Duchess Kate wears Banana Republic for launch of ‘Heads Together’: cute?

wenn23865809

As I previewed yesterday, today was the big launch of Heads Together, a joint mission for Prince William, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Cambridge. Heads Together is an umbrella organization bringing together about a dozen charities, campaigns and initiatives that deal with mental health and mental illness. Will and Kate, as we know, have been very “keen” on mental health issues for months now, and Harry’s focus has primarily been on the mental health of soldiers and veterans. So, today brought us the formal launch of their campaign, even though I thought Heads Together was launched last month, with that awkward-ass video. This launch today is all about raising money for Heads Together – the Cambridges and Harry want to raise £1.1 million, although I’d really like to know if that money is for the actual charities or for this new umbrella organization.

For the launch, Kate coordinated with both her husband and her brother-in-law with this navy and black £105 Banana Republic skirt. To me, that seems like a Michelle Obama move, wearing a mass-market piece from a company like Banana Republic (FLOTUS often wears pieces from the Banana, or the Gap, or J.Crew). Kate paired the skirt with a £290 Binky blouse and blue Rupert Sanderson shoes. Slow clap for Kate for not wearing nude pumps. Kate also did the high-low thing last night at a horsey birthday event for the Queen – you can see photos here. Kate wore a £3,400 Dolce & Gabanna dress with an unflattering £49.99 Zara coat.

Meanwhile, Katie Nicholl at the Daily Mail made a big deal yesterday about how Will, Kate and Harry have aligned themselves with the charity CALM, a charity that is currently celebrating Britain’s National Masturbation Month. CALM is trying to destigmatize getting one’s rocks off by oneself, for which I say God bless and Godspeed. The very fact that reporters are trying to tie Kate (in particular) to a pro-masturbation mental health campaign is the whole reason why there is a National Masturbation Month and why it should be destigmatized.

Will, Harry and Kate also made a three-person launch speech – go here to see some video clips. Kate’s accent could cut glass.

  1. Locke Lamora says:

I love the top. The blouse is lovely. I like the print of the skirt, but the cut seems off. The shoes are nice.
And controversial opinion – she looks so so so much better with her hair down.

    • Goats on the Roof says:

I prefer her hair off her face because it keeps her from fussing with it.

      • Locke Lamora says:

        Yeah, good point.

I get why she fusses with it though. I recently watched my old prom video, and I never realised how much I fiddle with my hair. But I was so uncomfortable with people watchin me I just did it instinctively. She’s probably the same.

      • Luxe says:

I think I’d do that too. I think if I were in Kate’s position I’d have to take some lessons from someone like that guy that helped Diana with her public speaking. I have a lot of nervous habits like she does. Maybe an acting coach or something could help?

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

The cut seems off because with the print, it should have been a pencil skirt. Too much print/fabric as an A-line. I think she was just hoping for a strong breeze.

    • AtlLady says:

I am just the opposite. I love the skirt and shoes but the blouse just doesn’t go with the skirt. In fact, it looks very matronly and is ill-fitting. Are puffy sleeves making a comeback? Yuck.

      • Vava says:

Me too….except I think those shoes are very matronly and overly conservative for Kate.

        The blouse is not working.

The skirt could work with the right top, jacket, and accessories. But once again, Kate……………………… . . . .

  2. CidySmiley says:

    Couple of things:
    1. Did she color her hair? It’s looks lighter mm maybe high lights or something? It looks different.

    2. I like this look on her! It’s a good summer look.

    3. Poor Harry. That balding spot grows bigger by the day, but I wonder why theyve never done anything to try and keep the hair there, my brother in law has a balding spot and did some six week hair treatments and it was thick and full again, I just wonder why they never did that.

    • Locke Lamora says:

Re: balding – why not shave it off? Why do both him and William insist of having longish hair with the bald spot.
There’s nothing wrong with being bald, but once it gets to this point, keeping the remaining hair doesn’t look good.

    • Esmom says:

My husband did Rogaine on his hair when he first started losing it but you need to do it indefinitely, not just for six weeks. It worked but he got tired of the regimen and said screw it and let his hair fall out. Meanwhile his brother has been doing it for decades and his hair is still hanging on. Maybe Harry doesn’t care that much.

      • CidySmiley says:

My brother in law did a treatment at the hospital not rogane. But yeah I can see not caring about it.

    • Deedee says:

As for Kate, she’s added longer extensions. You can tell the difference in how they take the curl and the texture.

  3. mellie says:

I LOVE that Banana Republic skirt!

    • Anett says:

Me too. Still, she looks so bland. This look might have been better with a necklace or something.

I can’t listen to her, sorry.

      • mellie says:

I agree about the necklace…BR makes some great costume jewelry. Maybe next time….

      • Jib says:

Oh, my goodness, that accent!! She’s quite fancy, huh?? Seriously, did she always talk like this?

And on the twitter feed, you can see all you need to know about these three. They wrote on a board on a wall what made them happy.

        Harry: making someone smile

        Wills: his children

        Barbie Katie: a walk.

#poorjason must be off somewhere, banging his head against the wall. Such revealing answers!!!!

    • Hudson Girl says:

But, why is she supporting and promoting what is an AMERICAN company once again?!
She is a representitive of Great Britain etc. She should be using her Global-wide press to support her own countrymen. Bad form.

      • Deedee says:

        She’s also spending a mint at D & G.

      • Bella says:

I assume banana republic has stores and investments in the UK, employing lots of people in various functions from retail to marketing, legal and other management? Seems strange and flying against modern economic thought to be against foreign investment in ones own country. In fact, the UK needs more of it.

      • Hudson Girl says:

LOL! So, you are arguing that Kate is supporting International economic investments by wearing that skirt?!

Bella, Banana Republic is part of Gap Inc. which is a privately owned company. Gap, Inc. has different “Headquarters” in several locations (LA, NYC, Beijing, Paris, Tokyo, Toronto, Shanghai). But Gap, Inc.’s main operating hub/corporate offices is at their “Global Headquarters” in San Francisco, California.
In London they merely rent out a suite in Berkeley Square House in Mayfair.
For a sense of scale, Gap Inc has 3,076 worldwide stores- 2,551 are in the U.S.

That’s 2 minutes with Google. But, I LOVE to watch the Will/Kate Sugars twist frantically in an effort to make the royal couple look less useless. Joy!

      • Starkiller says:

As others have pointed out, she spends plenty on designers that are neither British nor American, but you’re completely fixated on the American one. How weird. Perhaps she doesn’t just blindly loathe anything with even a tangential relation to America, as you seem to?

  4. lower-case deb says:

this is going to sound mean, but neck down v. chic; neck up…. well. i think the hair ruins it for me.

my neck is having sympathy twinges seeing her flip hair every three syllables.

also, her speech gave me a Severe case of deja vu.

    • LAK says:

The first part of William’s speech + all of Kate’s speech is a repeat of her previous speech and PSA. Word. For. Word. Cut and paste job.

Unsurprising considering she does the same with all her official communications.

      • COSquared says:

Not the first time. In 2012/2013(I forgot when) her speech was a copy-and-paste job straight from EACH’s website. Has she ever even written anything in the past 5 years?

      • Sixer says:

It’s just been on lunch time news, LAK, and even I noticed that!

      • HH says:

Wow… That’s shameful. This undoubtedly lets me know they aren’t trying.

I do hope that the press points this out. That is, if this isn’t common among the royals.

      • LAK says:

HH: it’s not a royals thing. It’s a Kate thing.

      • HH says:

It will never cease to amaze me that they have so many resources and remain so ridiculously ill prepared.

      • lower-case deb says:

thanks @LAK! i thought i was going a bit cuckoo there a bit. truly our Grand Duchess of Thrift and Recycling. no use wasting a good speech, and the printers give you discount for bulk copying a letter, i’m sure.

@Sixer i am happy to report that i have purchased the invictus choir song from Amazon. darling boy made me an account at its uk site, did that funny thigmajig with the computer, and now i have the song on my phone to cry on the bus to 🙂

        btw, saw this on twitter:
        https://twitter.com/britishroyals/status/732163140402614272

the three Muskeroyals were asked to write what made them happy. as expected, Me Me Me is the rule of the day from our Cambridge delegation.

~- What make the royals happy? William: “my children;” Kate: “a walk;” Harry:”making people smile” -~

      • Hazel says:

I thought it sounded familiar. Good gad, that is lazy.
As for what makes them happy–William couldn’t make the tense right: my children ‘makes’ me happy? How about my ‘family’. (Confessions of a comma queen….)

      • Sixer says:

@ Deb – you are now an official choir devotee!

      • Vava says:

That is shameful. The epitome of lazy.

      • Megan says:

You know she is extremely fearful of failing. Perhaps the speech was so well received that last time she gave it, she thought a repeat would be a guaranteed home run. Or maybe she is just a robot and they hit go on the wrong speech.

      • Liberty says:

LAK, any thoughts on body language and the direction of Harry’ s gaze?

I sense “aversion” of some sort. ???Distance maintained etc. It looks off.

      • notasugarhere says:

She does this with letters too, or her staff cannot get her to write anything new so they have to recycle what little they can find for both letters and speeches.

  5. Lex says:

I think she looks cute. She dressed appropriately and is working for a charity, yet I’m sure there will be criticism. Prince Harry though, what a fine way to start a Monday.

    • Naya says:

      +1

    • Nic919 says:

Today’s outfit is fine, but if she is reusing a speech from a few years ago that is very bad. She must have speech writers to help her out so why is this happening ? It shows very little thought was put into the speech as opposed to the outfit, which once again is the problem with her.

  6. HH says:

Something about how and/or where the skirt is sitting on hips is very odd. But I like the bold print. And yes to supporting CALM.

  7. Esmom says:

I like the skirt, although it looks a tad large on her. But the blouse, shoes and hair take it into 80s business wear territory, which is an era best left behind.

    Harry as usual looks fantastic.

  8. Rachel says:

This look is fine, but what on earth was she thinking last night at the Queen’s birthday event? Pairing an extremely expensive Dolce & Gabbana lace dress, updo and dangling diamond earrings with a boxy little red jacket from Zara?

    • Anett says:

Shw wasn’t thinking or somebody hid all the mirror in the palace.

    • PHAKSI says:

That was by far her worst look ever. It deserves its own post it was that bad. Today’s outfit is pretty.

    • Barrett says:

I tried on the Zara coat and did not Get bc it loo

    • Barrett says:

I tried on the Zara coat and did not Get bc it looKED Cheap

    • BearcatLawyer says:

      But…but it had buttons!

    • Nic919 says:

And the crazy grin was there last night non stop. It looked so weird compared to the others who weren’t doing that in every picture.

I also don’t get the point of wearing a 6,000£ dress and then covering up with a cheap coat. If she was going to keep the coat on the whole time then wear one of those may coat dresses she has.

      • Giddy says:

And either clutch your clutch for dear life, or your own hands! She sometimes holds onto either her clutch or her other hand so hard that her knuckles turn white.

    • HappyMom says:

That was her worst look ever. It’s as if she realized it was going to be chilly as they left the house and grabbed the first coat she saw in the hall closet. Did not go AT ALL. I think most of her clothes are just fine (I save my criticism for their workload) and appropriate-but those two items completely clashed. Why would she wear a casual jacket (with those huge buttons) that would look cute with jeans over a formal dress??

    • Dara says:

All she needed was a jaunty red hat and a killer gold necklace and she’d look just like a refugee from the College of Cardinals…. http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2012/11/26/pope-creates-six-new-cardinals-from-outside-europe/

  9. COSquared says:

The only thing I can say is that the skirt has 0 flash potential. Just OK.

    • Vava says:

Agreed. That skirt isn’t going to fly up – so here’s a slow clap for that.

I don’t care for the way she styled it, however. This woman has no imagination. The blouse looks ill-fitting to me, cutting into the under arm area and also squashing her bustline. The print on the skirt overpowers her slight frame, but maybe she thought that would look as if she has more meat on her bones. Her speech was terrible – hair flick, awful accent….ugh.

And that ensemble from the night before – all sorts of hideousness! She’s obviously in a lace rut – and that jacket was awful with the dress. Mostly though, I noticed the fresh botox and manic behavior.

On a brighter note – Harry is fantastic!

  10. Elisa the I. says:

IMO all their outfits look pretty good!

  11. SilkyMalice says:

It doesn’t look like black to me, it looks like navy blue and a lighter blue. Ditto with the guys’ suits. I think they all look very nice.

  12. Jenns says:

    I hate her hair. Hate.

    • SamiHami says:

I think her hair is absolutely beautiful.

    • cindyp says:

Me too, so distracting. Don’t like the outfit either; the skirt is ok but should be paired with a more fitted top. She has no fashion sense at all.

  13. Citresse says:

Bad as usual. I would like to give Kate the benefit of the doubt re- the fact she does this to get more (press) attention to stay relevant, meaning, they’re employing some kind of magic PR strategy but somehow I end up returning to the hard cold truth of it all: she’s nothing but a sheltered, spoiled, lazy-ass with a horrid sense of fashion. Thank God that statistically speaking, I should be dead by the time she’s Queen Consort.

    • Tough Cookie says:

“Thank God that statistically speaking, I should be dead by the time she’s Queen Consort.”

      You and me both, sistah

      • Citresse says:

Well, was it windy? I mean it seems she won’t wear tight pencil skirts on windy days, we know that.
It gets a lot of people talking (attention from the repeated butt flashing) and that’s exactly what the Royals want and need to try and stay relevant. Diana and several others who married into BRF didn’t need to do any of that silliness.
Notice also Kate tends to wear the floaty skirts and dresses when walking up or down air- stairs too whether there’s a crosswind warning issued or not.

  14. Jade says:

Harry looks distant from them. Somebody analyse the body language.

    • Liberty says:

RIGHT?? I just posted that above before I read your comment. What is it?

      • LAK says:

I could write an essay about the distance.

He’s still OK with William, but he is increasingly subdued on engagements involving the trio. These days, that distance seems to be actual physical distance as well as being subdued around the trio.

    • Jib says:

For about a year and a half, I noticed Harry not looking at her, no longer laughing with her, etc. It’s hard to notice because Kate seems to know how to make it look like he’s talking to her or laughing with her: there’s a pic in the DM where he’s laughing, and so is she, but he’s looking beyond her. Harry still does have an closeness with William, which is more noticeable when Kate isn’t around.

Think about it: they had their daughter’s Christening when they knew he wouldn’t be home. So whatever it is that happened had to happen before Charlotte was born. What kind of brother arranges his daughter’s Christening when his only brother is gone? I’ll tell you. Carole. Harry doesn’t like Kate and that was Carole’s revenge, and Will and Kate went along. Because, of course.

It will all come out someday.

      • HappyMom says:

It’s going to be really obvious once he marries and has his own family.

      • Vava says:

Yes Jib, I think you’re right about the dynamics of the trio.

      • Citresse says:

Jib, check out Hello online. You’ll see a photo where Harry appears to be looking up at the heavens thinking; God please get me away from these two. I’m not joking.

    • Canadian Becks says:

I wish Harry finds his special someone…someone in whom he can confide about the various gripes he must have in relation to his lazy brother and sister-in-law.

I know when I need to process something bothersome in my life, I need my sisters.

  15. Lainey says:

God that top is god awful. And I still have no idea what this charity is actually going to be doing. Will they actually be launching new schemes/programmes to combat mental health. IS it just to promote those charities that are a part of it or something else entirely? I have absolutely no idea.

  16. PHAKSI says:

Uhm…Is William wearing lipstick or is it just my rubbish phone? Or was he kissing on someone wearing bright red lipstick?

  17. TeamAwesome says:

I love the print of the skirt. It reads like a navy/deep teal combo to me.

Harry looks like he’s lost some weight, perhaps from his non stop schedule (HONK), but it also looks like Bill found it. Those pants are about two sizes too small.

The way the light bounces off of her nose makes her look like a Dr. Suess character to me. The pairing of the Zara coat, which I love, and the lace dress makes it look like she was inappropriately dressed and someone made her put that coat on but that it was the only thing handy. Do your hi/low, who cares, but those pieces don’t belong near each other.

  18. Olenna says:

Her skirt is too big and Willie looks like a d*ck, literally. I see she’s wearing her Harry Smile.

    • GingerNYC says:

Ugh, I really am so tired of seeing his royal member.

    • Tough Cookie says:

He really does look like a d*ck…or a thumb. I always think he looks like a big thumb. If you drew a face on your thumb it would look just like Willie.

  19. BearcatLawyer says:

That first photo…Prince Ginger Snap looks like he does not want to get too close to the Buckets just in case. How much do you want to bet Harry will do the lion’s share of the work to raise this £1.1 million but Normal Bill and Kate Doolittle will take credit for it? Any odds? Anyone?

    • LAK says:

      I’ll take this bet.

And when he pulls off as good a result as Invictus, WK will be given all the credit.

      • BearcatLawyer says:

        You’re likely right, LAK.

As an aside, since I am Canadian and American (and British through my mother), I have decided to volunteer at next year’s Invictus Games. God willing I will get to meet my precious King Harry!

    • Melly says:

I don’t even think that’s worth betting on, it’s just so obvious. Harry is the only one of the young royals that does any heavy lifting. He looks so delicious here. I just want to throw him on my bed and do bad things with him. Naughty ginger snap!

      • BearcatLawyer says:

I have never been terribly attracted to redheads, but King Harry is changing my mind. He does seem like a very fun man to do extremely naughty things to/with!

      • msthang says:

Melly, ah Melly, he is so adorable, let’s just hope he is wonderful to his staff, it is o.k. and fine to appear to care on the surface and then go home and kick the dog, let’s hope he is a sweet joe all around!!!!!

      • Melly says:

        @msthang
If he was terrible to his staff and/or terrible privately, i think it would have been leaked by now. William & Kate love to throw Harry under the bus to make themselves look better. With all the talk of their royal laziness lately, Harry acting terrible would have been used as a press distraction.

Long Live King Harry, His Royal Ginger Snap!!!!

  20. Krishan says:

Her torso looks overly long with that top and skirt. And the top is just hanging on her shoulders, esp. the billowy sleeves, because she’s become too skinny to fill out and carry an outfit like this. The top and the skirt look too big for her frame.

She looks gaunt in that very last pic. The skirt looks so flat because she’s way too thin.

Harry, though…so hot right now. 😁

    • HyacinthBucket says:

She has seriously short legs. Take away the heels and she’ll have none to speak of. Insofar this is a bad outfit for her.

    • msthang says:

Krishan, it just shows off her incredibly long torso, versus the illusion of wearing waist bands up under her chest, in other words this is her real physique!!!!

  21. Barrett says:

Harry has a way of looking more casual. Like Will just look so ironed and buttoned up!

It’s like Harry is real and like f it I’m gonna throw my nephew Harry around a bit before the press show up and get all rumpled.

    • Esmom says:

Agreed. Will seems naturally stuffy and uptight and Harry is just seemingly more comfortable in his skin.

  22. elizabethswann says:

Kate pulls it off, once again. Not my favourite look of hers.

  23. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

She looks fine and appropriate. I don’t like the skirt, but that’s just a matter of taste. Nothing wrong with it except it doesn’t fit well.

  24. The Original Mia says:

I like the skirt. Hate the blouse. Hate the hair. Hate the fact she and William couldn’t be arsed to write an original speech for this event. Jesus! They’ve had a month to get something together, and the only thing we’re sure Kate did was Botox, get her hair done and buy another ridiculously expensive lace doily to wear.

  25. Tallia says:

I don’t mind when she wears affordable threads. I think it sends a good message to the people – “we are not schilling out for designer duds during a time when the economy is tough and people are struggling”. I do wish English designers would give her free duds to wear and she would wear them to promote the English designers, with the duds then auctioned off for one of her charities. Win – Win.

    • Tough Cookie says:

LOL….yes her thriftiness…..I’d buy that if not for the extra kitchens, tennis court relocations, helicopter rides….should I go on?

      • Tallia says:

Lawd, no! LOL. I did not to mean to imply she was thrifty. I was just saying at least her garb isn’t shoving the fact that they are wealthy down the throats of the people.

  26. Megan says:

Did she buy that D&G lace dress in every color? Ugh.

  27. Lizzy says:

Maybe Kate wanted an American designer- since Harry is just back from the US and maybe also for the FLOTUS imitation as you wrote.

What’s up with William’s basic sense of English https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CikpciAWEAASHuF.jpg ??!! More than God save the Queen – god save the Queen’s english!

Love what Harry wrote- making people smile makes him happy 🙂

    • lower-case deb says:

i also have a question, being ignorant non native speaker that i am:
is it better “a walk makes me happy” or “going for / taking a walk makes me happy” or “walking makes me happy” or all three are correct?
the first one sounds rather strange… but maybe i’m mistaken (i know “walk” is both noun and verb)

      • ClaireB says:

They’re all fine. The last two are a little more natural, but the first one is not incorrect.

      • Lizzy says:

lower-case deb: All are fine though “going for/taking a walk” is more natural/appropriate in this instance because if Kate said “A walk makes me happy”…it doesn’t specify whose walk…it may mean anyone’s walk makes her happy 😛

And seriously William’s English is pathetic..my children “makes” me happy??!!

      • Sixer says:

Deb – I agree with the others that all three are fine. If somebody asked me personally what made me happy and I was going to give that answer, I would say, “going for a walk”.

      • lower-case deb says:

        @ClaireB, Lizzy and Sixer
        thanks so much!

my ESL teacher from WAYYYY back when drilled into us that we should never use “a walk” like that. he’s always going on about “a walk is when you talk about a gait! you’re always going on a walk to somewhere”

ah how we miss him. he was fun in class though.

  28. Magnoliarose says:

The skirt would have looked better as a sleeveless dress with the blouse as more of a spring jacket with her hair in s ponytail or off her face. It’s ok but no more than that. As usual.

    • Vava says:

I agree with you. The print doesn’t work, it’s out of proportion as a skirt on Kate. I could see others rocking this skirt though, with either a sweater on top, or a coordinating print top (stripe, polka dot, etc.), and some great shoes or block heeled lace up sandals. I think it’s wearing Kate, not the other way around. A shift dress would have worked with this fabric, with a jacket over it, and some hip shoes. Hair in a pony tail. That would have great!

  29. TyrantDestroyed says:

Will William wear an appropriated kind of underwear ever?? My eyes…

    • GingerNYC says:

THIS! As I commented up thread, so tired of seeing his royal member!!

      • lower-case deb says:

he looks like one of those before-after models in ads targeted to high earners.
        before rogaine, and after levitra.

    • cindyp says:

He needs to wear trousers & not those awful, I don’t know what to call them, skinny pants. Worked with a guy who transferred from the UK & he always wore that type of pant with a tucked in shirt, blazer & wing tip shoes. We all laughed at him behind his back.

I wouldn’t normally comment again but Kate must be advising Wills on his wardrobe, gone are the traditional well cut chinos. I think she is trying to dress him high street unfortunately those beige trousers which look a bit cheap are too tight.

I just blogged onto D.O.D. and I think Chopper is in denial he has put on a few pounds!!!!

Kate and William bore me. Nothing there to draw me in, very lack luster. And while teaming up with Harry may have been seen as trying to bring them in a more positive light, I think it does more damage. It sheds the light on how different they really are.

I watched the video of Harry boxing playfully. His smile is so genuine. He has that “it” factor that encompasses empathy and genuine interest in others. He is his mother’s son. So sad that Will doesn’t have it. Charles at least maybe cold but he isn’t work shy or despises his birthright.

I hope I see the this archaic institution dissolved in my lifetime. Wills and Kate don’t deserve to have a platform that can touch so many when they do so little withit.

I agree 100% with everything you said. The only way I could be excited about the monarchy continuing is if Harry becomes king. He’s so delightful, hard working, and fine as hell!

  31. ClaireB says:

That blouse is horribly 80s. And the skirt looks like blocks falling apart. I know this is nitpicky (that’s what we’re here for, right?), but I don’t think it’s the right print to wear for your mental health charity. It’s just too chaotic.

That red jacket over the lace dress was so dumb that I don’t have anything else to say about it.

No comment about ‘Heads Together’?? English isnt my first language, so it sound strange to me…
People souldnt complaint about the speeches. Recycling garbage is very popular in my country 😀

  33. Starlight says:

I love the colour skirt and she looks great – she has quite a fondness for Harry when she looks at him I suppose the new sitcom The Windsors on channel 4 now on you tube will be picking up on that next.

  34. Tris says:

Harry has such a sexy walk. He looks like a fancy cowboy.

  35. MyLittlePony says:

A good look for Kate! Totally off-topic, but I had absolutely no idea how good looking Prince Edward was when he was younger.

    • msthang says:

MyLittlePony, he was a good looking young man in his youth, but then that bald thing caught up with him!!

      • MyLittlePony says:

Those Windsor genes… They hit him so hard! But he was terribly good-looking, a spitting image of young Philip really.

  36. Joannie says:

I think she’s beautiful and I like that her fringe is growing out. Good for them for taking on mental health issues.

  37. Andrea says:

The boring hair ruins it for me. It is sooo dated!

  38. Cerys says:

I thought this outfit was hideous. The skirt and blouse seemed to emphasise her long torso and it looked too big for her. It showed again how emaciated she has become. As usual at a charity event everything is focused on her clothes. If she really wants to publicise a charity then perhaps re-wearing a previous outfit might help.
As for the white dress and red jacket from last night, the least said about them the better. she seemed to be in prime position beside Phillip so that she was in most of the photos. Charles and Camilla were away to the side so were hardly seen as was William. Instead we had to see her maniacal grins. Poor Phillip, as if sitting through the show wasn’t bad enough.

    • Vava says:

LOL on the ensemble from last night. Truly awful.

The pattern of the skirt draws the attention, rather than her face. In my opinion, big bold prints don’t work very well for her, but I guess at least she’s trying to branch out a little. Maybe someday she’ll realize that she needs some help putting things together because clearly she and Tash don’t have “it”.

  39. India says:

God, her adam’s apple is HUGE. She looks transgender.

    • Andrea says:

She is 20 lbs underweight that’s why it is prominent. Look at pictures from 2008 and earlier and you will see a difference.

  40. Starlight says:

The trouble is many people put a sticking plaster over things and feel like they can’t seek help for issues such as post natal depression, or may not even know they have it,” said Kate.
I have heard that sticking plaster anology somewhere before?
Abbey Clancey looked effortless in the mailonline article

  41. Betti says:

Either she’s back on the ‘tox or the press have started photoshopping her again.

  42. KiddVicious says:

You can tell the difference in the personalities by their walk. Harry swaggers while William looks like he’s trying to hold on to that stick he has wedged up there.

I like Kate’s outfit. The skirt does look odd hanging there, but it has good movement when she’s walking.

  43. Harry Lime says:

Kate must be getting fashion inspiration from Women’s Wear Daily circa 1975.

  44. MyLittlePony says:

All in all, I think this was a good look for Kate. She looks more “age and occasion appropriate”, the hair is mostly off the face, and the skirt does not fly up and is longer than usual. The look may be a bit matronly, but hopefully she will hit the right balance at some point. Also, the cause is really important, and it is very good of her to draw attention to PND. She needs to improve a lot, but this is a step forward.

I couldnt care less what lazy Duchess wears … she still cannot speak properly after all these years her fake accent is so put on …her few lines she spoke was totally useless at heads together..
wish Dear Harry had a nice girlfriend he outshines both of them… he is caring the lazy duo are so fake
