Lindsay Lohan goes on luxury shopping spree

It looks like Lohan’s addictions aren’t limited to just Samantha and whatever she’s doing to keep herself thin as a pin. We reported yesterday that Lindsay was seen shopping at high end luxury boutiques Gucci and Louis Vuitton while she was on vacation in Hawaii. The NY Daily News reports that she wasn’t just browsing and dropped “thousands” on designer handbags:

Lindsay Lohan’s having some pricey post break-up fun in the sun.

The starlet, along with a few of her gal pals and her sister Ali, spent the weekend in Hawaii, where Lohan soaked up some rays in a teeny bikini … at a public park.
During the vacay the actress, who recently complained that she can’t get an acting gig, also dropped thousands of dollars on designer bags during a shopping spree.

“If people would just leave my personal life alone – because it’s really not that interesting – then I could land a great role, but all the sicko fans and the noise is so distracting,” Lohan griped to E! News late last month, after admitting she’s nervous about paying her mortgage.

Just for kicks, I reviewed the “I Am So Alone: Dumped, Humiliated, Broke and Crying” US Weekly cover story on Lohan’s breakup with Ronson from a couple of weeks ago. I forgot how broke she supposedly is. According to US Weekly’s source, it’s moderately bad. The interview with Lohan was about how wronged she supposedly was in the breakup and didn’t focus on her financial situation, but they include quotes from an insider who claims “she has a tiny bit of money.”

Lohan… told Nylon in March, “It’s scary when you realize, Oh my God, I’m not working. And have a house to pay for now.” How broke is the actress – who recently boasted she and Sean Penn were trying to develop a movie with Seth Rogen (Rogen denied it)?” “She’s blown so much money on crap like shopping, traveling and partying,” says a source. Indeed , that $115,000 Maserati she’s been driving around is a loaner from a porn king. But a source counters, “She’s not completely broke. She has a tiny bit of money. And, to her credit, she’s a hustler.” After the article got out, Lohan “regretted letting everyone know how hard up she is,” says a source. “She thinks if movie executives see how much she’s struggling, no one will hire her. It costs so much to insure her on the set of a movie that she’s starting to offer to pay for her own insurance rate.”

Lindsay: “Here’s the thing: everyone’s told me to leave Samantha for so long because of what her friends have been doing. It’s s—t like this that hurts my career. I don’t know, I need to just – this is hurting my f–king career.”

So what did Lindsay do after complaining to US Weekly, E! and Ellen that the tabloids and fans were interfering with her career? She went on a vacation to Hawaii, either told the paparazzi where she was or made sure she was easy to find, and posed in her bikini and went to a mall to blow some cash. Is that going to help her career or just chip away at the comparatively moderate money she makes from endorsements and event appearances?

Here’s Lohan blowing her cash in Maui with sister Ali and friends this weekend. Images thanks to Pacific Coast News.

If she’s truly worried about her mortgage, don’t you think it would be wiser to not spend thousands on handbags? sheesh…

  2. Carrie says:

Who paid for this shopping spree? I thought Lindsey was broke since no body will hire her!!

  3. Benjamin says:

Good gravy, I want to be La Lohan. Apparently other people’s money just magically finds a way into your hands, ‘cos I’m damn sure that Fornarina commercial isn’t paying her bills.

  4. HEB says:

I believe she has a AmEx Black Card with no limit, probably put this trip on that card.

  5. Hieronymus Grexx says:

I thought the little skank was broke ?

  6. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

Oh is this what she was taking a vacation from? The hard work of spending money she doesn’t have? Poor wee blotchy thing!

  7. Because I Say So says:

I wonder if her porn king is fronting her for now? Do you reckon in 6 months there will be a sex tape “leaked” where she’ll cash in?

  8. cakes says:

It must be nice not having a job but still being able to go on vacation and designer shopping sprees.

  9. ash says:

okay Lindsay, time to hibernate! Your media(and money) whoring is at an all time high. Lay low!

  10. Michelle says:

Oh, give the girl a break. She obviously has some extra cash to blow, seeing as she obviously doesn’t spend any on food. 😉

  11. Zoe (The Other One) says:

    LOL @ Michelle!

This daft cow deserves every single thing she has coming to her. What little sympathy I may have had deep down in my blackened bitter soul for her has now evaporated.

    Bring on the sex tape.

  12. Tia says:

Zoe..kind of harsh.. geezzz… you don’t even know her. Give me a break. Retail therapy is good.. good for her..

You know I was just watching the Parent Trap the other day with my little girl…I was just saying to myself, what a fine little actress/role model she would had been if it wasn’t for sh*t azz parents…the same for Britney. I do not know for the love of God how Dina Lohan could even be nominated for Mother of the year…that’s like nominating Dick Cheney for a Nobel Peace Prize!!SMDH!!! I blame the parents for this phuckery…..I honestly makes me angry and upset that Raven and Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee) have to work so hard being African American teen idols, and they honestly do not get the same or much deserved attention as Britney, Lindsey and Miley. Although they are young African American actresses, they are still holding up the light for all young girls of color to see them, but the media does not give them the positive attention and focus that they deserve….We still have a long way to go my fellow Americans….SMDH!!

God this girl makes me sick!

  15. Bolognese says:

All good and no offense but..how on earth did this end up being about race?

Seriously. I mean, african american actresses might not get a lot of press but all the press Lohan, Cyrus and Spears get is pretty sh*tty. So…I mean..wow. It baffles me how every single subject comes down to race. Then I should be offended, being white, that all these tweeny sh*theads get bad rep? o.O I could care less but…you know…what does race have to do with this AT ALL?

And sorry I edit this again but a good example is a good example regardless of color.

  16. Cinderella says:

I just want to know when she’s having the garage sale.

  17. lrm says:

Um,Raven Symone gets decent press…and she’s black. Do these other girls mentioned live in LA and ‘court the media’?
Also, akeelah and the bee has only been out for what,a few years? Brittany and Lindsay have been around for years….and years….esp. brittany.
Miley-well,her dad’s famous-so nepotism is alive and well, just like will smith’s kid getting acting gigs in major movies. Miley was primed to be shoved in our faces as the next new ‘thing’. She happens to be white to appeal to that materialistic tween set,not to be a ‘good role model’.
So,those covered excessively by the media are never covered b/c they are ‘good role models’-but b/c what they do sells. or the media wants you to think it sells.

  18. lrm says:

Not only that, but why does every discussion about teen celebs or child stars come down to role models? c’mon-if you really are looking for tv and movie actors to be role models, you’re in trouble. I don’t give a sh*t if my 8 yr old can look up to any of these people.
Nearly all kid movies and tv shows have antagonistic relationships between kids and parents…some are worse than others. Raven and Lizzy McQuire were better. Even the preschool cartoons rarely showed wisdom and parental sharing. [‘little bill’-bill cosby’s show-was an exception off the top of my head…] Honestly, media is for shaping opinion and making money, and making money always wins out. We need to stop asking whether or not these things are good role models for our children. Just screen and decide what gives a good message-AND,tell your kids why someone or something is NOT a good model/example.
I’m sure many do this-I’m just saying how ridiculous it is that we run around focusing on ‘oh,is this a good role model’. F–k it! We don’t need good role models on tv,for god’s sake. That’s why it’s called ‘entertainment’,not ‘education’. It will not,and should not ever, take the place of actual relationships with real people. The end.

  19. j. ferber says:

Your point is well-taken, ThatBKChick. In terms of publicity, though, the good girls don’t get the press the bad girls do. That would mean the African American tween actresses would have to be bad girls, so they wouldn’t be role models for any girls and might end up fanning people’s prejudices and racial stereotypes.

  20. Bodhi says:

Oh puh-fucking-lease. This has less than nothing to do about race.

LL is a spoiled brat with massive substance substance abuse/ addiction problems who flat out refuses to accept the help she needs. There is nothing race related whatsoever

  21. j. ferber says:

I’d also like to add that I’d like to go on a luxury shopping spree, too.

  22. Tru-Dru says:

It is true what one of you said African-American Actresses, and other Actresses of Minority Groups do not get good Press like White Women get…The Media, and the Entertainment are Ran by Whites whom in turn deceive the American People into forcing what they must Watch. Great Entertainers despite their hard work like Raven-Symone who has her own company do not get any Press at all; quite A few people can tell u who the Bad Influences are such as Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Kim Kardashian is, then you have the Racial Gap which supports Miley Cyrus, and Britney Spears along with the Occasional Beyonce overadvertisments but positive role-models get no Love.
