Despite rumors to the contrary, Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift are still BFFs. Taylor’s relationships with the other squad members may come and go depending on the photo-op, but her friendship with Karlie seems solid. They were together two weekends ago at Karlie’s birthday party in the Hamptons, and Karlie was also at Tay’s Independence Day party.
The rumors of a BFF-breakup really began swirling earlier this year, when Karlie made an appearance at Kanye West’s NYFW show, the same show where he debuted the song “Famous”… the song about Taylor Swift. While Tay-Tay the Snake Emoji was lying up a storm about how Kanye had never spoke to her about the lyric, Karlie stayed quiet. It was almost as if she didn’t want to publicly choose sides. The same thing happened when Kim Kardashian showed the receipts – while some of Taylor’s squad rushed to defend her, Karlie didn’t say a word publicly. Is it possible that Karlie was always firmly Team Snake Emoji but she only supported Taylor behind the scenes. It’s also possible that Karlie really doesn’t give a sh-t about Taylor’s latest Mean Girl theatrics. Karlie was asked directly about Kim Kardashian and her answer is very… interesting.
Squad member Karlie Kloss has remained quiet on a certain subject ever since the #KimExposedTaylorParty broke out a few short weeks ago. Now, Karlie is finally ready to talk but since she’s still has a squad membership card, her words remain drama-free.
In a new interview with the Sunday Times Style magazine, Karlie was asked if she thinks Kim Kardashian is a “good person.”
“Ha … you know … I honestly … I … I … I think she’s been a lovely person to me in the past. Look, I really don’t know her that well.”
The magazine also asked Karlie who her closest friends are. She left all her actual friends out of this one: “My closest friends, really, are my sisters and my mum.”
When her squad was brought up again, she gave this very general comment: “My friends are kind, caring, thoughtful people. I think that’s what draws everyone in the group together. We are all very supportive of each other. We’re a big network of really great friends who all have very international schedules and lives. We try to get together as much as possible, even if we’re all travelling in different places.”
What I hear is someone who doesn’t want to get involved. Karlie might not even like Kim or Kanye that much, but she wants to make it clear that she has no personal beef with Kim. But I’m worried that Taylor is going to be really upset with Karlie’s answer for her “closest friends.” Her mom and her sisters? NO TAY-TAY? Buuurn. That’s it. Add Karlie’s name to Taylor’s sh-t list. We’re going to need a bigger Sh-t List notebook, you guys.

In the entertainment industry, I wouldn’t have any of my closest friends be anyone famous either. You probably never know who’s going to be there for you at your highs and lows. And given how image-conscious Taylor is, I’d say she’s a fairweather friend that would probably only help you during a bad time if it could bolster her PR.

Agree. She is way more mature than Taylor and answered the questions in an honest and diplomatic manner. Very good manners IMO. At the end of the day her true supporters will always be her family. Kim has been nice to her in the past so she has no personal beef with her. Taylor is kind to her and fun to hang out with when she has free time in her schedule.
Drama-free interview. She gets major respect points from me for her maturity. She will last long in the industry.

Or, Karlie has a lucrative contract with Adidas, and doesn’t want to piss off her boss by speaking negatively about one of their business partners. Her entire career is based off of being beautiful (fleeting) and pleasant to work with.
Karlie is growing on me. I had this impression of her being a Mean Girl as well, for some reason. Maybe it was just because of her resemblance with Taylor. But no, she seems like a nice person, and I don’t blame her for not wanting to get involved in the whole thing.

Karlie Kloss is one of the few current models that deserve, and will receive, supermodel status. Girl looks pretty and unassuming but she’s fierce in print and on the runway, which is why she’s been relevant for like a decade.

Trying to make a story where there isn’t one. Karlie probably doesn’t want to be attacked by rabid fans. I would keep my mouth shut too if I was her. People are over the top on social media. You are allowed one opinion- and that’s the opinion of the moment or all hell breaks loose and you get attacked. So she has nothing to gain by saying anything negative. However I love how we are still on the Taylor is a snake, even though one of the biggest snakes called her out. Umm. Ok. I am a Kaylor truther. I still believe they had a thing going but Karlie was genuine about it while Swifty was half-in, half-out, waiting for a boyfriend. Notice how Karlie is always embracing Taylor and interacting with her, while Taylor is focusing on the camera.

Girl, me too. If you really look into it, this isn’t the first girl Taylor has been linked to. One of her musicians in her first tour got fired because rumor has it her and Taylor were caught in a compromising position, Taylor then wrote an apologetic song out it. Then her and Diana Argon were super tight, now they’re not even friends. I once fell down a gay Taylor tumblr account rabbit hole and learned more than I needed to.
Karlie had a boyfriend over a year before she even met Taylor, and shes still with him now.
I think Karlie and Taylor had a PR relationship (like tay and her squad) and people began taking it too seriously and ‘shipping it”, (young teenagers nowadays ship everything, look at Larry), so Karlie and Taylor cooled it off. There’s a serious fetishization of same sex couples nowadays, even if two people barely know each other teens will ship them together. Its creepy.

Honestly, her answers are very smart. She’s a model. She needs to be friendly and needs to be in everyone’s good graces. Piss off one wrong person and then all of a sudden ten designers don’t want to work with you and you’re not getting anymore runway work or contracts to splatter your face everywhere.

Honestly, I like Karlie’s friendship with her other BFF and birthday twin Jourdan Dunn much more. They have described one another as tight as sisters in past interviews. You can tell those girls have been through thick and thin together and really support one another. Karlie always supports Jourdan especially with how people judged her about having her son. Jourdan always supports Karlie with her computer coding. Too bad, the media always tries to make out that Taylor and Karlie have the strongest and truest friendship. Theirs seems vapid and superficial at best in comparison.
