Here are some more photos of Kristen Stewart and Soko last week. They spent a week in Paris, getting pap’d almost every day. They were seen holding hands. They were seen kissing. They were seen visiting a Parisian dentist. It was like Kristen Stewart wanted us to know that Soko is truly her official girlfriend now. And while I’m still okay with Kristen’s general street style, Soko’s street style just keeps getting worse and worse. This woman looks like the worst of the ‘80s barfed on her.
Kristen and Soko have already flown out of Paris and they are in LA now… I’m pretty sure. The Daily Mail had photos of them at De Gaulle over the weekend. Kristen’s life is in LA, that’s always been her homebase. Soko came to LA a few weeks ago for their first coupled-up pap stroll, and I wonder if Soko is going to be spending more time there in the future. I also wonder if Kristen will be spending more time in France? Speaking of, remember how Kristen filmed a role in a Woody Allen movie last year? Well, it’s coming to Cannes! Per Roger Friedman’s Showbiz 411 column:
Woody Allen’s new comedy, bound for the Cannes Film Festival, is called “Cafe Society.” The film set in the 1930s stars Steve Carell (replacing Bruce Willis), Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Alec Baldwin, Parker Posey and the inimitable Judy Davis. I told you exclusively on March 11th that the Woody film was going to Cannes. I’m told there are negotiations for a coveted spot, maybe even opening night. When “Midnight in Paris” opened Cannes it went on to be Woody’s biggest film ever.
It will be tricky getting Woody to Cannes since he’s filming his Amazon TV series this Month and next. But luckily “Cafe Society” is also with Amazon. I am told by the way that Roadside Attractions is NOT distributing “Cafe Society.” Woody has been spared that drama.
Kristen hasn’t been to Cannes since 2014, when Clouds of Sils Maria premiered at the festival. She was also there in 2012, when the Twihard thing was still happening. So… I’m guessing Kristen will come to Cannes this year to support Café Society, and now I’m wondering if Soko will be her red-carpet date.
PS… Soko posted this Instagram over the weekend with the message “SMILING NON STOP.” I do think that’s the dynamic – Soko is head-over-heels in love with K-Stew. And Kristen is permanently grumpy about everything. That’s how I read it.

I rather like Soko, and if she and Kristen are happy together that is great. But, I don’t know about all this posting on social media about “How happy I am about my new relationship” business. Whether it is Facebook, Instagram, etc whenever a person gets too over the top about meeting a new person or starting a new relationship it tends to go down in flames fairly quickly. I have seen this happen with many people I know on Facebook.
Soko’s clothes are atrocious, and by doing these obvious pap strolls she clearly wants us to see them. Just preemptively, before legions of commenters chime in again about how it’s sexist or some type of shaming to think so, I fully disagree. And think the term “shaming” is getting thrown into every argument in some way these days regardless of topic. I’m a feminist, I respect her right to wear ugly clothes, but when they’re this eye-catchingly ugly and she’s courting photographer’s attention, I think we’re also entitled to the opinion that they are fug.
The whole ‘shaming’ thing has been totally overblown, and I’ve said as much before. People want to throw that word around as a way to end an argument, but I find it tired and ignorant.
Now, Soko can wear what she wants. It’s her body, and she can do whatever she damn well pleases with it. But as spectators of these obvious pap strolls, we are entitled to have opinions. My opinion is her clothes are fucking hideous.

I don’t think anyone was shaming people for remarking that Soko has atrocious style (which she does). What bugged people, including myself, were comments that Soko looked “disgusting and unwashed”…not comments about her awful fashion sense. KStew’s hair can be awful at times, but Soko looked fine in that respect…so that in itself was a bit of a dogwhistle since it’s often used for people who aren’t particularly feminine.
I don’t know much about Soko since I’ve only heard about her recently, but I totally understand the ‘unwashed’ criticism towards Kristen. And no, I don’t think it has anything to do with the fact that she dresses like a tomboy and isn’t swanning around in dresses and heels all the time. She’s frequently papped with matted, unwashed hair. She wears those god awful caps with dirt and stains all the time, and she’s rarely photographed without a cig in her mouth. Now, she may smell as good as a summer peach, but based on the pics I’d say not.
I probably didn’t make myself clear. It was the fact that people were going after Soko also that was a bit of a dog whistle. Soko didn’t have a cigarette hanging out of her hand or mouth, her clothes were not wrinkled and looked fine if wacky, and her hair was a million times better than Kstew’s…and yet people were going after Soko hard for being “gross and unwashed.” If it was just a comment about KStew’s hair, it wouldn’t have been weird…but it wasn’t just that. Also some people were pretty OTT about KStew & when it was combined with the comments about Soko looking “disgusting” (altho I think Kaiser deleted some of the worst ones going at her)…you can see why people went hmmmm.
She could be the best dressed person in the World, and I’d still think she’s crazy thirsty.

When she smiles it takes away from all of the distracting bs she wears. Can anyone have *style* that is so completely over the top fug and still call it fashion? I feel like she’s been hanging out too long at those goodwill bins where you grab as many clones you want at $5/pound.
She seems utterly and entirely exhausting, give me Alicia and that laid back mellow vibe any day!
Soko lives in Los Angeles, not Paris. She comes in France only when she has work or a tour. But her producer and studio are in LA, she lives there for a couple of years now.
While I think the first few pap photos were to let it be known they were official or an “official” coming out since the tabs still danced around KStew’s sexuality, it’s weird there has been more since KStew can go months without being papped in L.A. I suspect the rest may either be Soko calling them and/or the sometimes homophobic tabs/paps still thinking a gay relationship is scandalous..hence the photos. I do remember Cara and Annie got papped like crazy when they first started dating so I do think that plays a factor.
Soko has a film that is probably going to be at Cannes too, so if they are still on the Twihards are going to have a complete homophobic meltdown since I wouldn’t be surprised if they walked the red carpet together at this rate. It will be interesting to see if Soko wears some outrageous outfit on the red carpet, or two or three since apparently KStew may have two films at Cannes.
I would probably die of shock if Kristen actually walked a carpet with her SO. It is against her whole ‘I’m so private, keep em guessing’ schtick.
I always figured the extreme privacy thing was more about the insane twihards and Twilight , being closeted, and an age thing since she was like 17-20/21 when that all went down. Since the tabloids and people moved on, she seems more zen about it….like she used to duck behind garbage cans and constantly flip the paps off and now she seems to ignore them 90% of the time.
I’d be shocked if she opened a public twitter account or gave a tell-all to a magazine, but walking a red carpet with a SO wouldn’t be that surprising imo. There’s a line between being a hermit and a Kardashian, which she seems to realize. RPattz was also pretty intense about his privacy in the Twilight days but now walks the red carpet with FKA Twigs, so he seems to have found that balance.

I’m enjoying these ladies as well as their attire. They never fail to give a nice chuckle.
So if they end up in Cannes, will Chanel dress them both? That is a scary thought.
Soko seems much more uninhibited generally though so I am not even sure she’s more in love just less concerned about what people think. I mean she’s a pretty full on intense type of person in regards too just about everything not just kstew.
Kstew always seems like she’s painfully shy and tries to hide behind a wall of I am so cool and it comes of as grumpy or awkward. But I actually think she seems more loved up with this girl than previous partners because of how carefree and open she is.

I used to be quite critical of Kristen in her Twi days, but I have to say she seems to have matured into herself quite nicely since then.
