Is Jenny Slate pregnant with Chris Evans’ baby, or does she just have the flu?

wenn23519401

We learned a few weeks back that Jenny Slate and Chris Evans are a thing now, regardless of the fact that Jenny only recently announced her split from her husband of four years. Chris and Jenny met last year while they worked on the film Gifted in Georgia. Were there some sticky Georgia hookups? Perhaps. I still maintain that Chris likely “homewrecked” Jenny’s marriage, and it’s weird to me that he’s not getting much criticism for that. Double standards when it comes to dudes being “homewreckers,” or perhaps this is just a Captain America-exception only. Anyway, Page Six’s headline made me jump out of my skin this morning: “Is Jenny Slate having Chris Evans’ baby?” Page Six’s evidence is that Slate was tweeting about being sick:

Morning sickness or stomach flu? We’ll know soon enough, won’t we? Do you think Chris Evans is the kind of guy who would accidentally knock up a still-married woman after carrying on an alleged months-long affair? Hm…

Also, I’ve been sick like that before (waking up sweaty and pukey) and it was the Norovirus. That was literally the sickest I’ve ever felt in my life and I thought I was going to die. But the Norovirus doesn’t pass in a day. You feel that sweaty, barfy and poopy for five days or more.

This pairing is just so weird to me.

    • Evie says:

Same here! I’m such a fan of hers and if Chris is the hot mess that he is rumored to be, I don’t understand why she would be into that. I can’t really see it lasting.

      • Bey says:

“I don’t understand why she would be into that.”
take a good look at him and think about what you wrote. if you dont change your opinion look at the picture of her looking at him.
i doubt she was thinking with her brain.

      • Evie says:

lol! I mean I understand he is smoking hot, but not hot enough to make me want to be looked at as a homewrecker, deal with his ego, partying and (possible) cheating.

      • Livvers says:

        @Evie don’t forget emotional neediness

      • Dingding says:

        $$$

    • Tifygodess24 says:

Right?! I just see each of them with someone completely different.

  2. Patricia says:

Isn’t she the one responsible for her own infidelity? I don’t get blaming the other party, in any infidelity situation whether it’s a man or woman cheating on a spouse.

    • Evie says:

I agree. He shouldn’t have persisted with someone who was in a committed relationship; but she, the person in the committed relationship, should not have continued on with him.

But you have to admit, that women do get harder with the whole “homewrecker” label than men do.

    • Zuzus girl says:

And let us not forget that we don’t even know that there was any infidelity. It’s pure speculation at this point.

      • als says:

You will never have proof or confirmation for the infidelity.
However, if you use math and common sense you get to the conclusion that it was a case of infidelity.
If you give up on common sense, you will get a sappy story about how they are soul mates and they are both saints.
Even though common sense is loathed nowadays, some of us still have it.

      • Bey says:

welcome to the world of gossip.

    • ladyE says:

Exactly. I don’t understand why women or men want to carry on with married people, but the responsibility ultimately comes down to the one married/in a relationship.

    • V4Real says:

I’m on board with you guys. The side piece (men included) always receives most of the blame but what about the man/woman who is married or in a serious relationship? They are the ones who are cheating, it’s not like the third party in this relationship put a gun to their head and made that person cheat with them.

And I don’t agree that Chris has not been receiving any blame because he has, even on this sties. But maybe most peplum are just waiting to see if they are actually together or not.

It does seem as if she is trolling. I think she is loving the attention she is getting about her dating Chris (true or not) and she is pouring it on thick. Some people didn’t even know who she was before her name was coupled with Evans.

  3. T.Fanty says:

If she isn’t knocked up, that’s some hardcore trolling.

Also, Evans is SO hot, but evidently such a sleaze and image control freak, that I kind of imagine him to be the type to get a vasectomy, just so as not to impede his party lifestyle.

    • Leo says:

I’d say it’s trolling of the highest order since she just tweeted about getting her period in sync with the female cast of her new movie.

      • als says:

Is this the world that we live in? People tweet about getting their period in syn?

      • InvaderTak says:

Isn’t she the one that ran a marathon without a pad and made some kind of feminist statement about it?

    • Abbess Tansy says:

Yes I think the troll is strong with this one. Probably to get back at the Evans fans who supposedly left nasty comments on her Instagram. Which may backfire on her in the end.
Also, wasn’t Cap’n Crunch supposed to be single according to some recent interviews? So messy.

    • Berries says:

Jenny IS a troll and ornery AF lol, have you seen some of the crap his stans have been piling on her on SM? I’d be stoking the flames for giggles if I were her too!

  4. als says:

God, social media is the worst.
I don’t imagine ever living with someone that puts his emotions and every barf on twitter or Instagram or whatever. It’s so unappealing. Maybe she is pregnant, maybe not, but she’s definitely trolling. She knows what’s going on.

People believed Evans’ anxiety rants, now we see he had no anxiety in hooking up with a married woman. He obviously can get away with murder at this point. I skipped Civil War and am waiting for Black Panther. If Marvel keeps him on, they are idiots.

    • Trixie says:

Civil War is fantastic. If you want Black Panther, he’s really good in Civil War. It’s worth seeing just for him if that’s which character you’re waiting for.

    • Tammy says:

Civil War was fantastic and what is your issue with Chris Evans exactly? The rumors of him hooking up with Jenny Slate are rumors, for starters, and she’s just as responsible as he is if they did hook up while she was married. She’s actually more responsible.

      • Kitten says:

Yeah I’m confused about the correlation that is being drawn between anxiety and infidelity–the two have nothing to do with each other.

    • EOA says:

“People believed Evans’ anxiety rants, now we see he had no anxiety in hooking up with a married woman.”

You clearly have no understanding whatsoever of what anxiety actually is. Newsflash: people with anxiety can make poor personal choices. Their poor personal choices is not somehow evidence that said anxiety is just “made up.”

  5. embertine says:

While I have no real interest in whether they’re really together or not, let alone expecting a baby, that pic of her eyeing his abs will never not make me smile. Me too, Jenny, me too.

  6. Wiffie says:

I wanted to thank you commenters who suggested Anna Faris’s podcast on the last article on these two! I’ve binge-listened to every episode and love it!

    • JKL says:

I thought the Ellen Page one was very endearing.

    • MC2 says:

Ummm- I think you just planned a huge chunk of my Monday for me.

    • Sigh... says:

The one w/ Regina Hall (Faris’ Scary Movie co-star) was good, too.

And I read on-line somewhere that on the recent one with Chelsea Handler (of whom I am not a fan), Handler gushes about Evans and Faris discloses that she, too, was married when she met her co-star/future husband, Chris Pratt, on-set of their movie. She went home, filed for divorce, and the rest is manic pixie dream dust, sacchrine-sweet history…

      Hmmm…

      • embertine says:

To be fair to Anna Faris, she has never tried to hide that she was married when she met Chris Pratt.

      • Sigh... says:

        @ Embertine –

I am not trying to accuse of her ever hiding the fact. I used “disclose” for her bringing it up again in relation with recent *rumored* events and the subsequent hotbed discussions (her friends *possibly* having the same start to their GREATEST LOVE STORY OF OUR TIME, and her kinda co-signing, infidelity and all).

        “Reiterated,” maybe?

  7. Meg says:

I sort of love the idea of them as a couple. She’s great, and he seems ok.

    • Pix says:

I agree with you. There is something so intriguing about these two. I imagine this: She is the dorky girl who never dated in HS. He’s the hot guy who only noticed her after she took off her glasses. She couldn’t believe he was interested in her as anything other than a co-star. Little did she know that he made a bet with a buddy that he could home wreck her marriage. However, when they spent time together the chemistry was undeniable. etc. whatever, she’s all that.

      • Sylvia says:

LOL OMG. It’s too early for tears, dammit! But this made me laugh so hard, thank you 😀

      • Sigh... says:

She took off her glasses, shook her luxurious mane free from her ponytail, coyly smiled, and then…

Ahhh, the cinematic masterpiece that is “Not Another Teen Movie.”

      • Mindless says:

Chris Evans wasn’t the uber popular dude in HS that his adult persona suggests. He was a good guy whose friends from that time are all grown up and engineers and what have you. He is still tight with his home crew to this day.

      • Erinn says:

I’ve watched that movie so many times, and I’m not at all ashamed. It was perfect late 90’s teen movie fodder.

  8. Navi says:

Oh for God’s SAKE, it hasn’t even been confirmed they’re together except by some sketchy “source” that allegedly saw them at dinner and now she’s knocked up based on a a tweet?? I get so sick of how every time a woman gets sick she’s suddenly pregnant. Must be a slow news week if people are reaching THIS far. This seriously reads to me like every other pairing we’ve seen from him the past couple years, and there’s even less to go on here than usual when you think about it. . . It’s so bizarre

    • Erinn says:

Right? I’d have had a a few litters of kids by now if it depended on me being sick. Between migraines and a not-so-great immune system, I’m quite happy I don’t have a constant speculation going on over my womb.

    • The Original Mia says:

      +1

  9. HeyThere! says:

I like how a young woman can’t even barf without ‘OMG she’s totally preggers!!!’ Ugh. People barf for a zillion other reasons than pregnancy!
I didn’t have morning sickness for one second with my baby. Didn’t puke once the entire pregnancy.

    • swak says:

Agree, I didn’t have morning sickness either. The only time I felt like puking (never did) is when my mom was hard boiling eggs for a salad and for some reason that particular day, the smell got to me. And morning sickness doesn’t usually go away in a day either.

    • V4Real says:

“I like how a young woman can’t even barf without ‘OMG she’s totally preggers!!!’ Ugh. People barf for a zillion other reasons than pregnancy!’

You’re right but a lot of people don’t take to social media talking about it and trying to troll people. Read the tweet again.

“I woke up in the middle of the night all sweaty& then barfed for no reason. In conclusion: I’m 7?”

      • KhalDraghoe says:

I dont think she’s pregnant, but she’s def been on a trolling warpath all weekend. Sounds pretty pressed for someone who thinks she won the hot guy lottery to the point that she tossed her vows aside for a piece.

      • M says:

God, she’s starting to look like a teenager. I thought she was a grown woman and feminist. She begins to look like his ex-girlfriends who are desperate for attention.

  10. KhalDraghoe says:

Yesterday, she tweeted a Buzzfeed writer who apparently wrote some article about how everyone should fall in love in with Jenny and mentioned her dating Chris. For me, that’s just more confirmation. Their friends are even liking things mentioning them being together. They’re probably gonna lay low so we won’t be getting full-on make out pictures. That’s about as much confirmation of them being together as we’re gonna get.

What I am enjoying is the bending over backwards of people trying to make it sound plausible that they didn’t cheat, and also the justification of them cheating. It’s okay or not possible even though it looks HIGHLY likely if the guy is hot seems to be general consensus.

    • M says:

This for me is confirmation that she is desperate for attention like any other celebrity. She’s enjoying the attention.

      • KhalDraghoe says:

        Oh she definitely is.

      • M says:

When I read articles about “everything you need to know about the new girlfriend of Chris” is that the PR machine working. Now we need to fall in love with her? Celebrities are so obvious! It’s true that they are from the same PR agency?

edit: I looked on google, they are from the same PR agency!

      • KhalDraghoe says:

@ M Oh for sure, this has PR damage control all over it. Everything is designed so we like her, love how they were connected from the beginning, so we can find them to be an adorable couple instead of, ya know? A couple of idiots caught having a seedy affair. LOL

And of course she is trolling, but it’s funny how quickly this story is spreading. I bet they STILL won’t address it. The longer this story burns on, the messier it looks anyway. It’s giving me life.

  11. Zapp Brannigan says:

Meh she is tweet trolling and he is getting a “home wrecker” pass because he is a man, and if society has thought us anything it is that men are not responsible for the behavior of their down low parts,

Man cheats with married woman = married womans fault
Single woman cheats with married man = womans fault (both the single woman and the wife, because if the wife was taking care of business at home he would not need to go elsewhere)
Kitchen taps leaking and needs a new washer = womans fault
North Continental Drift = womans fault

(Yes I am really this annoyed today)

    • burnsie says:

+1. Where is the lie though? All accurate

    • KhalDraghoe says:

      IA with all of this.

    • Sylvia says:

Honestly, I think they’re both getting passes. I think he is getting a pass because he’s the “hot guy” who hooked up with the homely girl, not just because he’s a guy, and she is getting a pass for being that homely girl. Because this whole situation is sketchy af, but it feels like people are overlooking that to gush about them, her especially. so I don’t know about that argument in this case.

Also, it’s: person cheats with married person = married person’s fault, regardless of gender.

      • Bey says:

you have a very good point, Handsome men are excused by women all the time and she really gets a pass because people think its great that someone who is in no way in his league gets with him. this typical “you go girl” when a woman “upgrades” from her husband to a hot guy.
thats also why people were so upset with Kristen Stewart because of the sex symbol status of Pattinson. who really cared about Kristen cheating on her first boyfriend?

looks influence how people perceive actions, a lot and most people dont want to admit that. if she was hotter and/or he was uglier the stories and comments would be negative

      • embertine says:

C’mon, is he really that much hotter than her? I mean yes, I would do terrible things to that boy* but she’s a very pretty woman. He looks pretty dorky/ordinary in a lot of photos too. I think it’s just that she doesn’t fit the mould of the nosejob/boobjob/straight shiny extensions Hollywood woman that we’re all used to seeing.

*with his clearly stated consent, natch

  12. NL says:

    Pre-surgery Jennifer Grey. Big time.

  13. Samtha says:

If Jenny were a higher-profile married famous woman, he’d probably be getting more shit. Most people don’t even know who she is. And do many people care? I’m not saying that in a bitchy way; just pointing out that she’s not exactly someone with a hardcore fan base.

Then again, men never get the same kind of heat as the women, whether they’re the cheater or the “homewrecker.” Just look at Russell Crowe and Meg Ryan. That pretty much killed her career.

    • KhalDraghoe says:

IAWTC. She barely has fans to disappoint, but also, a lot of fangirls are even co-signing this because she’s not a Victoria’s Secret model. It’s kind of f***ed up, but I’ve seen so many of his fans act like Jenny is a hero bc she “upgraded” and she’s a “regular girl,” proving Chris isn’t shallow.

      • Samtha says:

I’ve seen that too! The “she’s not the Minka Kelly type” comments.

      • Bey says:

as i wrote above: looks influence who people perceive actions. thats also why good looking people get lower jail sentences.

      • KhalDraghoe says:

@ Bey You are right. It’s absolutely been proven that attractiveness and unattractiveness counts for perception. It counts when looking for jobs, jail sentences, and little celebrity stories like this one.

  14. Jh says:

What a dumb thing to tweet. So obvious.

  15. Felice. says:

Did she use the test “Womb there it is”?

  16. SM says:

From a few interviews I saw of Chris he is incapable of pretending, lying or scheeming. Deffenitely not the fuy to cheet with on tour husband. But that is my impression. So i say this whole story is BS. However I think it is a weird double standard when the more famous part of the relationship is getting attacked when the cheating happens. With Kristen and whatever his name Huntsman director it was Kristen, with this post it os implied that it is supposed to be Chris just because he is in Marvel superhero when if fact it always should be the married one.

    • KhalDraghoe says:

“Incapable of pretending…” He is an actor. His job is literally pretending. Oop, unless you were dragging his acting skills. Then ayyyyyy. LOL

    • Sylvia says:

      @Khaldragoe lmao!

From a few interviews I’ve seen of Chris, he is an expert bullshitter. He’s got that buttery smooth PR thing down. And as Khaldraghoe said, he is an actor as well. And he is human. He’s more than capable of lying and pretending, and I bet is quite skilled at it! But I agree with the latter part, it is always the married person’s fault if they cheat.

    • embertine says:

RDJ recently called Evans out for playing the “Aw shucks, I’m just a good ol’ momma’s boy from Baaaahstan” routine. Personally I think it’s fine if an actor is savvy about their media profile – they have to keep some part of their life private just to stay sane. When they’re doing interviews or on the red carpet, they are WORKING, and as Khal points out, their job is literally pretending to be other people.

Plus this article (for example) is proof that the public obsesses over every detail of a celebrity’s private life, so, you know…

    • M says:

Chris Evans built the image that he is Steve Rogers, even some Marvel fans think he is the real Captain America. Last year when he was seen with Lucy Pinder (google it), PR started the rumors with Lily Collins. When he said Black Widow was a slut, he came with the video of his nephew to everyone forget what he said. He’s very concerned about his image.

  17. Cure says:

I know she tweeted about her getting her period, but if she was really pregnant and puking in NY while Chris is partying in Vegas, thats makes him look like a complete Jerk/ Meatball with extra sauce/ douchebag. I think her SM trolling is only going to hurt them both. Her trolling is Minka level now.

    • KhalDraghoe says:

Her trolling is beyond Minka level. Minka never made headlines and certainly never got Chris into a pregnancy rumor with her lowkey trolling. Jenny wins there. LOL

      • M says:

There are other ways to be trolling with his fans. She knew this would make the headlines, she did it thinking about it. She’s worse than Minka.

  18. Guest says:

Who the eff tweets about something like this? Embarassing.

  19. One2 says:

I really don’t think she knows what shes getting herself into by trolling his fans. His own mother stopped using Social media beacuse of the crazy stuff his fangirls would tweet to her.

  20. Lyla says:

It’s funny, right after news came out about them, I had a dream that she was pregnant, and that’s why news of them being a couple came out so soon after her split with her husband.

    • Izzy says:

That wasn’t so much predictive as it is a reflection of so much of the ongoing speculation. But I think it’ll be hilarious if that ends up being the case. Apparently she’s a total pothead, and he certainly likes his drink, and if you believe the (many) accounts around online, he’s kind of a cokehead too. Not exactly ready for parenting. Nothing against pot, but doubt you can be high all the time and pregnant/taking care of a newborn. I don’t know that it would work so well.

      • Wood Dragon says:

Wow. What could go wrong with that sort of substance fondness those two are reported to have? How long before someone ends up on the news in a mugshot and TMZ hollering all over the internet about it? That would really hurt Evans’ career with Marvel and I think he knows that (and it would be shocking if he didn’t really calculate that into his long term career viability). If he has any sense, he’ll get his demons caged before they get the better of him.

  21. Izzy says:

You know, I was so hot for Dat Cap Ass for so long, but the more he reveals of his personality, the colder I get. The neurotic mess thing is a complete turn-off, and I don’t know why any grown, mature woman would want that unless they were being paid as a therapist and not in a relationship with the guy. And sorry, I know that a married cheater takes the lion’s share of the blame, and that’s the way it should be, but I always feel like someone who takes up with a partner who is married carries some of that stank too. It says something about a person’s character, that they would be willing to be with someone who so casually breaks their vows. At least, it does to me. And finally, this Saturday will mark my 43rd year on this planet, each one of which I have managed to go without contracting an STD. So no, I would not touch Dat Cap Ass, or any other part of him, with a 10-foot pole, because EW. IJS

    • Evie says:

      I cosign all of this!

    • Fire Rabbit says:

@Izzy- THIS!! Everything you said. Her taking it up with his fans is desperately adolescent and low class. Well. They both have behaved low classy lol. But they live in a Hollywood Bubble and for gawd knows what reason they decided to announce this and believed every one would fall in love with them and not figure things out. What idiots. I knew he was, never bought the Marvel PR, but I’ll admit to having higher expectations of her. It’s very embarrassing that theyre from the Boston area.

  22. Toxine says:

Hmmm… This was totally predictable… But it seems like trolling… She later tweeted about getting her period in sync with her Obvious Child co-stars.

I really want them to be a thing and see how crazy this can get… with or without trolling.
This is gonna be so entertaining!

(P.S.: Sorry if my English isn’t good enough… I’m not a native speaker.)

  23. Margo S. says:

I feel like he isn’t getting flack for being a homewreaker because of his looks. Her ex was NOT an attractive man. And Chris evans is crazy good looking. Also I noticed that jenny didn’t look nearly as happy and smitten with her ex as she does with Chris.

    • Izzy says:

Her ex is actually pretty good looking in his own right, he’s just not Captain America. And that smitten look is what most people call the “honeymoon phase” when everything is new and shiny and moonbeams and roses.

  24. TyrantDestroyed says:

I didn’t know who she was, had to Google her and even though, her name and face is not familiar to me. So congrats to both if she’s pregnant.

  25. April says:

I think she trolling and to me I think it’s a lie and it’s been said Chris wants a family and settle down but if she ain’t that’s gonna break his heart and her tweet bout getting sick and puking noone wants to see that and I don’t think in my opinion Chris will rush into that quick he’s dated girls off and on and they never got pregnant so I think this is BS and she trolling
