The Heir Apparent to the Kardashian Kingdom, North West, turned three last Wednesday. Her cousin, Penelope Disick, will turn four on July 8th. To mark the occasion, Kim and Kourtney threw a joint mermaid party on Saturday. in their backyard. The shindig included wigs, princesses, dancing and a good time to be had by all. The party was heavily documented on Instagram, as you would expect.
There’s no birthday party like a Kardashian family birthday party!
As the temperatures rose in Southern California Saturday afternoon, Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian decided to throw a joint-birthday party for their children North West and Penelope Disick.
Let’s just say the mermaid-themed celebration turned out to be oh-so-magical.
As documented on Snapchat, the birthday girls dressed in matching mermaid outfits while Kim opted for the same costume as one of her emojis.
Khloe Kardashian decided to wear lavender hair by her niece’s request while Kylie Jenner was focused on showcasing the “Under the Sea” elements outside.
“This is how Scott and I spend our Saturdays,” Khloe joked on Snapchat before enjoying dessert. “Becky with the pink hair.”
Guests including Kanye West and a few familiar Disney Princesses were also able to enjoy delicious cakes, dancing and pool time out in the backyard.
Last week was terrible and a fun kids’ birthday party is exactly the kind of balm we need. I love that the Kardashians throw the kids a backyard party. ET gave even more details like the fact that there were TWO mermaid cakes. Mmmm cake. They claim that everyone was on theme costume-wise but it looks as if Kourtney and Khloe just wore pink and purple wigs. I’m sorry but a pink wig does not a mermaid make. Kim, on the other hand, went full mermaid by recycling her 2014 Halloween costume:

I don’t really get young children, I have a cat if I need something to curl up on my lap and yell at me if it’s hungry. But I know many moms who lament their babies not being young anymore and I think the video is pretty cute. Kim and Kanye both adore North and that shows. North celebrated at Disneyland with a Princess makeover for the second year in a row. They stuck around for the fireworks, which Kourtney posted and so am I because Disneyland’s fireworks are amazing.
So happy birthday North and Penelope! One of my brothers turned 50 yesterday. I think I will throw him a mermaid birthday party – I have always suspected he would look good in a shell bra.

She’s the most beautiful celebrity kid I have ever seen. Such a gorgeous girl. But these are the Kardashians so she’ll probably have a brand new face by the time she’s 17.

Think for 3 & 4 year olds the top of the costume could have been a little more conservative. But that’s just me and the way I was raised.
Seriously? At that age I wouldn’t have had a top. Most kids only wear bottoms on the beach anyway, this isn’t that different.
I agree with Locke. Seriously? Way to sexualize children. If it were my kod, she wouldn’t even have a top, because she’s a child and there’s nothing controversial or shameful to see!

I get SWAK…point is how ever they’re dressed, it is posted n is public. Don’t dress them as if the who.e world is watching. When we were little they didn’t have internet n instagram so it was ok

Saw a good pic of Kim’s outfit on another site. Crazy squeezed herself into an old mermaid costume, with her boobs on full display. Heaven forbid she ever wear anything appropriate.

Why do they pull these little girls’ hair back so tight? I know when I was a kid (and even today) I get a headache if my hair is pulled back like that. Poor kids.
I love that the girls are so close and that they were thrown a joint party. Big families are the best, though I am no Kardashian fan. I know a lot of people who mourn their kids growing up, and beg them not to get older, and I think that’s the wrong message, and kind of sick. So basically, you had a kid or kids so they’d stay little forever? You wanted a baby/babies, not to be a parent? When they’re older, they’ve lost their worth and their interest? I get that they’re not easy when they’re older, but there’s something to love in every stage. “Mommy and Daddy need me to be a baby forever” is not the message to send.
