At this point, I don’t have to recap the entire saga of the “Bad Blood” between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, right? If you aren’t familiar, this post probably isn’t for you. For what it’s worth, I think the majority of butthurt-ness came from Taylor Swift’s side. Katy never seemed to care that much either way, even when Taylor was making it her life’s mission to “collect” all of the high-profile women who might befriend Katy at some point. As everyone figured out almost immediately after Taylor dropped 1989, Taylor wrote “Bad Blood” about Katy and their beef. The song includes the chorus:
Cause baby, now we’ve got bad blood
You know it used to be mad love
So take a look what you’ve done
Cause baby, now we’ve got bad blood, hey!
Chilling. Much bad blood.
So, with those lyrics in mind, what do we make of the fact that Katy Perry’s new perfume is called Mad Love? Katy Perry already has a successful fragrance called Mad Potion, so it’s believed that Mad Love is just a spinoff on the “Mad” theme. Why didn’t Katy go with Mad Perfume? Mad Lust? Mad World? Mad Hot? Mad Firework? WHY MAD LOVE? Thankfully, while many are side-eyeing Katy for this perfume-name choice, Taylor can’t do anything about it legally. “Mad Love” was not one of the lyrics/song names/phrases that she trademarked last year. Too bad. I would love to see Katy and Swifty’s Bad Blood make it into trademark infringement law.

Seems like if Taylor feels like being in the news, then she has to saturate it. It can’t just be a story or two, it has to be an epic saga of All Taylor All the Time.

Ah yes a nice long hiatus from Swift stories would be refreshing, right along with Blake Lively. Further, I don’t think Katy’s perfume is named after her nemesis. Why would she give her further promotion. Enough.

I mean, if I were in Katy’s shoes and Taylor kept taking public swipes at me for over 2 years… I’d probably be inclined to be a little petty back.
I wasn’t particularly pointing at Katie .. but all of these young women and their “squads”.. it is all just so juvenile. Especially when you have such young girls following you and idolizing you. They are such poor examples of what you can do in the positions they are in. They could do so much and yet it is all reduced to Girl Fights.
And how much money has Taylor made off of this dumb feud? Now it’s Katy’s turn.
But Bad Blood came out over a year ago. This stupid “feud” fizzled out a while ago. I think it makes Katy look weak to still be beating that horse. It would be better revenge for Katy to release a song/video/product that everyone loved independently, instead of bringing it back around to Taylor.

In all fairness, Katy’s perfume was probably in development for a couple of years. It usually takes time to test colognes and perfume to get the mix right.
Eh, given the similarity to the name of the previous one, I don’t think this has anything to do with Taylor. But then again neither of them have ever shied away from being petty and immature. Or auto-tuned.

Good god, does Taylor own the entire English language now? I don’t see how Katy was involved in this “feud” at all, besides the one tweet she had, after Taylor made a huge fuss about her and that song. I love that people will “side eye” Katy for this, but no one cares that Taylor writes entire songs about how much she dislikes people. End rant. I need to stop clicking on Taylor articles!
I’m impressed with Taylor’s improvement in makeup skills over the years as shown by that bottom photo. She has really figured out how to work with smaller eyes. Mad love to her for that.
Me thinks there is slightly more than makeup involved…just a tad bit of tweak. But it looks good.

I think Swift enjoys the spotlight no matter what the story is. The more she thinks people are going after her, the more she can victimize herself. For such a supposedly “sweet” girl, there seems to be a lot of her peers who know the other side of her. Mr. West is not included but I’m sure he would be Team Katy.
I was wondering if all this bad blood from Tay to Katy is more sexual than friendly one. Taylor acts like a scorned lover. Maybe Katy kissed the girl and didn’t like it.
Rocio: I think Katy knows the Taylor the public doesn’t. That is why she called her Regina George from Mean Girls in that tweet. I’m decidedly not a fan of Swifts, and Katy is mediocre in my opinion, but if forced to be in one of their company, it most definitely would be Katy. Taylor has been a scored lover many times so she has practice, lol, but she can’t outwit Katy!
Is it really a good look for Katy, though? IMO, it makes her seem fixated on things that happened over a year ago. I think it would have been a better strategy and move on and just be successful. Bringing it back around to Taylor kind of gives Taylor power in this situation. Katy looks weak, IMO.

I’m no Katy fan, but to be fair to her, all she did was tweet the Regina George thing and didn’t bother to acknowledge Taylor nor this whole situation again. Taylor needs to follow her own advice (you know, when she was all like “ugh, just let it go already” about her feud with Kanye) and get over this.
I can be a bit petty at times, so it would be kind of funny to me if that’s the reason she actually chose the name. Also wouldn’t that be the ultimate revenge? To profit off of someone’s attempt to attack you and take you down. Way to make that negative into a positive.

Their fight is boring and childish, yet in my opinion Katy comes across worse than Taylor. Katy is a full grown woman in her 30’s behaving like a teenager, at least Taylor was in her early 20’s when their feud began.

I don’t like or dislike any of them particularly, and I think this feud is stupid. I’m just saying that I can see a 23-24 immature woman engaging in such a childish fight (I’m 25 and I have a friend who can’t let go her high school drama), a 28-29 not so much. That’s why in my opinion Katy looks worse fighting with Taylor, even though both look dumb and childish.

I’ve got nothing against either one of them, but if it is shade it’s hilarious LOL I honestly don’t think either one of them has strong feelings about it at this point.
