Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been gushing about each other in the press for months. They can also be seen on The Voice, where former judge Gwen sometimes coaches on Blake’s team. They’re in love, they’re swooning over each other, they’re writing songs about each other and now they’re probably going to take the next step and get engaged. US Magazine is reporting that Blake is close to proposing to Gwen after they’ve been dating a whole five months. This would be Blake’s third marriage and Gwen’s second.
Before Miranda Lambert, Blake was married to his high school sweetheart from Oklahoma, a woman named Kaynette Williams who was there for him during his early career struggles. He met Miranda while he was married to Kaynette and it’s widely rumored that he cheated on his wife with Miranda, especially because Kaynette accused Blake of “inappropriate marital conduct” in her divorce filing. (Plus Miranda practically admitted it.) Kaynette currently works as a teacher in Oklahoma.
All of that is background to this engagement story. We’ve heard engagement rumors for some time, but this sounds imminent.
“Blake could propose to Gwen very soon,” a source close to Blake Shelton exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “Gwen is everything he wants.”
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the “Make Me Like You” singer, 46, said she is “for sure” in love with Shelton, 39.
For the the country superstar, who split with ex-wife Miranda Lambert in July, part of Stefani’s appeal is her three sons, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2 (with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale). “With Gwen, Blake has the family life he’d hoped to have with Miranda,” explains the source. And the boys are on board: “Her kids love him as much as she does.”
In fact, the pair of five months may have plans to expand the brood. “Blake wants kids of his own,” adds the source. “And Gwen is willing to try!…”
To keep their romance blazing, the pair stay in constant communication. “Gwen texts Blake a million times a day,” notes a second insider. “But he doesn’t mind at all.”
Gwen is 46 years old. It’s entirely possible that she can have more children, her youngest is just two years old, but it just doesn’t seem like a great idea, nor does a marriage to Blake, who has a probable history of infidelity. Maybe they’ll stay engaged for some time, but I bet they get married sometime this summer and sell the photos to People Magazine. (Or US, they seem to have US on speed dial.) These two are really cute together but for all their demonstrativeness they’re each other’s rebounds and I don’t see them lasting. (I’m sorry, Corey!) Plus, Gwen texts Blake “a million times a day.” How does she even have time for that?

It is true that once you’ve had kids you are more likely to conceive again. But there is still an elevated risk of issues.
I think we are underestimating the amount of rebound bounce Blake is going through. The focus seems to be on Gwen and her teenage feelings, but I think Blake was hella burned by whatever happened with Miranda.
My guess is he was devastated, then blindingly angry. And here comes a blonde celebrity who is just his type AND famous AND ready for family AND fawns over him … yeah I bet he is proposing and they are having a baby.

As for whether it will last…. I doubt it. Too much rebound energy. Baby will be a cutie pie though.

I am a forever Gwen FANGIRL…I adore everything about her and her concert I attended a few years ago was one of the best ever with the most incredible set.
So impressive…and a fantastic night.
Heck – my husband, who reluctantly came with me having the opposite taste in music – couldn’t believe the talent that she has and how wonderful the concert was.

I think it’s real, and I also think it began while they were still with their exes…as in they left their spouses for one another. They are so “extra”, which is why it’s hard to imagine it has only been happening for 5 months.
That’s odd. Because Gwen came home one day in February of 2015 like any other day, with little idea of what was to happen, and said by the next day her marriage had imploded because of what she found or was shown, her husband was banging the nanny. He ultimately confessed to a three-year affair.
How is that leaving her spouse for someone else? I I don’t even think she was filming the Voice when her marriage fell apart.
Miranda cheated on Blake and he isn’t going to be ashamed of his relationship with Gwen.
By the time people divorce, they have been separated for quite a while. It’s just no one knows about it. I’m sure Gwen and Blake began seeing each other while they were separated, so a bit longer than when they announced their relationship. That doesn’t mean they cheated on their spouses.

But why can’t rebounds last? Brad Pitt’s marriage with Jennifer was falling apart and he fell for Angie and settled right down. Tom Hanks, the same with his first wife and fell for Rita and settled down. Keri Russell left her husband for her co-star and they are still together and having a baby.
Their marriages were falling apart around the same time and were getting divorced at the same time and worked together and fell in love. I think they are a cute couple. The only thing I worry about lasting for them is he is an Oklahoma boy and it’s where he wants to raise kids. She has three and lives in California with shared custody with Gavin. Those two things are at odds and could ultimately be why they don’t last,

I never portrayed him as a saint. He married someone he had been dating since his late teens. What were the chances of not outgrowing that? He fell in love with Miranda and left his wife and married Miranda. That doesn’t make him some awful person incapable of a relationship. Because he cheated means he can’t be in love and have his heart broken? I believe he was reeling from the breakup of his marriage just as much as Gwen was hers..
Good lord am I tired of hearing that “I was young, I grew out of love” excuse. If he knew that, why didn’t he end the relationship instead of being a cheating asshole?

Oh dear, Zuma has her old nose and chin. I watched her recent SNL performance and it was terrible. Poor woman has Kardashian levels of self-esteem. Hopefully this is real and gives her the affirmation that she needs to stop screwing around with her face. Something nice…her body was sick and she still has her 90s abs at 46.

Actually what he did with his first wife is still wrong. He said in an interview something along lines ‘ I was a married man and I shouldn’t have been doing that’ which kinda explains he cheated on her. This is why nobody feels bad for Miranda.
Gwen comes across as a bit of a ditz anyway as sweet as she is. Watch her being interview. She doesn’t come across as terribly intelligent tbh, because if she was I don’t think she would even be dating Blake tbh.
I never said it wasn’t wrong. I was referring more to rarely do relationships that start that young last, and the fact that he really fell in love with Miranda and so left his wife for her.
He never acknowledged cheating. He said while performing on stage with MIranda for the first time he felt this strong connection that he had never felt before and thinking this isn’t right to be feeling that, I’m married. He said looking back he realizes he was falling in love with her right there on stage. They have denied dating until after he left his wife. Of course, all celebs in affairs say that. LOL.
Ironic thing is he and Miranda were cheating on each other so some love they had!
I don’t know why celebs who have affairs with each other and start dating don’t realise that they will just do the same thing back to each other when the honeymoon period is over….it’s not rocket science.

@Samantha, I think they are cute together and are in love. Marriage? First off, I don’t believe any covers about them getting engaged. He wanted his first divorce and still said it was one of the hardest things to go through. And he never married Miranda until about five years into the relationship. I would be very surprised after going through another divorce to see him jump into another marriage quicky. And if he did, it would be to have kids or because it was definitely in rebound to how much Miranda hurt him.
I still think the fact that he is an Oklahoma boy and has or is building a new house there and where his heart is to live just doesn’t jive with marrying a California girl with kids in a shared custody situation. There is no way Blake is going to settle down full-time in California and the Voice will end one day and he will be gone from California. Although, the show seems to be going strong.
The funny thing is Blake broke his first wife’s heart, and now he knows what that feels like, since it’s Miranda that broke his heart.
