These are photos of Jennifer Garner in Paris, where she was seen on Saturday at the Amfar dinner seated next to Donatella Versace and also at the Versace show during Paris fashion week. During the show she was in the front row next to Bradley Cooper, and they looked like they were chatting at times. Cooper was on the first and second season of Garner’s show Alias, from 2001-2003, where he played a friend of Garner’s Sydney Bristow character. (He’s described the experience as frustrating as he wasn’t getting much other acting work.) So they go way back. Incidentally, Naomi Campbell was sitting on the other side of Bradley Cooper and we’ve heard rumors about the two of them but apparently they’re just friends, too. Now I want to read tabloid stories about how Garner and Cooper have a little something happening. Not that I think it’s true, I just want to imagine it. (Update: Cooper’s girlfriend, model Irina Shayk, was in the Versace show.)
Garner was in this full length Versace gown in shades of navy which has some mildly interesting features but is otherwise pretty typical for her. I like the darting around one side of the top and the slightly different shades of blue separated by a white stripe but I think the ruffles at the shoulder and at the waist are overkill. One ruffle would have been plenty. What’s striking is her styling as she just looks so pretty with actual makeup on and her hair done. We see her so often out without makeup and sometimes with wet hair so when she’s put together the difference is noticeable. That seems to be deliberate, or maybe she just can’t be bothered day-to-day.
The Huffington Post has a little piece about how Garner has emerged somewhat triumphant in the year since she announced her separation from Ben Affleck. Of course she did that Vanity Fair interview, and outlets are still pulling her quotes from that, and she also just did events like this and The Oscars where she looked lovely and seemed happy. Plus she never talked smack and Affleck and their PR kept hammering home in the media that they were coparenting and doing things the right way for their kids. Meanwhile Affleck has seemed depressed, arguably drunk (or at least hungover) and struggling in the wake of his separation, which was only announced after it came out that he was cheating with the nanny. (Garner says they were separated at the time, but still that was a low blow.)
So Garner is the obvious winner in this scenario, and she definitely looks it. She claims that it’s been the year of wine but if that’s the case her estranged husband is probably drinking most of it while she’s showing him what he’s missing.
I really like the dress – she looks great.

Lol that reminds me of the ads we had on the metro last year here in Paris where they tried to get guys to stop manspreading. I actually never had a problem until last week. I got on and there was an open seat next to a guy and I kept pushing at the seat to get it to come down but he wouldn’t move until the 3rd try where he just looked pissed that I tried to sit there and then he proceeded to take up part of my seat. We live in Paris, people aren’t large but this douchebag thought it was his right or sow thing so I proceeded to spend the whole ride hitting him with whatever. As far as I see it he shouldn’t have been in my space. Evil manspreading men.

I think the style of the dress is too ‘matronly’ for her. To me, Jen looks best in strapless looks, even the one shoulder strap look is good on her. Here she looks all buttoned up and like she’s about to clutch her pearls at any second.
I also wonder why she never wears earrings. I considered the fact that she might be insecure about her ears, thinking that wearing earrings might bring attention to them. But If she were insecure about her ears and felt wearing earrings would bring attention to them, she wouldn’t wear her hair back as often as she does.

She never got her ears pierced. True story.
Its possible they bother or irritate her lobes. As I’ve gotten older, I can’t wear earrings for very long. My lobes get red and hot and I always end up taking earrings out an hour after I have put them in.
She has just committed to never getting them pierced. As a young girl, she and her sisters were quite conservative in their styles. I knew her better than her sisters, not sure if they are still not pierced as well.
From my Alias watching days, I think they used to joke about her ears. They’d have to film scenes around her ears and how they would stick out, etc. I think it was kind of a good natured joke, but also kind of rooted in truth.
It reminds me of my primary school gymnastics leotard. She looks pretty though.

Yes she looks great, but I don’t think either one of them is the “winner”. For me personally I just get embarrassed by both of them now. They are so embarrassing. Just get divorced already! Your kids don’t need the back-and-forth for years, Ben isn’t going to stop being a drunk douche, just get it done with and set up some stability for your kids.

One correction to this article – the split was not announced after it came out about the nanny. They announced it BEFORE the nanny thing went public (Jen knew about the plane trip to Vegas when they announced, but the public didn’t yet know.)
This is going to be the year of Garner. There is clearly an aggressive effort underway to revamp her image. Yahoo! did a piece yesterday that was so fawning, you’d think they were on her payroll. She has gained more fame through this separation than ever before – at least since her Alias days. I wouldn’t have said this before, but it wouldn’t shock me if Ben wants back in now for this reason. This saga will never end.
Her face looks jacked up. Her street style is awful, her red carpet style is only marginally better but still totally frumpy. A new hairstyle would help her look more modern.

Something like Vicky Beckham’s new do would be great on her instead of this long, no-style hair (off duty it always looks limp and greasy). Her red carpet dresses are always fussy or matronly, she has the figure to pull off much sleeker looks.
I can live with a shoulder ruffle and a hip ruffle and one long slit, but some of the detailing is too much for me.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am all for mommies having a night on the town but you cannot deny it appears she is trying to rebrand. She just switched agents too. She desperately wants her career to take off. The problem is she’s a limited actress, there are (sadly) limited roles for women over 40 and MUCH more talented women to take them. We will see.

Both use the family thing for publicity as both are totally average actors who make bad movies and are uninteresting people.
I think the CA paparazzi law has been enforced with all kids of celebrities. The photos of Ben with the kids coming from church on Sunday never saw the light of day, just a few photos of ben alone from that set. They were probably able to make a case of harassment and endangerment towards the kids after footage from the airport and church was presented. So any pics that have ben and Jen with the kids posted will be subject to that law. Pics of Adam Sandler and his kids from this weekend, the kids were cut out.

The law that Jennifer campaigned for. It was big news for awhile, but she was accused of hypocrisy because her family candida are part of her image. I’m pretty sure the law only applies to paps keeping physical distance from kids/only papping if parents are present/not hanging out at schools, etc.

As I said above their have been tons of pictures of Ben and Jen kids in LA nothing has changed and as Soneone point out their are pictures of Ben and kids on the 4th. The law Halle and Jen campaigned for went into effect January 2015.

Kate Middleton looks raggedy as hell to me. She looks like she smokes two packs a day and never sleeps. Garner’s had some good, subtle work done, but she also looks like she lives a healthy lifestyle and oozes happy vibes.
People Mag is really disappointing. They clearly based their July 4th “sighting” off of a social media video which shows Ben with Violet and Sera. So they are reporting that he and Jen were with the girls at the parade. However, there is another social media pic of Ben holding Sam at the parade, so that part is wrong. Jen is not in either of the pics and there are no pap pics of her returning to CA. I’m betting that she is still in Europe and it was a nanny with Ben and the kids at the parade. When did scrounging through random social media and then re-posting it like it’s fact become acceptable journalism? I for some reason thought People was better than that.

I feel like jen has made a move here to re image herself to better her career and good for her. She was seen in Paris this weekend having a great time shopping and at a Fashion show sitting next to handsome Brad Cooper.
If she was at the July 4th parade, and I think she was, there are apparently no photos. This is very surprising because they seem to be papped there every year and so you would think the photogs would be there waiting. I almost feel like she is making a concerted effort not to photographed with Ben and the kids as part of her image change. This could be regardless of whether they are together or not.
I think people ran that piece (as did enews) at the direction of their publicist. To let us know even though she was a woman of the world this past weekend, she is back with her kids for the holiday. I think the no pics is part of a concerted effort in her (new agents ) part not to be actually photographed as a family as that is now contrary to the new image she is building.
I think from an image perspective Ben now needs her more than she needs him.
Another interesting note – there are pics from a few years ago (maybe 2013) of them at the parade with her friend / manager Nicole king with her husband. (Aka the handsome accountant from a few weeks ago)
Ok so I’m wrong about the photos – there are great photos on the DM. If you did not know better, you would just think they are a happily married couple with kids and a dog.
So I do still think she is making an age change and I do think he needs her more Re image. This could account for the reports that he wants to stay in the marriage.This also may work into her long term plan. Maybe her way of becoming a leader in the marriage (public ally). And him being the follower. Just my opinion.

Agree. Not sure if you mean the same thing, but I’ve been saying since they split that she’s playing the long game – hoping Ben will come around and they’ll reconcile. I never thought they’d divorce, from the day they split – mainly because she doesn’t want it to happen. But I’m also now starting to agree with J, above, that I think he is seeing all of the focus and attention on her now, and I’d be willing to bet he’s rethinking whether he wants a divorce now.
So I went to see the DM photos and as you scroll down looking at the lovely family with the awesome dog, Lo and behold a pic of nanny Christine. He really will never be able to lose that will he? Fair enough.
I am very excited to see Jennifer reinvent herself. I’ve seen so many women in the legal field struggle trying to get ground after they come off mommy track, birthing and raising young children. They work twice as hard as the men who have wives who take care of the kids while they get on with their careers. I want to see a woman do it and come out well publicly to show it can be done. And if anyone can, I think it’s Jennifer Garner.

She is one of those women that doesn’t “glam up” well. I think she looks prettiest in jeans and a sweater (or shorts, she’s got great legs) playing in the park with her kids. She looks stiff here, and something is wrong with her hair. It seems limp and lifeless.

Kind of interesting – E! is still sticking firmly to the “zero chance” of a reconciliation and “just co-parenting” story. I think they’re literally the only media outlet that is still saying this. Others are at least presenting both sides so that it looks like they’re on top of things no matter how this plays out.
Seems kind of weird that they’re sticking so firmly to that, going against all other stories with all of the rumors flying around. Wonder why…
If rumor is true he wants to stay, it appears from various he may not be sober and I think that would be a deal killer. His motives would clearly be fear and not change. I don’t think she would go back into what she just got out of. She’s tasted freedom and she’s on a good path for herself again.
If it’s not true, then the speculation is just that from everyone else. Their reps have consistently maintained co-parenting only, with no reconciliation.
Agree, just interesting that any outlet would stick firm to that stance since it goes against what literally all of the others are doing, which is flip-flopping every day to be sure they’re on the right side of however things work out. Surprising that E! feels so confident in sticking to that stance since it’s probably not getting the clicks. But good for them if it’s based on some kind of editorial integrity, which seems to be relatively non-existent with the entertainment mags/blogs. 🙂
@jojo. I think they got a solid publicist source back in May and they are sticking to it. Could be also they were promised a scoop in exchange for keeping the company line. Similar to when people reported last year that all was well and then hit the divorce announcement.
I think they will again lay low after this family sighting. My guess is Ben returns to London this week till mid month when he is supposed to appear at comiccon. Jen is also being honored elsewhere at about the same time, so I don’t expect she and the kids will be going to London now. August will bring movie promotions for both of them. My guess is they will trade off parenting duties. I don’t expect anything definitive to come out all summer.
I think the ET article was just letting us all know that things will continue indefinitely as they are with no divorce filing and no public reconciliation. This may continue to be the case until 1 of them actually needs a divorce to marry someone else. I think their lives are just so intertwined aside from the kids – dividing the assets may just be something they choose to put off so they can both enjoy their many residences etc. and maybe the road to friendship and shared children and assets does lead back to real togetherness. In the old days people stayed together for a lot less 😏

Meh. More of the tabloid “are they or aren’t they” garbage again. I think they are definitely still split and are co-parenting. If she takes him back, I will point and laugh at her when he cheats on her again because at that point she will deserve it. We all know that’s inevitable. Not sure why she even bothers at this point, it’s not like he’s some great prize anyway. A drunk nanny-banger with drug and gambling problems who wears bad toupees and can wear her bras.
