It’s good for me. My husband and kid love this movie. They were bonkers when it came out and thought I would be too. I liked it, but not as much as them. I was not excited for a sequel because IDRIS WAS THAT MOVIE. I would love a piece of that Grilled Cheese Gravitas he was delivering. It was delicious.

Anyways, they lost me without Idris, but if they are bringing the Boyega, I’ll go see PR2 with the gang. Heh.

Idris is yummy. They should bring him back from the dead.

    • Erinn says:

lol – I seriously almost watched it JUST for Charlie Day. I have such a ridiculous crush on that man.

      • amilu says:

Charlie Day was SO great in it. I love Idris, but he wasn’t the movie for me.

Geez Alicia and Michael look so happy together. She was just in Rio having a grand time, he has been mostly hidden in Australia for 2 months, she arrives and they go bowling? I can’t wait to see how they avoid talking about each other in the next couple months.

I believe John’s production company is also co-producing the film!

    • Moxie Remon says:

He’s so young and already has a production company? I feel unproductive.

      • FF says:

Boyega’s Star Wars costar Daisy Ridley has a production company too. I think she was producing a film about a young girl hawker? So I guess the productiveness is catching?

Hope he does some smaller budget films though. PR2 having a larger budget probably presents a greater risk?

      • Spiderpig says:

Pretty much the second you start making money or really doing anything your people recommend a production company (even if it’s just for tax purposes, though that’s not the case here). I have one and I’m very lowly and not at all famous.

Pacific Rim was a fun movie and I know a lot of guys who adore it, but… sequel? That film striked me as a good stand-alone cult classic, no more.

I just don’t understand why Hollywood does sequels, when they could just write a similar, separate story.

  5. RedOnTheHead says:

Gee, wonder why Nick won’t $ign the divorce paper$

  6. Tiffany says:

I enjoyed Pacific Rim. I enjoy John Boyega. I am okay with this.

  7. FF says:

I dunno why they didn’t make a prequel and have Boyega play young-Idris I would have watched that! But is it a good idea?

Well, I’m actually paying attention to the sequel now, as opposed to going out of my way to avoid it – so good move so far.

Why don’t they throw in some kind of temporal anomaly and then Stacker can come back? Now that would be an awesome twist!

  8. lucy2 says:

John Boyega should be in everything.
Matt Bomer looks good in anything.

  9. Mia4s says:

Oh dear. John seems so lovely but…oh dear. The first one didn’t do very well (just barely well enough). Maybe there’s a chance for growth…but current sequels aren’t bearing that out.

Favourite fake tag line I heard yesterday: “We’re uncancelling the apocalypse!…So we can cancel it again!” 😬

  10. teacakes says:

welp, Pacific Rim is a GREAT movie to watch…… but only if you’re drunk.

If anyone really wants to watch John save the world from angry aliens, just watch Attack The Block instead.

If Vikander and Fassbender are in showmance or pr relationship it’s fail, because I like both of them and I kind forgot they were a couple. They really don’t get pap. Anyway I wonder if their promotion is gonna be awkward or they’ll be fine.

    • OriginallyBlue says:

She got a little bit of attention in Brazil, but no pap pictures of him until she came to Australia. I think they will be professional about their movie and talk about the story, the process of making it, and not their relationship, whatever it is.

      • Kiki says:

They deserve each other. After all the insanity of Taylor Swift break ups and the mess of marriage of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Let’s look back at the RARE picture of these cute cuddly love birds of Michael Fassbender and his Twinkle toes girlfriend Alicia Vikander. Aww aren’t they the sweetest. URGH

  12. Miss M says:

It’s a great idea for him and for us!

  13. Dragonlady Sakura says:

I will say it…Dolly Parton is a natural treasure. I love her. 😊

  14. Almond says:

I love the director (G del Toro) and the firm Pacific Rim. And I love Charlie Hunnam in films though I think his acting is just so so and he’s not hot to me – he just has this natural good guy presence (I’ve never watched that bikie gang show he was on though).

I read some review by some mainstream reviewer that basically complained about the film not being sufficiently tailored to Western audiences. To me, that was partly what was so good about it (and what’s good about del Toro’s films in general – the unique vision) – the international feel and the ensemble cast. Looking forward to this.

  15. Caz says:

I like how Alicia & Fassy are low-key.

  16. roxane says:

    @Caz. Yeah I agree my comment wasn’t a critic.
