Kim Kardashian did an event earlier this week to celebrate her July cover of GQ. At the event, Kim chatted with Women’s Wear Daily about her GQ cover but not the content of the interview, as in… no questions about Taylor Swift and how Kim is the meanest meanie who ever mean-girled (so Swifty says). Kim also talked about Kanye West’s terrible “Famous” video, her diet and more. Some highlights:
Why she decided to pose naked for GQ: “GQ is iconic, so when I got the call to do their anniversary cover, the summer issue, I thought, “You know what? It’ll be a really good goal to motivate me to get me to do my diet perfectly.” I still wasn’t quite at my goal weight when we shot it, but I was working so hard and it was that motivation for me. You set a date for a shoot and you know you have to be there. It made me feel so good about myself knowing I had come so far. I had to lose, like, 60 pounds to get there. I had just had my second baby. I thought, “I want to feel sexy again. I want to feel good about myself,” and that was what did it for me.”
Her post-baby workout & diet: “I woke up every day at six in the morning and worked out. I did a strict Atkin’s diet. Strict, strict, strict. It was really hard for me to diet [with the] first baby. This time was so much easier and I realized [it comes down to] the food. I mean, I love to work out and you definitely have to work out to tone up, but so much of it is how you eat. I had to really stay focused. I had to cut out all the sweets and I had such a sweet tooth. After-baby body? I welcome that challenge.”
Kanye wants Kim to be more like Carine Roitfeld: “I think I was super-trendy and then I learned a lot about fashion being with Kanye. Years ago, like maybe 2009, he gave me a Carine Roitfeld book and said, “This should be your fashion bible. She is everything.” And now, having worked with her and having her pick out clothes that I wear is incredible. It’s such a full-circle moment, such a dream come true. I love fashion. And I love to experiment, try new things. I think my style has evolved a lot; the more you know, the more you travel, the more you meet people, you become educated and you [dress] better.
Her summer plans: “We’re shooting [season 13 of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”] I would love a vacation, but I don’t know if I’m going to get one this summer. My husband starts his tour, so we’re going to do that with the babies. His tour is super easy. He does a few weeks, and then he’s home for a few weeks. It’ll be fun.Her kids’ latest milestones: “North just turned three. Saint is, like, almost standing. He’s only six months, but he is literally almost standing. It’s wild. He’s the best. He’s the sweetest. I showed him a dog today. He got a little scared. North loves dogs, so I said, “If you talk your dad into getting you a dog, your brother has to be comfortable,” and he was so not comfortable, so it saved me for a little bit longer from having to go and get a dog. She’s not cleaning up after it, so I want to stall for as long as possible.
What she thought of Kanye’s “Famous” video: “I actually never saw the final edit of it. I did that kind of on purpose because I love to be surprised. It was, like, three, four months in the making, so I obviously knew it was going on, but I didn’t actually see the final cut until he debuted it at The Forum. It was really cool.
Reading an interview with Kim in WWD just reminds me that the war is sort of over. Meaning that Kim will never be the most popular or well-liked person on any blog, but we can no longer debate that she has gained acceptance as A) a legit celebrity, B) someone interesting in fashion, C) someone fashion people acknowledge. WWD even asked her about which photographers she would love to work with and she named Steven Meisel and Mario Testino, and I was surprised because I honestly thought Meisel and Testino had already photographed her.
A few other points… if Kanye wanted to be with a woman who looks and dresses like Carine Roitfeld, why in the world did he marry Kim? And I was genuinely charmed by the story about North wanting a dog and Saint not being into it. Although I really hope they don’t get a dog, because I don’t think Kim and Kanye would be good animal-parents. Remember poor Mercy Kardashian? That poor cat.

Something about her interviews are getting less annoying… Maybe my perception of her changed??? I don’t know. This wasn’t that bad.
You’re probably less annoyed because these are certainly written interviews and her responses to the questions are written by someone else, who is getting better at presenting Kim as less annoying. She may have hired someone new, actually, the voice seems different.
Hmmm… maybe. If it is someone doing a written interview for her, they’ve done a great job of elevating her speech while also speaking simply and adding just enough “likes” to make it seem real.
How does a 6-month-old know whether or not he wants a dog. That’s all I’ve got…tired of commenting on anything regarding them except for the adorable kids.
I’ve never heard of someone even expecting a six month old to know whether or not he “wants a dog”. Their reaction to the sight of a dog can change so fast from moment to moment or day to day. Nori is really too young to take seriously on such matters also, since in a normal family it would be so obvious that she can’t take care of one herself and the parents would have to be the ones to really want a dog for themselves. Kim isn’t really a pet lover, she hates messes and dogs and cats are messy. (I predicted long ago that Kim would get more interested in Nori only when she was in a less messy stage of life. The kid is still messy, but not as much as in infancy.)
But Kim and Kanye won’t be taking care of the dog either, so what’s the point? If they want a dog, just hire a doggie nanny and be done with it. Let Nori visit the dog every now and then when she remembers it exists, she won’t really be living in close quarters with it.
But the purpose of this little story was to make us believe that Kim and her family are just like us, when they are most definitely not. There is no guarantee that the story is even true, since Kimmie (and her representatives who write her interview responses) lies routinely. Really is a waste of time to feel charmed by any story she tells, it’s so likely to be a work of fiction.

They seem like the kind of people who would get a puppy and then either give it away or just completely ignore it once it’s not little and cute anymore. And that’s no way to treat a friend
The Jenner girls got a dog ( I don’t remember which one) then went away for the weekend and locked the dog in the laundry room with no one to take care of it. I remember seeing Kris (as part of the show) having to clean it all up. Then we never saw the dog again.
She looks surprisingly good here. Pale blue suits her. Remember back a couple of years ago when Anna Wintour was still reportedly refusing to put Kim in the mag? It’s weird how that generalized attitude has reversed. Like being in UpsideDownWorld or something.
She does! All luscious and pretty. I think the hair is fantastic and the less makeup she puts on the better she look. All those contouring shite are much too severe, I don’t know why so many beautiful ladies do it, it just make them look cakey and drag queenie.

Other people will be taking care of a dog, so it really doesn’t matter one way or another. This is just yet another story Kim has pulled in from somewhere to make her own as an interview topic, no guarantee that it ever really happened. Sounds like another write-in interview, not Kim’s style of talking
If her fashion sense has been so improved by Kanye, why has she looked so consistently awful while being with him? She seems to be pulling away from him fashionwise lately, and sporadically actually looks good especially when she violates his rules. These pics are an example, Kim actually looks normal here and uncharacteristically comfortable. Even Nori has been allowed to wear something with colors in it never approved by daddy, so she doesn’t look like a goth wannabe toddler so much any more. But the mythology calls for Kanye to be praised as a fashion genius, so that’s what Kim’s ghostwriter wrote.
She never wanted little Mercy and did everything possible to get rid of her and she did. She is so self-centered and enamored of her body, maybe a little dog poop would put her in reality, nah, that won’t happen. She’s so happening she wears what looks like suede boots in summer, what a fashionista. Mercy me..
Kanye got Mercy for her, meaning he might actually be a cat person. Or more likely he was copying Karl Lagerfeld and Choupette, and thought it would make him look more fashion-y.
But the cat was doomed from the very beginning. Kim didn’t want her and had no idea what to do with her. She tried dragging her around like an accessory dog, which doesn’t work well with cats. I remember one pic where Khloe was trying to show Kim how to hold a cat…. Kim tried to post cute pics of the cat, who always had a “help me” look in her eyes.
Don’t know if the allergy story Kim came up with to get rid of Mercy was true, noticed she doesn’t say anything about having allergies to furry critters in this story. I think her assistant took pity on the kitty and asked to take her off Kim’s unwilling hands. I don’t think Kim actually killed the kitty, though… Sometimes cats do die young from odd diseases, especially if they are bred to have what are actually defects (as was really the case with Mercy, she was deliberately puny).

I really need to lose some weight, so my new goal is going to be, if I lose enough weight, I am going to post a naked picture of myself on facebook to make myself feel sexy again! NOT! Kim, we have seen ENOUGH pictures of you naked. Do something different, like keep some clothes on at the next shoot!

Nope. I think we all just have to accept that this vapid bunch is never going away.
I don’t know but it seems their reality show is not doing that great. They are trying so hard for storylines it’s insane. I think they’d get a lot of ratings if they just kept the beef with Blac Chyna and Amber Rose going. That was entertaining. But instead, they are all acting all lovey dovey, which makes for boring TV.
Why is Kim naked even a thing anymore?

Mercy died because she was the poor little victim of irresponsible trend breeding. I dunno, I tend to believe the allergies were real. Lots of people are terribly allergic to cats and nothing else. Poor lil Merce
