Over the weekend, Miley Cyrus introduced us to her latest pup, this beautiful Beagle name Barbie. Barbie featured prominently on Miley’s Instagram and I can see why, look at that little mug, she’s darling! Here she is hanging out with sister Tani:
I think Miley already had five dogs of her own so Barbie would make six. Miley’s boyfriend (fiancé?), Liam Hemsworth, also has two dogs of his own so Barbie is joining a proper pack. The beauty is, all the pups are rescues.
Speaking of Miley and Liam, they quietly reconciled earlier this year when she mysteriously appeared in Australia with him. Since then, Miley slipped her 3.5-carat engagement ring back on and they have been spotted on a few dates. Just two weeks ago, Miley posted this to her Instagram
This past Sunday, Miley and Liam were spotted out for dinner in Malibu, which means they probably spent the 4th together.
After Cyrus introduced Barbie to her 46 million followers on Saturday, she and Hemsworth, 26, enjoyed a romantic evening at SoHo House in Malibu on Sunday, July 3. The Hunger Games hunk and Cyrus — who sported the engagement ring Hemsworth gave her in 2012 — arrived to the private beach club with smiles on their faces and left the venue together in the same car.
As previously reported, the couple met on the set of 2010’s The Last Song. After three years of dating, Hemsworth asked for Cyrus’ hand in marriage, but they ended their relationship in 2013. Despite their breakup, the duo remained friends and reunited in December 2015. The Disney Channel alum was spotted wearing her engagement ring again the next month.
Although Hemsworth told TV Week Australia in March that he wasn’t engaged, that hasn’t stopped Cyrus from getting started on wedding planning.
Back in May, a source told Us Weekly that the singer-actress would like to walk down the aisle in her husband-to-be’s native Australia. During a late April trip to visit the Aussie star’s family in Byron Bay, “they were discussing potential venues and looking around,” the insider told Us.
“Miley’s mentioned she’s interested in having a bunch of bouncy houses,” a second source told Us of Cyrus’ non-traditional nuptials. “Like at a carnival!”
I am still not convinced on the longevity of the Cyrus-Hemsworth union but they can’t seem to quit each other so God bless. It seems the majority of stories about Miley, aside from her regrettable video and being cast in Woody Allen’s new Amazon miniseries, are all speculation about her relationship. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that Miley is manipulating the media this way. I want to believe that and not that she is allowing Liam to lead her around by the nose. But it’s hard because she proudly wears her engagement ring and his name on her shirt and all he all he does is deny their engagement or, at best, suggest we will figure out what’s going on with them eventually. I agree with Kaiser that whatever happened between Liam and Miley before really messed her up so I hope she is protecting herself this time. Plus she has to think of her fur babies, divorce is always hardest on the pets.
Although, I have to say, a carnival-like wedding with bouncy houses in Byron Bay is a wedding I can get on board with so I kind of want these kooky kids to go through with it.

Barbie is adorable. Beagles are very strong personalities and need supervision, unless you want your shoes eaten and your yard full of tunnels. Not sure Miley is up for that task

Well, ‘he’ seems to be keeping it out of the press. I think the important thing Hecate mentioned is what people keep glossing over: Liam has said that they are ‘not’ engaged, which gives creepy, desperate meaning to those first photos of Miley wearing the engagement ring. It’s almost like she’s acting out a fantasy and inviting people to come along for the ride.
I don’t buy that Miley was ‘destroyed’ after their break up and think it is possible they had already broken up before Liam started letting his eyes–and hands–wander. Just look at her behavior ‘now’ against the back drop of what he has and is saying. His body language is also strange in the one or two photos I’ve seen of them over this entire ‘back together again’ period as well in that he’s hurrying ahead to get inside the building or car and she’s trying to lag behind to give the Paps a ‘couple’ photo op.
Again idk the circumstances. Liam is by and large pap avoidant in general and Miley has never been that way. Do I think Miley would be wearing that ring without discussing it with Liam? Nope but it could be a “pap friendly” way to confirm they are officially back on. Again idk

Granted, I’ve always had cats and always stopped at two.
I imagine with that many, they rely on social contact with each other rather than on a human the way they do when there is just one or two.
I have to say the one and only thing I like about Miley is that she obviously loves her pets. I feel sorry for Hilton and Kardashian pets, but I’ve never felt sorry for a pet because it was rescued by Miley.
6 (or 8) dogs is a lot for one household, but I don’t doubt that they receive quality care in her home — at the very least more so than they would in a lab, on the street, or in a shelter.
Agreed ! She loves her pets, but why so many? Anyway, I’ve never liked Miley’s style or her gross stage performances. I find her to be a bit repulsive and just over the top exhibitionist. I have NO IDEA what Liam sees in her, and I really thought he walked away for good. Was I ever wrong. She’s basically very immature, so he must be as well, darn. And I like him so much. He’s well-behaved and has tact unlike her….too bad, he would make a great mate, but will be wasted on Miley, I’m a bit sick now….
That is one adorable animal. Poll: who in Hollywood owns the cutest dog? I’ve seen a lot of love for Amanda Seyfried’s pup, and Dina Eastwood’s amazing pugs are AWESOME…
Finn is way better than the pugs! Although to be fair I have an irrational hatred of pugs and French bulldogs and all the current trendy breeds, I like substantial dogs. So that said I think Liam’s latest rescue is soooo gorgeous, big boofy girl that she is.
It seems to me he has a calming effect on her. She doesn’t act out for attention as much.
It’s sad to think that her antics are all cries for love and affection. I can imagine it’s hard to feel genuinely loved by your parents when you are their meal ticket, and hard to know if your friends truly love you when you have been famous since you were a kid. Just speculating, but maybe she feels he truly loves her for herself so she calms down and stops acting out when he’s with her.
I hope she’s happy. Through it all, she’s a sweet person with a good heart who wants to help other people and animals. It’s hard to grow up right in front of everyone.
I pretty much agree with all you said. And I have some affection for her because of her love of dogs. Adopt, don’t shop!
She really went off the rails after they broke up. I feel for her. I think she’s a good kid with a kind heart. I hope Liam is sincere and that this ends well.
I agree, Patricia. I don’t know why, but I have always had a soft spot for Miley and have always been rooting for her. I think Hemsworth is a good influence on her and I hope they have got it together this time and can make it work for the long haul. That being said, they are both still awfully young, especially Miley. Maybe they need to give it a few more years of dating before they tie the knot.

I never thought Miley was pretty until she cut her hair, so I totally disagree. I love the last picture, the old one of her with Liam, when her hair was short.

While I agree that Eddie Murphy has made some truly terrible movies, I think his career is more akin to Adam Sandler’s where he had a series of movies that did well many years ago and is on the downslope of his career. Whereas Liam is in the beginning of his career with no track record (other than the hunger games..the success of which, to the extent it is due to an actor and not the books themselves, is prob attributable to JLaw’s popularity) yet he keeps getting leading roles of big budget films.
Also race got into the discussion because *GASP* I put it there. But, you know, let me know how that sand feels on your head.
Miley and Liam are basic together and they are basic apart but more tolerable at least. He is not good for her as she toned down her personality again (hair is growing longer again) and only hangs out with friends like Weaver and Coyne when she’s not with him indicating either she still doesn’t know who she is or she can’t be herself fully when with him. Her insta is toned down too.
From both of her last albums, you can hear he treated her like crap before their big break-up and when he’s ready to move on, he’ll gently ignore her again until she has to let him go again. She is borderline obsessed by his love for her even if it’s not the greatest type of love.
He definitely needs her as ID flopped although the movie as a whole was bad so critiquing him alone would be unfair. He’s just not leading man material especially with weak material. He’s still referred to as a Hunger Games actor or Miley’s boyfriend which doesn’t bode well for his career or image. These people are so fragile and I hope Miley doesn’t bite the dust again when he thinks he’s too good for her. It annoys me that he can say she has ‘more baggage’ and that people figured out their relationship but can’t even acknowledge her properly as his girlfriend. It annoys me more that she wants to settle with this type of man instead of working through her issues.

This is how I have always felt about these two. Liam is very serious (takes himself seriously) and low key and Miley is very much a people person with a side of attention seeking. It’s how she grew up. She seemed very reserved when they were together before and is back at it again. I think her personality during their break up was the real her turned up to 11. Liam is not ok with a partner who is more famous than him and rides around on giant penises. She changed back to keep him happy. I think they were still in contact during the break up and she is making concessions to get him back and keep him.
It seems like she rotates new animals in every few months. What ever happened to that cute Persian kitten she wasn’t properly cleaning?
I totally forgot about that in my earlier comment about the quality care pets get in her home. :/ And she did Instagram photos of herself with some nasty cat scratches a few months ago. Ugh.
Right? I want to like her but the animal hoarding is just one of many red flags for me when it comes this girl.
Barbie is a rescue from the Beagle Freedom Project, a group that saves beagles that are used in animal testing research labs. Beagles are top choice because of their trusting personality. Beagles in “the wild” follow their nose anywhere and live to dig and bray. These beagles have never felt grass under their feet or a bed to snuggle in or had someone scratch their bellies. BFP is one of my charities of choice, having grown up with field champion beagles, and I give to them when I can! I can’t stand her, but I can not fault her love of animals.
I’m usually cynical but for some reason, I want to root for these two. I couldn’t tell you why. I just want things to work for them.
