos as a teenager, and that reflects her discomfort regarding her own dark skin color.
Longoria…said: “I was the darkest one of my family. I was the only one with black hair and the only one with dark skin. All my sisters were light blondes with hazel eyes. They used to call me ugly duckling…I grew up without being beautiful so I kind of relied on my personality and my character.”
Because, evidently according to her, dark skinned Hispanic people are “not beautiful”
Also – her comment on her “blonde hazel eyed” siblings, and her own low sense of self-worth regarding her darker more indigenous features – is an embarassment to the Mexican community.
She obviously doesn’t realize what South Park is all about.
Fishsticks is a hilarious episode, and parker & stone are known to be very edgy & very current with their “attacks” like the one regarding scientology that coincidentally coincided with Issac Hayes’ (a scientologist) departure from the show.
Eva is just trying to make herself relevant & needs to shut the hell up with the “racism” bit because a majority of people did not find anything wrong with that episode – even Mencia himself, who was secondary prime character in the episode.

Eva’s not alone. I too am a huge fan of Carlos Mencia. I also liked the South Park series… until now. Sure, their disclaimer states, “All celebrity voices are impersonated… poorly.” However, I never thought such impersonation of Mencia would be this bad. Eva’s in the complete right to be mad at Matt Stone and Trey Parker. As a matter of fact, I am very irate right now with South Park.
