Jennifer Lopez celebrated her 47th birthday this past weekend in Vegas. She kicked off the celebration on Saturday night with a sold-out performance of her show “Jennifer Lopez: All I Have” at Caesar’s Palace. Some of the celebrities in attendance included Cristiano Ronaldo, L.A. Reid, Iggy Azalea and John Stamos.
After the show, Jennifer slipped into a skin tight brown Balmain jumpsuit that left little too the imagination, revealing lots of skin through sheer cutout panels. She posted a pic of the ensemble on her Instagram with the caption, “About last night…Pre birthday turn up!” Jennifer was greeted backstage with a birthday cake, presented by Kim Kardashian, who regards Jennifer as her “idol”. Joining her were Khloe’s ex, rapper French Montana, and newly single Calvin Harris. Kim filmed Jennifer blowing out the candles and giving a smooch to boyfriend Casper Smart and posted it to Snapchat.
French Montana posted a pic with Kim, Calvin and the birthday girl to Instagram with Calvin Snapchatted video dancing with Jennifer outside her Caesar’s Palace villa. (This was where they held the after party.) It sure looks like a great time was had by all. And to think I just went to a brunch at our local watering hole for my 47th. Apparently my villa was occupied that day.
I think Jennifer has a great body, and, being 47 myself, I admire the work she’s (obviously) put into looking so great. That being said, I am not a fan of the jumpsuit. First off, let’s talk about the color. Brown? Really? It strikes me as a little bland. I’m also not a fan of having so many cutouts. I’m all about leaving a little something to the imagination, but judging by Jennifer’s past wardrobe choices, this is pretty much covered up for her. I do love the hair, makeup and shoes though. I am a sucker for a neutral pump. You just keep doing you, Jen – and happy birthday, diva.

I remember back around 2008 or somthing when she came out for her comeback after a sebatical with that dangling fabric between her thighs to hide that she wasnt in her famous shape, but she had kids and was lounging in paradise. I didn’t need glasses until I was about her age. Maybe that’s what’s happening here. That is one ugly outfit.
I’ve worn glasses since I was 12 (will be 40 soon, eeee) and yeah, I felt like taking them off when I saw that outfit. Not good.

She looks so damn good but I reckon it’s a combination of about 50 % really fricken hard work, 40 % genetics and 10 % her cosmetic surgeon. She is a goddess and looks better now than 20 years ago!
Mostly genetics I think. She’s the beauty of the family, but her mom and sisters have amazing skin and good bodies too. Add working out and a good dermatologist on top of that and she’s got the golden ticket.
It’s because we are latinas. I swear. My mom is a freaking VAMPIRE, she’s 70 and looks 50 MAX. We are also puerto rican, which Jenny is, and I look very similar to her except I have dimples. I think there is some saying I heard once when I was carded -“The beige don’t age”. HAHA. I’m 40 and NO ONE can believe it. I used to get asked if I was my kids nanny ALL of the time, and I was in my late 20’s then.
If you add good self care, lots of water, I don’t think she ever drank or did drugs, she recently became a vegan, or close to one?, so all of that, plus her crazy discipline, that ALL helps her genetically blessed looks.
If I recall correctly (coming in with about 75% certainty, my brain is flatulent this morning), Leah Remini, who is good friends with J-Lo, said in her book Troublemaker, that J-Lo doesn’t drink alcohol and is admiringly healthy. I mean, if that IS the case, J-Lo is the poster child for living “clean.” She looks sensational.
LoL, J Lo is always too much and her outfits are almost always horrid. But she gets away with it because of that amazing body. So to sum up, she looks great but bad all at once 🙂
I think JLo looks fabulous and she is a true hustler. But, man, has she stepped on a lot of people’s backs to get where she is now. There’s an interesting article discussing all the songs she’s stolen and one of her hits was actually sung by Ashanti while JLo lipsynched over it. I dare say she is the original TS? Dated only celebrities and all her songs are about her exes.
Questionable group she’s hanging here. Like, why is Calvin Harris there? And can anyone name a French Montana song? She looks wonderful though. So amazing for 47.
There was also the convenient pairing. Want some urban cred to establish your rnb based pop career; date a hip-hop mogul. Want to cultivate a more sophisticated image; date a major Hollywood actor. If both industries laugh you out of town, pander to the Latinos and for that you may need to marry the king of Latino pop. Once your empire is established run around with the dancer kids you have really wanted all along. Jlos bs was well known until her idol days which basically allowed her to hit the reset button. Biggest PR coup in Hollywood…possibly of all time.

There are so many ways to look much sexier and classier than having to stuff yourself into a brown cutout catsuit. It’s just so awful, I don’t care how great her body looks. Okay that’s a lie, I love her body and dedication to it.
But why at the age of 47 does she have to still try so hard to be sexy? maybe sexy and sophisticated would be better? I think form fitting clothes that leave much to the imagination while spelling it all out is the best way to go. Sexiness is what’s inside of a person, and usually isn’t reflected in their clothing. “Sexy” clothes have a tendency to look tacky and garish.

I disagree. She’s not desperate and not trying too hard to be sexy past her time because this is authentic. That’s Jennifer, that’s her style. And nobody can say she she doesn’t have the body for this anymore and therefore looks ridiculous.

My EXACT thought when I imagined someone who continues to try and be sexy WELL past her prime. Celine Dion was someone who took the other end, but she never rode on being sexy, did she?
Hmmm. Can I even name a pop star entertainer who doesn’t have the strongest voice and made it being sexy and transitioned into something else as they aged? I’m not sure I can. I feel they all use the same trick even as they are well into their 40’s.

I like her and think she’s a fantastic dramatic actress, but she seems insecure. Everyone knows she has a great body…nothing to prove…it’s hideous and way too much.

I’ve seen her shopping at Merrick Park (Miami) no makeup, hair in a messy pony tail, and her skin was better than mine has ever been in my entire life. She’s more than 20 years older than me too 😢

I despise when people are told what they can and can’t wear based on their age. Yes, some things look too “girlish” but being told you can’t wear a mini or a bikini even if you have the body for it is ridiculous. That being said, this outfit is hideous, but she’s never been known for her fashion sense. Still, it would look bad on anyone–she’s obviously gorgeous.
She has a bangin’ body, beautiful skin and great doctors but her style is always so cheap and unflattering.
Someone needs to inform Balmain that the bib look is not good. Looks like J-Lo was planning to eat lobster naked but put on a bib and lap napkin for melted butter protection.

Don’t much like her. Don’t think I ever will but I she is undeniably beautiful and her body is ah-mazing. That body suit might be tacky but if I was 47 and looked like her, I might have NO CHILL about showing off too. As long as the girls are contained, not flooping all over the place and I can’t actually see your hoo-hah you’re okay with me.

Jennifer Lopez is an inspiration to all women who work hard to stay fit and healthy after 40. She’s got a boyfriend 17/18 years younger than she is and she still rocks it. You go girl. Her boyfriend obviously sees something more than “age” in his love for her. How inspiring. Men date women half their age all time, so total respect for JLo for keeping the love going regardless of age. She’s a beautiful person inside and out.
