Enquirer: Charlie Sheen hired guys to beat up and threaten his doctor in Mexico

Charlie Sheen is again on standard, effective antiretroviral medication for his HIV after seeking alternative treatment from a Mexican quack. Like all of his relationships, his treatment went great at first and then Charlie soon turned on the doctor in the press when the goat’s milk cure predictably didn’t work. This is Charlie Sheen though, so he didn’t stop there. According to the National Enquirer, the doctor, Samir Chachoua, filed a police report in Mexico earlier this month claimed he was beat up and robbed by two guys very obviously hired by Charlie. During the robbery, they injected him with something that made him woozy and even took his phone and sent text messages from it – to someone named Charlie. Plus they left a note afterwards specifically referencing Charlie.

In the shocking report [from June 8], Chachoua said he dropped his phone and when he looked for it, heard a mysterious voice asking, “Looking for this?”

That’s when he saw two men in their late ’20s – one of them holding his phone. In a blur, the two assailants wailed on the stunned physician and injected hi with an unknown agent that made him “woozy.”

“I felt a strong blow on the back of my head and felt that they had injected me with something, so that I fell to the floor and they began to hit me,” he said. “But in that moment I didn’t feel the blows, and it was at that moment that both of them began to search me and they took my money.”

Chachoua also claimed in the report that the gangsters used his phone to send a series of text messages to an unknown number. Those texts included the 50-year-old Sheen’s name, he said.

According to the police complaint, they read, “He is back… do we do this,” and “tell Charlie need another 1000.”

Chachoua said they left him bloodied with a note that read, in part”We are not criminals… you almost killed Charlie Sheen. We are not fans of Charlie, but no other celebrity has fought to cure AIDS.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition]

So not only did this quack doctor get beat up by guys hired by Charlie, they pretty much advertised it. Charlie gambled on this treatment and he knew it and joked that he may as well try because he was “half dead anyway.” It didn’t pan out for him so he went back on his meds. This was Charlie’s gamble and no one talked him into it. This all happened around late January/early February. So now it’s been four months and Charlie still hired thugs to beat up the doctor and threaten him. I would say it’s unbelievable, but it’s not, it sounds pretty standard for Charlie.

Again, we’re talking about Charlie Sheen because he’s being given yet another chance to redeem himself to the public. This despite decades of terrible, abusive criminal behavior and a very long police record. Maybe he’ll be prosecuted for willingly spreading HIV without informing his partners, but it’s doubtful.

I wish HIV had a less insane spokes person.

Not in the sense I wish HIV on anyone, but holy crap this guy is just on a break from reality.

  2. Jade says:

It’s like he can’t surprise you anymore and then he ups the ante.

  3. laura says:

I’m by no means a Sheen apologist but this doesn’t sound believable to me. I mean, I wouldn’t put it past him but it just doesn’t sound right.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Same. That note doesn’t even make sense. But I won’t put it past him, either.

      • Jwoolman says:

The doctor himself could have written the note and the texts. He must be pretty ticked with how Charlie has been talking about him. If the mugging really happened, might have seen it as an opportunity. Or the whole thing could be a setup from the beginning to get some revenge. Plus a paycheck from the National Enquirer.

The least likely event is that Charlie bothered to hire two yahoos to beat up the doc and who would text Charlie from the doc’s phone. They didn’t have their own phone and a place to text? Charlie didn’t use a burner phone to communicate with the yahoos? More holes than Swiss cheese.

    • Naya says:

It does if he hired fellow meth users. What would be weird is if Charlie had hired sober professional hitmen.

    • swak says:

It’s the Enquirer, so grain of salt taken.

    • Lama Bean says:

      +1

    • Lucrezia says:

It might be bad reporting, but the drug-reaction does not sound believable. Sedatives only work that quickly if they’re injected into the bloodstream. Whatever it was, it should’ve taken a few minutes to take effect if injected into the muscle. If hired goon actually found a blood vessel first go, while attacking from behind – he’s missed his calling as a phlebotomy tech.

    • Jwoolman says:

I’m rather astounded that Celebitchy wrote this article and the headline assuming this flimsy tale was gospel truth. Expected better. Throw in a few alleged’s at least, please.

So we’re supposed to believe a couple of thugs and the goat milk guy (who says he was woozy throughout the experience)?!? The story about the failed treatment was all over the news. Anybody could have claimed “the devil Charlie made me do it”. Geez, for all we know the doc is getting back at Charlie for Charlie’s public statements about him. Bring a barrel of salt the next time you read an article in the National Enquirer.

  4. Emma33 says:

If this is true, I don’t condone Charlie’s behaviour, but quack doctors who prey on vulnerable, desperate sick people are the lowest of the low. (Well…equally as low as someone who knowingly spreads HIV).

If that doctor was selling an (undoubtedly) expensive and unproven treatment that he knew wouldn’t work then he deserves jail as much as Charlie.

    • PrincessMe says:

      What you said.

I’m taking this with a grain of salt but I’m having a hard time feeling sorry for him if any of this is true. People get desperate for cures for their illnesses and for someone to take advantage of that is really low. Nobody looks good/better than the other in this mess (if it’s at all true).

  5. MrsBPitt says:

“Charlie Sheen hired guys to beat up and threaten doctor in Mexico” Sounds about right! I believe everything and anything I hear about this guy…he is nuts, crazy, off the rails, insane, and dangerous….and he thinks he can get away with anything, because he has gotten away with so much over the years. Remember shooting Kelly Preston, remember holding a knife to his ex-wife’s throat? And now, having unprotected sex with women, without informing them he has hiv/aids…Charlie Sheen is a monster, and should be in jail…

    • my3cents says:

Don’t forget the rumors about his pedophile ways (at least back in the days with the Corey’s).
He is a monster ,no sappy interviews can ever erase that.

  6. Patricia says:

There’s zero forgiveness in my heart for this violent and abusive maniac. Wouldn’t bother me one bit if he ended up in jail soon and died there. A lot of people would be safer if he was behind bars for the rest of his life.
I always fear that we will read a horrific headline involving his children one day. He’s been a monster to them already and I don’t put anything past him. Better he be locked up.

  7. Crumpet says:

Why is it doubtful he will get prosecuted? I was pinning all my hopes on that for some sort of justice for all the women he has fecked over. And over.

    • MorningCoffee says:

Because the 2 women who are saying he did this are prostitutes. They are the “Goddesses”, correct? There will be no sympathy for them. And to be honest……I’m not sure I would even want to be in the same room with Sheen without a full body condom, so the fact that they apparently let him get away without a condom just boggles my mind. I would just assume the man has all forms of disease.

I will admit to always having a soft spot for Charlie. He was the bad boy that women liked and wanted to “save.” He always seemed to be poking fun at himself, especially on Two and a Half Men. But as that ended and he has kept up the shenanigans…..what was illogically attractive about a younger man is just pathetic about a 50 year old. Grow up, Charlie.

    • Lucrezia says:

I am not a lawyer, but I just looked up California’s law. California Health and Safety Code 120291: “Any person who exposes another to HIV by engaging in unprotected sexual activity (anal or vaginal intercourse without a condom) when the infected person knows at the time of the unprotected sex that he or she is infected with HIV, has not disclosed his or her HIV-positive status, and acts with the specific intent to infect the other person with HIV, is guilty of a felony. A person’s knowledge of his or her HIV positive status, without additional evidence, is not sufficient to prove specific intent.”

That doesn’t seem to fit. I think we all agree Charlie’s a reckless idiot, and that his behaviour was unacceptable, but I don’t think anyone has suggested he was deliberately trying to infect others. So I think the best you have to hope for is a civil suit, not a criminal one.

There’s actually a couple of decent reasons the law is so loose. Firstly, specifically criminalizing the spread of HIV is stigmatizing and unfair. Twice as many people die from the flu each year than die from complications of HIV, but we don’t charge people who wander around coughing their flu germs all over everything. Secondly, once you start making laws about how you have to behave when you have a HIV diagnosis, you put an incentive on NOT getting tested. From a public health perspective, that’s the opposite of what you want. If you’re happy with the law just being about punishment, then fine. But if you care more about prevention, then the laws are bad.

  8. JenniferJustice says:

So that’s his new identity now? “The only one trying to find a cure for HIV?” Really? Cause I’m pretty sure there’ve been many celebrities who’ve shed light on HIV, donated huge amounts of money to advocacy programs, raising awareness programs, and especially to science and medicine to find a cure. No Charlie. You aren’t the spokesperson for HIV. You aren’t the spokesperson for anything. But yeah, keep putting yourself out there like you’re some kind of victim/hero.

I seriously dont’ want this guy advocating for anything whether it’s a good cause or not. His mere association does more harm than good. Stay out of the limelight and stop tryinig to insert yourself into the issue as someone with anything meaningful to say. I feel like I’m the only person who sees this creep weaseling his way to “advocacy” when he is part of the problem = “knowingly spreading it!”

    • MC2 says:

      Yes to everything you said.
Charlie said in an interview that since there had been no other star to bring awareness to HIV that it is his burden/duty/calling. GTFO. I wanted the interviewer to slap him & just walk away.
This guy never ceases to amazes me but the media & public giving him a platform & feeding into his crap blows my mind more. Like you said- he is part of the problem not a solution.
Saying that a Charlie story is not true because it’s not believable is like expecting Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory to be predictable. I don’t put anything past him or his ‘friends & associates’. ‘Tiger Blood’?! You can’t think that kind of crazy up in a sane mind.

  9. Arpeggi says:

Considering this comes from a man that claims to have managed to cure AIDS and cancer by using milk/serum from mexicain arthritic goats, I tend to highly doubt this story. The so-called Dr. Sami is a pathological liar and has made much too much money on the back of very desperate people. Charlie Sheen is a violent, lying, abuser of course, but anything this quack doctor say needs to be taken with a lot of skepticism. I mean, what kind of hitmen are good enough to inject people with tranquilizers but stupid enough to text their “boss” using their victim’s phone?!? Remember that this guy is used to have everything he says unquestioned; he did after all claim to have cured the Comoros island of AIDS on Bill Maher, something that 2 min on Google will show is completely false.

Quack doctors, Chachoua included, will claim that people, usually the authorities/experts in a field, are out to get them and silence them to gain the sympathy of people prone to distrusting the establishment and Chachoua has said in the past that he’s been assaulted/threatened already (possibly by the family of ex-patients who realized that their loved one had been fooled, but he left that part out). He is a strong adept of consiparcy theories. “Dr. Sami” was very happy to parade Sheen around and use him for publicity when Sheen was keen to play the game, but now that even him has realized that he’s been fooled and voiced it, discrediting Sheen (which isn’t hard to do) could seem like good way to turn things around. And because he is a dangerous person, he actually deserves to get his a$$ kicked by a previous patient anyway.

Now, has Bill Maher apologized about bringing this snake oil vendor and treating him like a legitimate scientist who actually discovered something?

  10. Molly says:

I keep thinking back to that comment made, I think, by Coco Chanel–that as we age, we get the face that we deserve. I’d say that’s true here.

  11. Jwoolman says:

Zero evidence that Charlie had anything to do with it. If texts were sent by the muggers, of course Charlie could have received some of them. I assume his number was in the doc’s address book.

The whole story is too ridiculous. Besides, what would the motivation be? Charlie wanted to try an alternative treatment, he did, it didn’t work, so he’s back on the standard treatment. No benefit for Charlie to beat up the doc that he himself voluntarily went to for treatment. Why waste money on thugs?!?. He’s not that crazy.
