Many of you already discussed this in Friday’s KING HARRY post, but it’s worth dedicating a full post to this. The Invictus Games are almost here, and this year’s games are being held in Florida. Considering First Lady Michelle Obama’s dedicated work with military families and veterans, she’s been all over the Invictus Games and she and Prince Harry have gotten quite close in the past few years in particular. Even when the Obamas came for dinner at Kensington Palace, Michelle and Harry were the only ones who greeted each other as intimate friends (Harry couldn’t help but go in for a kiss, right in front of the PRESIDENT!). The point is that Michelle and Harry enjoy each other. Michelle is one of us, I suspect: she sees Harry as the dirty-sexy, roguish ginger snap that we see too. So, on Friday, the First Lady and Pres. Obama issued a video challenge to Harry and Team Britain ahead of the Invictus Games:

First of all, does Harry just call FLOTUS “Michelle”? O RLY? While this trash-talking was obviously planned out, I still love it. I love that the Queen played along. I love that Harry pulled out the big guns with the Queen. What I don’t love? That Michelle hasn’t responded. Yet. Michelle will make him pay. Probably by making Harry give her a foot rub.

I kid you not, GNATTY, I literally just looked up ticket prices for the opening and closing ceremonies and they’re not that bad. I have yoga teacher training on the day of the opening ceremony, but if I’m off on the 12th for the closing ceremony I may actually try and find a way to swing this.

I checked out dates and times for Invictus, but next week is bad for childcare for me, so I don’t think I’ll make it to anything. 🙁 Even though Orlando and Prince Harry will only be 1.5 hours away.
But for those of you in the US with cable, ESPN2 and ESPN3 will be showing the games, and watching would be a good way to support if you can’t go in person. Website said they’d be shown on the WatchESPN app as well.

Somebody previously commented that William can’t cut loose like Harry because he’s burdened by protocol and duty or whatever. Yet the Queen does this viral video and the Olympic/007 skit and there’s loads of home movies of her being a normal, jolly person. Charles isn’t as stuffy as William either.
So maybe it’s because it’s William’s personality, not because of his position.
Anyhoo, why hasn’t William asked the Queen to help promote the EAAA? Is it because she knows he’s barely works there anyways?

Yes and no, they released photo’s of George before his first birthday but as usual with these 2 the timing is always shifty. I still think they will turn up at the games to get in on the action – they will have seen all the good press he’s been getting and will want a piece of the action. The Charlotte and Vogue shots won’t do anything to improve things – if anything the Vogue shots will make things even worse. If she has time to pose for them then she clearly has time to give out medals.
And shamrocks. Her only priority is her vanity, it seems. This self-aggrandizement coupled with her work-shy attitude and selective appearances will bite her in the butt one day.
