Tom Hiddleston is back to playing Loki in a Marvel film after a four-year absence, if we’re counting filming on The Dark World and NOT counting a cameo in The Avengers: Age of Ultron which didn’t make the final cut. No one knows if Tom’s part in Thor: Ragnarok is substantial or just a glorified cameo or what. I suspect that Tom’s part is decent-sized, and I also suspect that in light of everything that’s gone down this summer, the Summer of the Glorious Tiddlebanging, Tom is actually relieved to be back on the set of a beloved franchise. Even more relieved that Taylor Swift hasn’t followed him back to the Australian set and he can work in peace.
Still, there’s been some theorizing about how Tom’s costars have reacted to the Glorious Tiddlebanging. I suspect that many of Tom’s friends don’t know what the hell is going on with him. But dudes being dudes, there’s probably a lot of ribbing and joking going on. So, as I mentioned in an earlier post, Tom has joined Instagram and posted his first-ever photo. So Tom’s friend Robert Downey Jr. decided to welcome him to Instagram… in the best way ever.
Oh, that’s just brilliant. Perhaps Tom’s “I Heart T.S.” t-shirt really was about Tony Stark this whole time! So… is this shade? Is it just joking around? Or is it just sort of brilliant?

Once seen it can never be unseen! All credit to LadyLoo. It’s RDJ code for “We’ve seen what you’ve been up to, you idiot”. It’s pure shade, and perfect even down to the awful unflattering blurry picture.
Do people not know the difference between shade and ‘piss-taking’? Correct me if I’m wrong, but piss-taking is giving someone a hard time, making jokes or laughing at someone but is still meant in good fun – not malicious. Whereas shade is a sideways or passive aggressive way of taking a shot at someone you don’t like or are enemies with, hence all the celebrity shade throwing feuds on social media. It’s meant as a spiteful slight.
As far as I know, RDJ does Not shade people, certainly not his fellow colleagues. He doesn’t waste his time feuding with celebrities on social media either. He gives people shit or takes the piss out on them, and he wouldn’t do that to people unless he had a good relationship with them. Just sayin.
