The Kardashian-West clan is pretty liberal. For a while, Kim didn’t really discuss politics, but these days, she’s openly supporting Hillary Clinton. Kris Jenner is supporting Hillary too, and Kanye West has already donated money to Hillary’s campaign and performed at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser. While Pres. Obama once called Kanye a “jackass,” I think Kanye has always supported Obama politically too, including contributions to Obama’s campaigns. My point? While Kanye is a narcissist, a megalomaniac and a jackass (thanks Obama!), he’s also got pretty consistent (liberal/progressive) political views. Which is why this Page Six story was kind of odd:
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may have posed for a photo opp with Hillary Clinton, but it’s Donald Trump who’s got the ranting rapper’s support. Following a flight from Paris to Los Angeles on Wednesday, West, 38, was overheard sharing his political opinions with another passenger.
“He’s not going to vote for Trump but he supports him,” a spy told Page Six.
When asked by the passenger if he was backing Hillary, West made it clear he was all for Trump, but a source close to West says the Grammy Award winner supporting Trump is “totally untrue.”
According to the Federal Election Commission, West has already contributed to Clinton’s campaign. On July 28, 2015, West donated $2,700 to Hillary for America (his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, contributed the very same amount a few weeks later on Aug. 13). Prior to that, he donated $15,000 to the Democratic National Committee on Oct. 16, 2014 (days earlier, on Oct. 10, 2014, Kardashian also made the same donation to the DNC). West also performed at a Democratic fundraiser at The Warfield in San Francisco last October.
Basically, it sounds like Kanye was talking to a friend about how he supports Donald Trump’s right to burn the GOP to the ground, and someone mistook that for Kanye supporting Trump generally. Like, I’m as liberal as they come, and while Trump is a fascist bully who represents the worst of America (and he has a base of violently ignorant supporters), I also support his right to burn the GOP to the ground.
Also, Kanye has been tweeting all week, but after the influx of drama he brought last month, the tweets this week are kind of boring and just sort of funny. Like, I would honestly love many of Kanye’s tweets on a t-shirt. I absolutely want a “Just cause somebody is wearing combat boots doesn’t mean it’s all of a sudden youth” t-shirt. A sampling…

In my mind, Donald Drumpf and Kanye are very similar personality-wise. Maybe Kanye sees the ego and lunacy and puts it on a pedestal. Probably gives no thought to the political ramifications of Drumpf as President.

Its cool that he loves his wife so much and clearly thinks so highly of her. It would also be cool if he could stop trying to force everyone else to view her in the same light, like the time he went on some radio show and said everyone needs to accept that she is the most beautiful woman of all time and that she’s a modern day Marilyn Monroe.

Next time, Kanye, instead of giving your wife diamonds, leggings or flowers, gift her with a vocabulary at least she will know the meaning of some words she fills her mouth with.
Oh boy. So I guess no woman should ever wear suit jackets now. Warn all business women or lawyers, or any other woman who wears them simply because she likes them: Kanye says no more! Hollywood supports whoever they think they are supposed to support to look good. I would be willing to bet when they get in the voting booth they vote differently.

I support the GOP’s hypocrisies coming home to roost in the form of the most honest and best representation of their values they’ve ever had. They’re good values. Some would say the best values?
