Taylor Swift was out and about most of Thursday in LA. She got pap’d throughout the day as she went shopping with girlfriends (and bodyguards), and then she went out for Gigi Hadid’s big birthday party at The Nice Guys in LA. Because the photos were taken at different times of day and night, we’re getting a better look at her newish platinum blonde hair in different light. In the high-noon sunlight photos (where her hair looks white-blonde), I absolutely adore this shade of blonde on her. It looks different, young, rock n’ roll and flattering. But in the other photos, I’m not feeling it as much, perhaps because this is still a fundamentally bad haircut, right?
I would assume that Taylor will keep her hair some variation of this platinum shade for next week’s Met Gala, which goes down Monday evening. Taylor is the co-host, along with Idris Elba and Jonathan Ive. I would assume Taylor will be flying into NYC this weekend and she’ll probably spend a solid day or more in dress fittings. We don’t know which designer she’s going to wear but my guess is for something metallic-but-still-princessy. Not J. Mendel. Not Givenchy. Maybe Chanel? The theme of this year’s Met Gala is “Manux X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” A lot of people are joking about coming to the Met Gala dressed as robots.
So what are the odds that Taylor will change up her hair again ahead of the Met Gala? I hope she doesn’t – the platinum seems to go with the robotic/machinery vibe.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Taylor’s hair before, but this cut and color are the WORST.
I kind of like it. Although when I saw only the top of her head on my phone as the photo was loading, I thought it was Camilla!

I HATE her haircut with the fire of a thousand suns but this color is spectacular and frankly saves that horrendous ass haircut from Mom that carpools into- kinda cool
100% agree. The colour saves the haircut. Makes me even half like it but probably because it’s grown out a bit too.
I love the cut, but the ashy blonde she had before was much nicer.
This rock n roll vibe doesn’t really suit her. Maybe if she did it in a 70s, boho way, that would look good on her. But this 80s type thing isn’t her thing.

she probably did this for the met gala, i think she’ll use it to ‘stand out’ or whatever and it’ll be different in a few months.
Yeah, I didn’t think anything could top the ash color, but this Dollar General Michelle Williams is terrible.

I love this color on her! Very Michelle Williams. It’s a nice change for her, since she seems to never play with hair color.
Now she looks like every other wanna-be starlet in entertainment. She had such beautiful hair….and the shade was so classy. Now she looks like a cheap version of herself. Ugh.

I like the dark lipstick on her, but the hair color and style just look outrageously bad on her. Nothing Taylor does is rock and roll. I think she’s trying to switch up her style, maybe for her new album, but she’s not edgy. It just looks very try hard.

I’m not super crazy about the cut (to me it looks pretty much the same as her usual style) but yeah, I love the color.
When I saw just the header pic I was like “oh God no” but looking at all the pics here, I actually like it too. She’s young-she can get away with platinum. She’s at the age where she should experiment and have fun, plus this is at least a little edgier than the mom ‘do she was sporting for a while.

It’s interesting to me. She changes the way she dresses to match the color of her hair/or hairstyle. She was dressing so conservatively at one point. Just before she became public with her boyfriend. Now she seems to be changing her clothing choices again. Nothing wrong with that; but just something I noticed.

It looks like a wig. Way too light. She’s trying to reinvent herself. Blondie she is not. But the cut is better than the basic bob stuff she had on her head, although that seemed to match her personality. Oh lord to be famous and judged by us internet people. It’s okay, she’s rich and happy.
She’s young, and I love seeing her mix it up. I think she will keep the hair for a while longer. I saw a full-length shot of her in that sparkly dress which isn’t all one length and with short boots and her legs are to die for in that dress and it was a very cool, but nontry-hardy look on her.

Kim wouldn’t miss the gala for anything. They will be there.
I like it, it’s different and it’s nice to see her change it up. I think a lot of women go through a platinum phase. I know I did, I called it my playboy bunny blonde days. It was fine, but I knew not something I would keep forever. Maybe I’ll be inspired to do it a again. It’s just hair.
Ghesquiere, Prada, and Lagerfeld are co-chairs, so I’m guessing she’ll wear one of those.
The theme has nothing to do with robots; it’s about the evolution from handmade to machine-made clothing. As in the SEWING machine. I’m sure plenty of celebs will come in futuristic gear, though, and all the vintage hand-sewn dresses will look out of place. (Though I guess the dichotomy is part of it too.)
This happens every year, but it’s STILL frustrating… they release a very specific description of the theme, yet attendees and the press fixate on the title and draw their own conclusions.

yes, she should definitely keep the colour since it’s the best it ever looked. i find her usual shade to be way too ashy. even the haircut is growing on me now, looks better a little it wavy.
The hair is no bueno.
I wish she’d do something about the fringe (she consistently has issues with that) but I love the color–hope she knows what a b!tch it is to maintain, though…the time in the salon, the money spent there and on deep conditioners (though I’m sure that aspect isn’t a concern for her), the wear and tear on your scalp…

I like it in a way but I’d like a different cut. I always thought, based on her looks, that a more androgynous edge would suit her. Cutesy twee and overt sex kitten don’t work for her. She isn’t dainty and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, in fact I think it’s her strength, but she tries to be something different so it never quite works.
i don’t even dislike her, but she looks like a Swedish guy. It’s weird, like, I can’t see the least bit of attractiveness in her. I think she should spend less time on hair/more time on learning how to sing. She has a fantastic start, becoming famous for “singing”, now she needs to learn her craft. For example, Shania is a fantastic songwriter, good enough guitarist, but can’t sing a note. I think tone deafness should be investigated.
