It might be comfortable, but it ain’t cute. The pants are nice, but the top and poncho/sweater are ugly and the shoes don’t go with it. She has an incredible body but this makes her look stumpy.
She never had good style, on or of the red carpet

    • susie says:

100% agree. for some reason, unbeknownst to me, this site glorifies JLaw. Not everything she does is awesome, and in my opinion, most of the stuff she does do (acting, modeling, partying) barely scratches “good” on any scale….

      • nicegirl says:

        +2

      • Jess says:

Wow, talk about being delusional. Apparently the academy only hands out 4 oscar noms and 1 win for “barely good” cause susie over here thinks she’s arbiter of what is and isn’t good acting.

        Your saltiness is showing.

      • JWQ says:

        Oh, God, this argument again?
She won an Oscar = she’ s the best actress ever and since it’ s a fact no one can think otherwise or they’ re pathetic jealous haters?

As if the Academy gives awards and nominations to people who deserve it and not to people who win the popularity contest of the year? I thought everyone knew that by now! And I thought everyone knew that an actor’ s talent is subjective and cannot EVER be objective?

      • Jess says:

        @JWQ

Oh God, this argument again? Name me one professional movie critic who thinks Jennifer Lawrence is “overrated”. You can say you don’t PREFER her style of acting or her personality but when you veer into “she can’t act at all” you’re just being disingenuous. If the general consensus among professional actors and critics is that Jennifer Lawrence is talented, maybe the problem lies with you. I thought everyone knew that by now! 🙂

And when did I say that 1 ocsar win automatically makes you the best actress ever? If you’re the youngest person EVER in the history of the academy awards to earn four straight nominations in a row + a win, you’re obviously doing something right as an actress. You’re being obtuse if you think otherwise.

But it must be hard when you’re trying to be oh so hipster & cool and let everyone know how “cultured” you are that you don’t find her acting up to par.

      +1

She can and should wear whatever she wants obviously, but there are so many thinks that are comfortable and look nice. Jennifers outfit just looks unflattering to me.

This and coachella made me realize once again how much I dislike the whole bare midriff trend.

  2. me says:

I like the pants, the shoes, and the poncho sweater. I don’t like the tank she has on though. But yeah her street style is usually pretty good.

  3. Elisa the I. says:

Yep, it looks normal. Not fashionable or stylish. So I don’t think normal is a compliment.

  4. Iamthatistoo says:

    She looks pregnant

    • Rhiley says:

Totally. The outfit is very unflattering. The pants are the worst.

      • Annetommy says:

It’s not great. But at least it’s not the human condom sausage skin onesie look as per Kimbot.

      • Tiffany :) says:

The pants do look bad, but I kind of wonder if she is standing in front of something dark. In both photos, between her knees the dark line is very horizontal…it doesn’t look like two pant legs coming together on a pair of drop crotch pants. It looks like someone standing in front of something dark that is making their pants look drop crotch. Or maybe I am just trying to comfort myself, lol.

  5. jammypants says:

oh lord, she’s “one of us” again right?

    • Wiffie says:

How dare she GET DRESSED, trying to be like us normal folks!! The nerve of that jlaw.

  6. Miss V says:

Her style is horrendous. She’s so pretty and her body is incredible, but she has absolutely no idea how to dress.

  7. amilu says:

I don’t understand the concept of sleeveless sweaters.

(And I don’t mean lightweight, crochet sweaters. This looks like a thicker, heavier knit.)

    • CornyBlue says:

It looks real good in photos. I have three and I only wear them of i go somewhere air conditioned and in summer.

      • amilu says:

Well it doesn’t look good on me, and I don’t think it looks good in these photos of JL. But then I can’t wear regular long-sleeved sweaters either (especially those with high necks and a loose fit). My boobs are too big, and it is just…not a good look. At all.

  8. Kitten says:

The American Independent Party thing is so confusing–I can’t say I blame celebs for making that mistake. I’m registered Independent and I almost got tricked by that sh*t when I went to renew my license late last year because the only four options were “Democrat, Republican, Independent or Unregistered”.

It’s easier online where it says specifically that “unenrolled” = “Independent”

    • Blue says:

I am genuinely curious as to why you need to declare your political leanings for a liscense renewal?

In Canada, most people don’t belong to a political party.

      • cat says:

In some states or areas, you can’t cross party lines to vote. Especially during the nominating process. In Georgia, I voted on the Republican ballot. Only Republican candidates were on the ballot. Republicans voted in Georgia for a Republican candidate to be on the final national ballot. Democrats only had Democratic candidates on their ballot. In November, when the actual vote for President, Senator, Representative, you can vote for either the Democratic or Republican candidates.

      • Tiffany :) says:

“why you need to declare your political leanings for a liscense renewal?”

In a lot of states you can renew your voter registration when you renew your driver’s license. It makes it easier to take care of and leads to greater voter turnout. In some states, they make it really hard to register or renew your voter registration, so being able to do it at the DMV when you get your new license is a great thing

      • Blue says:

        Thanks for explaining!

When we file our taxes, there is a selection to share your voter’s information with Elections Canada.

    • Mle428 says:

Kitten, that happened to me when I moved. I wasn’t able to vote for a primary candidate in 2008 because I thought I was registered as an independent. I have since remedied that error. It’s super confusing!

For whomever asked, in CA when you can get your address with the DMV you also can change your voter registration at the same time, to avoid issues voting in your new district/city/county. I always register to vote with my new address right away when I move.

OT: Did anyone see Clooney on Meet the Press yesterday? He dyed his hair and had some little boy haircut and I couldn’t even concentrate on what he was saying.

    • Really says:

Yes I saw Clooney on MTP. Seems to validify that he has political aspirations.

      • Rhiley says:

I don’t know. I take him at his word that while it is an obscene amount of money that goes into politics, he is Democrat and wants to take back Congress. Did you read that some of Ted Cruz’s cronies are behind what happened in North Carolina? There is absolute craziness going on in this country, and while I think Bernie Sanders is a swell guy, he kind of choked big time when asked how he plans to fund is pie in the sky proposals. And he can’t raise money for other Democrats in smaller races (George isn’t the first to point that out). I am not that keen on Hillary either, but I am a Democrat and I want the same things as George, a Democratic House and Senate.

      • Breakfast Margaritas says:

Weird how fixing things is deemed too hard, too much, too pie in the sky so we should just choose lifelong technocrat Hillary and not even try to aspire to better government. Meanwhile blue collar America continues to drown.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Anyone who is realistically thinking about “fixing things” HAS to include congress in their plans. A president alone can’t fix things, period. If you want campaign finance reform, Congress has to write and pass the legislation. If you want more regulation of big banks so that they don’t threaten our economy, Congress has to write and pass legislation.

One of the serious issues I have with the Bernie campaign is that he has no battle plan for how to accomplish his goals, and he has ignored the congressional races, which would be the very people who enact the change he hopes to create. It is very short sighted, unrealistic, and not pragmatic.

      • Pepper says:

I really don’t think he does, not in any major way. I could maybe see him doing a short stint as Governor down the line, but he’s 54 years old and he still hasn’t started to live his life in a way that suggests running for a rep or senate seat is on the cards. The tequila company, multiple homes overseas where he spends a lot of time, his lifestyle in general…if he was planning to run for anything he wouldn’t be leaking stories about how much he loves living in the UK, he wouldn’t be so public about his booze brand and he’d at least be trying to make it look like he mostly lives a quiet life in LA (even if he wasn’t). Not to mention he’s been pretty outspoken about problems with American politics, which would come back to bite him in a major way if he joined in.

He’s always sounded really passionate about film and especially directing, and I highly doubt he’d ever want to give up the extended Como vacay’s, the travel, the lifestyle.

  10. Kim says:

Some Kind of Monster is EVERYTHING. I need a Torbin Ulrich in my life.

  11. CornyBlue says:

Those look like one of those pants with super elongated crotch areas right ? They are so damn uncomfortable and my upper thighs keep rubbing with one another. Normal jeans are so much better.
Also I hate that hair colour

    • cat says:

CornyBlue I was wondering what was wrong with the crotch. Does she have a sweater tied around her waist or is the crotch droopy? The pants don’t look comfortable to wear. She looks okay, no good or bad, just okay.

      • Pepper says:

She has a sweater or shirt around her waist, you can see the sleeves better in other picks.

  12. Esther says:

I saw the Metallica documentary, not a fan but its still great. usually you really have to like the music and band to sit trough something like that but they had so much drama in the band it was really interesting. it was barely about the music, cant only recommend even if you arent a fan.

  13. Mimz, says:

Oh why don’t you like Botched? I LOVE it. It’s one of the few (if not only) non-exploitative tv-shows that E! has, I mean, of course there’s the crass nicknames they identify the patients with, but it’s not just a stupid “makeover” show, they basically fix people with horrible plastic surgery mistakes, and how this addiction (to some), or how looking for doctors in Tijuana can kill you. Some people inject oil or cement on their bodies, it’s crazy! And when there’s someone showing up with a crazy idea, and unhealthy idea, they don’t do the surgery and give them suggestions to get better – like, go to a psychologist, go reduce your implants, etc.
Ok if you can’t tell, I love Drs. Dubrow and Nassif.

  14. Lucy says:

Regardless of what I think of her street style (I don’t hate it, btw), I like that she seems to dress for herself.

  15. what's inside says:

At least she looks clean and not grubby.
