Call me crazy, but I love that the Hadid sisters came to the Met Gala with their high-profile boyfriends. And I love that the boyfriends played along!!! Gigi Hadid came to the Met Gala with her boyfriend Zayn Malik, who decided to go with the theme and wear a tuxedo with robot arms. Which is amazing. Gigi wore a simple (albeit slightly boring) Tommy Hilfiger gown which has the benefit of being flattering and uncontroversial. Besides, who’s looking at her gown when her boyfriend has robot arms?! I love that Zayn did that, and I love that he was her date, and I love looking at the two of them together. They are SO CUTE.
Meanwhile, Gigi’s sister Bella Hadid came to the Met Gala with her official boyfriend The Weeknd. Two years ago, I would not have thought that The Weeknd was the kind of dude who would agree to be a plus-one at the Met Gala, but I believe The Weeknd has made the choice to “play the game.” And it’s a good thing – he takes these events seriously, and he comes across as professional-and-fun. Bella wore this Givenchy ensemble which… is too much. I liked the top half (and this is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen her look), but the bottom half is too much.

I have seen that exact same look from Gigi a thousand times, it’s soooooo boring. This couple and their constant PDA is actually starting to annoy me. Zany left right after the red carpet photos so I question why he was even there at all. I like Bella’s look though.
I second this. I also feel like with every passing year, the Met Ball gets less interesting. The fashion is nothing memorable and it’s just become a parade of famous people’s kids. I just wasn’t impressed with most of the attendees. This saddens me, I used to love this event. 🙁
At least Gigi smiles, looks relaxed, and looks like she’s actually having a good time. I’ve never, ever seen Bella wear any other facial expression than this one. Literally have never seen another facial expression on this girl. She comes across dead in the eyes, pretentious,and stuck up. It irritates me to an irrational level.
And you can tell Zayn and Gigi are genuinely into each other. While I have no cares to give about them individually it is pretty cute
I actually burst out laughing when I got to the pics of Bella. So try-hard and such an epic fail. She thinks she’s looking fierce but she just looks like she smells a fart.
I like Zayn’s look that to me was very interesting so I can forgive Gigi for wearing that dress because I only have eyes for Zayn. Now between Gigi & Bella, I would wear Gigi’s dress over whatever plush thing Bella has on the bottom of her dress. Bella needs to relax with the “fierce” expression, isn’t she only 19? Smile a little, models are allowed to.
Because they are in a pr relationship that’s why, so of course they will flaunt it until the contract is over. I don’t give them more than a year.

Zayn is genuinely not into this type of thing so I am actually surprised he even bothered. I have no idea when he left it seems to be based on one photo of him with his stylist anyway. And it’s the Ziams who spread this around.
They both look happy and loved up in photos shoots but they both look miserable in pap pics and genuinely don’t look into each other. Both gorgeous ppl probably just promoting thier brands. That’s the name of the Hollywood game. Can’t fault them for it.

I don’t think Zayn is as into her as she is into him. I think he’s with her purely for attention, his career etc. Look at them together.
His robot arms were to get himself attention, of course. He’s not even smiling. He looked genuinely happy with his past girlfriend, but not with Gigi. And i’ve got nothing against these two being together it just looks very different to me than how others see this.

I don’t see it at all with his ex.First of all cheated on her very publicly multiple times and subsequently dumped her so its a bit off to suggest he was so content with her. Not to mention her band has the same management as 1D so the notion that they as a couple weren’t used at least in some parts as PR by the management is pretty far fetched. Some of the chesy photo shoots he did with his ex were so obviously PR. I could defiently be said that the Zayn connection has helped give Little Mix attention and that in turn meant $$$$ for their shared management and cowell.
Zayn’s suit is actually working for me. It goes with the theme. The Weekend’s suit looks like he borrowed it from his Dad–it’s in desperate need of tailoring.

That’s going to be to her advantage in the future. She has one of those faces that will look 35 for most of her life. Maybe not great when you’re 20, but when she’s 50 she’ll be thankful.
This is just my opinion of course, but the fashion of this year MET gala was so underwhelming. So much disappointment. First of all, the number of D-listers gets higher every year. It seems like many A-listers have started to bail on it.
The event used to be (or at least look)very exclusive, but now any other celebrity / famewhore with some cash to splash is given access..
Also, how hard was it to actually be spot-on with the theme and at least pretend you had fun dressing up and all?

Roxburgh Park in Melbourne Australia. We have a large Muslim population in this area and the average age of Roxy residents was 28 last time I checked. Plus, I’m a heterosexual male, so in terms of looks guys don’t really catch my eye in that way.

Kitten YES exactly! He’s gorgeous. I generally am not attracted to pretty men (I like some scruffiness) but when I see someone like Zayn I have to stop and stare. He’s definitely not what I’d call average in any way shape or form.
@Dangles – I live in a country which has a 200 million+ Muslim population, a lot of whom are of similar extraction as Zayn (his Punjabi side, anyway), so basically I’ve seen a lot of Muslim guys.

Yes Roxburgh Park has a high(ish) Muslim population but Muslims have a pretty broad range of ethnic backgrounds and they don’t all look the same & they definitely don’t all look like this dude. Boy band looks never did much for me when I was younger & I’m at an age now where it feels distinctly creepy to be discussing the relative hotness of someone Malik’s age but trust me if he was ‘average’ in RP it would have the highest % of young single females living there & would be a much more desirable neighbourhood than it is.
Yes. I know Muslims have a broad range of backgrounds but around here they’re mainly from Iraqi or Turkish backgrounds, according to the stats I read a few months ago. But you’re probably right about my hetro eye, most guys are pretty generic to me. It’s rare that I’ll be taken back by how handsome a guy is, even if I know on an intellectual level that they’re what’s generally considered handsome.

Gigi and Bella both look really nice though I feel like I’ve seen this look on Gigi a hundred times before. She stayed very close to her comfort zone. Zayn and Gigi are definitely PR but definitely also really into each other. They put on such a display for the cameras and Zayn was apparently only there for like 10-15 minutes–he walked the red carpet and then left immediately after. Bella/The Weekend are still trucking along. They’re so lowkey I often forget they’re together.

Pretty sure Gigi has a contract to be face of one of Hilfiger’s ad campaigns so that’s probably why she’s rocking something from him. Though, I thought she also had a contract for Versace’s spring/summer campaign? Maybe Hilfiger and Versace trade on/off on which house dresses her for her red carpet appearances? I was surprised that Versace (or Balmain) didn’t dress her for an event like this though.
Usually your dress (and by extension, who you’re guest of) at the Met Ball is a status symbol. One would imagine that as an in – demand model she’s got contracts with multiple clothing labels, so how did she end up with Hilfiger, who is definitely NOT high fashion, at the biggest fashion event of the year?

As a tall woman married to a man three inches shorter, my advice to her would be “own it, woman!” I have grown to love being the taller one in a couple, and my husband is absolutely perfect the way he is. I don’t slouch like I used to when we first got together. There’s nothing wrong with being taller than your man; in fact I think it’s fabulous.

Gigi’s nails were better than the outfits. It was a $2000 manicure, there little sparkles on the back of the nail. The polish looked like solid silver.

I’ve actually seen Zayn in person, I work for his PR firm, and let me tell you- this man is stunning. I’ve met and conversed even with quite a few celebrities, all egregiously beautiful of course, but Zayn really is very good looking. Lives up to his name. He was also quite polite and well-mannered, which I appreciated. I never followed him before, but it’s safe to say I was interested in him after that day.
It’s quite annoying when people assume Zayn is moody or arrogant just from looking at pictures of him. He’s a very reserved guy, and his face is just naturally stoic. If you watch his interviews, you will notice how soft-spoken and polite he is. Also quite intelligent.
Him and Gigi are sweet. I really liked his look, I like men taking risks stylistically. And he really pulls it off. The Weeknd looked alright, save for a lack of tailoring. I never know what to think of Bella. Her perpetual dead-eyed look can get a bit boring after a while. She is very beautiful, though.
I personally don’t get the fuss around Zayn, I have fairly broad taste in men and he does absolutely nothing for me. I find him average looking. But to each their own. That said, his “robot arms” look like he ripped them off some cheap suit of armor…
You should check out closer candid shots of Zayn! From his Paris Fashion Week appearance in 2015, and the Billboard, Fader magazine photoshoots. While Zayn looked great at the MET Gala, the photography isn’t conducive to showing the angles and contours of people’s faces. That is actually Zayn’s distinguishing physical feature- his facial structure and cheekbones. Also another appearance that comes to mind is the 2014 BBC Awards appearance. Those photos are closer and show the planes of his face better, in my opinion.
