Kim Cattrall appeared on Good Morning Britain this week to promote her new show. GMB’s cohost is professional troll Piers Morgan, a man who has found his niche as a racist and misogynist jackass. Jezebel even wrote last week that “it’s time to ignore Piers Morgan” and I agree. But this is mostly about Kim Cattrall. And how Piers Morgan is obsessed with Kim Kardashian and Kim’s naked selfies. So Piers asked Kim Cattrall about Kim Kardashian.
She’s no stranger herself to stripping off on-screen, having disrobed to play sex-mad Samantha in Sex And The City. But when it comes to posing for naked selfies, actress Kim Cattrall admits she finds the process strange and ‘boring’. Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, the English-born star, 60, was asked by host Piers Morgan what she thought about the Kardashians.
She said: ‘I don’t really watch the Kardashians. But I don’t think you can avoid them.’
When Piers asked about the naked selfies, after Kardashian, 35, posed in the buff twice in recent months on her Instagram, Cattrall said she didn’t see the point.
The former Mannequin star replied: ‘I think it’s a bit boring. It’s a one-off situation. I don’t know how you build a career on that. But they seem to have done that.’
I love Kim Cattrall and I think she’s great, but I did feel a little twinge of “O RLY?” I mean, Kim has done a lot of nudity in her career, and her most famous role was as Samantha on Sex and the City, where she was naked a lot of the time. While I’m sure the justification was: that’s the character, that’s the role, that’s the show, it still struck me as needlessly judgy from someone who had one of the most famous Big O scenes in the history of film (in Porky’s).
Cattrall also threw shade on the new, revamped Top Gear too. That shade is well-deserved.

I used to occasionally find reasons to defend the Kardashians because some of their hate was unnecessary. After that Kardashian-Jenner “slang” article, though??? NOPE. I’m in a “scorched earth” mood now.

Not only is most of the slang appropriated from Black culture, but it’s hypocritical. She’s all about feminism and women’s empowerment when she’s trying to defend herself. However, she seems perfectly content to use sexism and/or misogyny to bring other women down.
I read her comments on KK differently. Seems she’s saying she doesn’t understand the business model KK uses or how it works. As in she’s just saying, in her opinion, KK is boring naked, and how does that translate to money if it’s given away for free on selfies? Then Cattrall says she knows they built careers off it but she personally doesn’t get it.

Right. She was asked for her opinion and she gave it. She didn’t slut-shame her for posing nude, she said it’s boring and it is: it’s boring and repetitive.

Coming from her, I do think it’s a bit hypocritical. I realize Samantha was just a character and that character’s personality was promiscuous and hyper sexual, but Kim Cattral took it way too seriously and basically adopted that persona as her own. She talks and acts like a sex kitten ever since Sex & The City became popular. Like Madonna maintaining the accent from Evita all these years and Johnny Depp taking on a somewhat British accent all these years since his pirates movies and working with Tim Burton. It’s obvious and super try hard. Like we don’t know….

Every time I see her in an interview I’m taken aback at how unlike her character in SATC she is. I guess I always expect her to have that trademark Samantha “purr” to her voice, but nope, her natural voice sounds completely different.
She’s intelligent, well-spoken, and thoughtful–all things that Kartrashians are not–so yeah, she wins this one. I also happen to agree with her about boring nude selfies, so there’s that.
I disagree, I think she comes across as reserved, intelligent and thoughtful in interviews.

Right? I’m with her on this, it is boring because we’ve seen it all before. Same face (minus the tweaking she’s had done) same pose, it’s all the same over and over. She doesn’t do anything new. You can expect her to tweak her face, wear terrible clothes, and post nude selfies every other month. Boring. At least with Samantha there was a story that went with it but with KK there’s nothing but a vacant expression.
I have to agree with her about Top Gear, what they have done to that show is egregious. Jeremy Clarkson was naff in the first degree, but Chris Evans is an over-paid knob-head from way back, and why the Beeb ever gave him leg room is a mystery to me.

I agree, the Kardashian’s are starting to get a bit boring. I used to find myself clicking on their articles in the Daily Mail and here (I’m a glutton for punishment I guess, because I really can’t stand them and their fame$horing ways), but now I rarely do so. I am hoping that others are following suit and they will soon be relegated to the status of old reality stars like….hmmm, I don’t know, I don’t remember any old reality stars…haha!
I agree with Kim C. 100%. Any nudity she’s done was for a movie or TV show. Kimbo’s constant naked posing/selfies is boring. It seems to be the only thing she knows how to do well.
I don’t think Kim Cattrall is being hypocritical. She has done nudity in films and on TV.. that is a part of acting as the characters she is playing. She has been very vocal about her sexuality as Kim C.. I see her meaning. Kim takes nude selfies.. That seems to be her “career” she doesn’t have a business outside of self promotion. The problem with that is we have seen every angle of the product she is selling. how many times do we need to see Kim nude. All she has now is trying to pose nude in different ways. Thing is it is still yet another nude photo. And yes at this point it is boring. Maybe not for some or men.. but when I see OH Kim posted another selfie.. no need to look at all. Same old same old

I don’t know Kim C. because she got naked for a role in a film. I know her from being a actress.
Not judgy. She’s being truthful. It’s what everyone has been saying. Kim’s nudes are redundant and not sexy at all. We’ve seen it all. There’s no mystery, no allure to seeing her manufactured T&A. That’s what Kim Cattrall is saying. And she’s never done a nude shoot as herself. Never. If she’s been nude, it’s been for a role.
