Are Spike Jonze & Michelle Williams getting married?

29468pcn_Williams

Michelle Williams and director Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation) have been dating for less than a year, sort of. We don’t really know when they started dating, but they seemed to start really enjoy spending quality time together last summer. Michelle seemed to be moving on in her life at her own pace after Heath Ledger’s death – and Spike Jonze quickly seemed part of that. Spike has even been photographed with Michelle and Matilda. And why shouldn’t he be? No one expected Michelle to don black widow’s garb for life. She’s a young woman and a young mother, and it’s healthy for her to move on.

Star Magazine is reporting that over the course of the past year, Spike and Michelle have grown extremely close – to the point where Spike wants to marry Michelle and raise Matilda as his own. If this is the case, it would be Spike’s second marriage. His first was to director Sofia Coppola – from 1999 to 2003. Star has more:

Spike Jonze adores Michelle Williams’ daughter, Matilda, and he’s made the former Dawson’s Creek star smile again after the devastating January 2008 death of the tot’s dad, Heath Ledger.

So Michelle, 28, is happily planning to take a trip to the altar with her Being John Malkovich director beau of almost a year — as early as this summer, sources tell Star!

“They’re in love and absolutely thrilled with each other,” says a source. “They don’t see why they should wait much longer.”

Spike, 39, is already treating 3-year-old Matilda as if she’s officially his own. “Spike loves being with Matilda. He’s teaching her to skateboard and to ride a bike,” says a source.

“He never makes Michelle feel like taking care of her is a burden, because he truly thinks of them all as a family.”

[From Star Magazine]

Spike (real name: Adam Spiegel) is a man of many personas – sometimes, he seems like a guy’s guy, because he’s so into all of that BMX and Jackass stuff. Other times, he seems very sweet and shy. God knows what he’s really like, but I suspect he probably does love Michelle and Matilda. If they’re not already engaged, I bet they’re both thinking about it. God bless.

Here’s Michelle and Spike in Brooklyn with Matilda on April 10th, and sharing a kiss (alone) on March 22nd. Images thanks to Pacific Coast News.

I wish them all the best. Michelle and Matilda deserve the stability and love a union like this can provide (not to say they couldn’t get along well without him). Maybe Matilda will even get a baby brother or sister out of the deal.

don’t forget: she and heath were separated for quite awhile before his death. Not to say that there was no hope for a reunion,or that there is not deep grieving, but as far as moving on to dating…she may already have been,as heath may have been,as well.

That is not Spike with Michelle and Matilda. It’s Dan Estabrook (sp?), a friend of Michelle. But there is several photos of Matilda riding on Spikes shoulders around the internett! Just do a search….

It is healthy for her to move on, and while she did obviously mourn Heath’s death, they weren’t together when he died. I think she was rumored to be dating Ryan Gosling at the time. So if anyone thinks she has moved on too quickly, she and Heath actually separated well over a year and a half ago.

^^^Oh yeah, I knew that. There was speculation that the breakup contributed to Heath’s death (among many other things).

I wish them plenty of happiness, but I hope they wait at least another year before making a formal commitment. It’s easy to be madly in love the first year, when the relationship is new. It’s after you’ve been together for a significant length of time that you start to see each other realistically. And since she has a child already, she doesn’t have the luxury of making a mistake; if she marries this (or any guy) and the marriage fails, then that means the child gets to lose a second daddy. At this point I hope they continue happily together, but that they go sllloooowwwww. If they truly love each other and it’s mean to be, then that won’t be a bad thing.

Many “Ultra sensitives” are drawn to public life. Marilyn Monroe, Micheal Jackson and Heath Ledger. Their sensitivity allows them to be incredible artists, the down side to this nature is a fragile nervous system that is easily over excited, life in the public eye is over stimulating for them. The result is Insomnia. They become too wired to sleep, then too exhausted to sleep life becomes a living hell. I think was in the middle of a nervous breakdown and ultimately died of exhaustion.
