Maggie Gyllenhaal is going to be a spokesmodel for Agent Provocateur, replacing Kate Moss. Kate did a campaign last year as a favour to company owners Serena Rees and her husband Joseph Corre.
She [Katie Moss] was furious after Ms Rees had an affair with Paul Simonon, former bassist of the Clash, who was married to one of Moss’s best friends.
Ms Rees left Mr Corre, the son of Dame Vivienne Westwood and Sex Pistols founder Malcolm McLaren, for Simonon.
MG has been called too ‘girl next door’ for the job. This probably isn’t fair, since she was raunchy in secretary, and is threatening to be great in Katie Holmes’ Batman role.
About the Batman role she says,
I’m not thinking of it as a role that anyone’s played before. I’m not walking into Katie Holmes’ performance. I’m thinking of it as an opportunity to play somebody who’s alive and smart. Chris asked me to do this because he wanted me, not because he wants some generic lady in a dress.
I love the idea of this woman as the face (body?) of a lingerie company. Lingerie is for everyone, and there is just something about kicking ass with frilly knickers on!
