Honestly, this year’s Cannes Film Festival has been lacking in some serious glamour and some serious star wattage. Yes, Julia Roberts came out and yes, Kristen Stewart was the It Girl of the festival. But high-wattage moments were few and far between. So I had high hopes for this year’s Cannes amfAR gala, but the turnout was severely muted. Uma Thurman was quite literally one of the few “bright spots” at amfAR. Uma chose this hot pink Schiaparelli Couture gown which… looks amazing. It’s a great dress and she looks wonderful.
Melissa George also wore Schiaparelli Couture. This reminds me of… like, Prada circa 2003? The layered fabric also adds weight to her midsection in a really unflattering way.
Irina Shayk in Miu Miu. This is fine. It fits, it’s flirty, it’s pretty and it’s uncontroversial. I’m sure lots of women would love to own this dress. The only thing I have to ask is… are those bejeweled candy canes on the bodice?!
Helen Mirren wore this rather magical Temperley London gown. It’s such a joy to see her on the red carpet, and I always love to see what she’s chosen. This one is a little bit matronly, but the sheer parts help make it look somewhat hip.
Here’s doucheface Adrien Brody and his girlfriend Lara Lieto. Lara wore a surprisingly pretty Zuhair Murad gown in mint green. She still looks so, so young though.

It really only looks good on the Pepto Bismol bottle. If it had been two shades darker, lighter or a different color altogether…..
I love tan blondes in pepto pink! I always get a ton of compliments when I wear that color.

I’m a dark olive-skinned brunette and I really like that hot pink color on myself. But yeah, it looks great on blondes too.
I think the dress is pretty, and she looks good, but at first glance I thought she was pregnant! I think it makes her look thick around the middle. Helen almost always looks great; I just think she would benefit from a better bra in this gown. Her girls need a hike IMO.
Hate to say it, but Douchebag/face’s gf looks the best. That gown is gorgeous.

Irina’s dress makes me feel a little nauseous. It’s just so bad, like something I would see on a mannequin in the window of an outdated women’s dress shop in a small backwater town.
Love it actually, even the cutesy little sparkleheart on the shoulder. I think her makeup and the swept-back updo stop the colour being too overwhelming. Thumbs up.

First thought that came to mind. ‘I didn’t know Adrian had a daughter’. Wow she looks far too young for him.
Maybe that’s why he was so quick to defend Woody Allen.
Do we know how old she is? Because they’ve been dating for years, she must have been REALLY young when they met.
I don’t know how old she is, but I do know that she needs to cut her damn hair. It’s a stringy mess. How can she think this looks nicE? You need really thick hair to pull off wearing it this long…fine, straight hair just doesn’t work (I’m saying this as someone with stringy, fine hair).

That pink and that weird bling…I feel like the dress is picked for My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. Only thing missing is a giant skirt and huge tiara.
Uma no longer looks like Uma. What has she done to her face? She used to stand out in a great way because of her quirky beauty. Now she looks like an action figure doll of herself after Tarantino got a hold of it. The Bride, Glam version or something.
I was kind of wondering this too only because from the thumbmail I didn’t recognize her. What has Uma been up to career wise? I really like her and want to know what she’s been doing.

I, as a rule, don’t like pink, but this shade and the design of the dress are wonderful on Uma. The tucks on the top of the dress are interesting.
