Jared, please go away. No one cares about anything you say. BYE.

  2. Shambles says:

I can see where he’s coming from. I think he was made to believe his part in the movie was going to be much greater than it was, and he was blindsided. He’s a famous actor and musician so I’m not that worried about him, he’ll be okay. But I can understand why he feels a little duped.

    • Betti says:

I would be too considering Cara ‘the worst model and actress’ D’s part was bigger than the Joker who would have been a better villain. Maybe one of the reasons the movie is a mess as maybe the changed who the villain was – i know a few people wonder why they even bothered to feature the Joker as not only was he underused but his plot line was ‘what’. Someone i know said it felt like the character was just there to pull the punters in. The trailers and marketing featured him more than the Enchantress, the actual villain.

      • Shambles says:

Yeah… Cara was gratingly bad and I actually really liked JL’s joker. He was sexy in a really f*cked up way.

    • burnsie says:

Same. This kind of explains his OTT antics

  3. Sam says:

What part of “superhero action movie” and “artsy” go together? Like, ever?

  4. PaschaP says:

You still cashed that DC check though didn’t you, Honka Honka?

I always get the feeling Jared is probably an A-grade creep irl.

    • Lynnie says:

Best friends with Uncle Terry and there have been an increasing amount of rumors with him and underage groupies

      • Zuzus Girl says:

Yea, anyone who hangs with Richardson is a grade A creep and probably abusive as well.

      • PaschaP says:

Yikes, thanks for the info Lynnie! I knew about the Uncle Terry connection (hence why I assumed he was probably a creep), but I’d never heard about those underage groupie rumours. Gross.

  5. Miss Grace Jones says:

I truly am baffled regarding the hype around this man’s looks.

    • Locke Lamora says:

I saw Requiem For A Dream again recently ( I love that movie) and he was beautiful. He really was. But now I just can’t look past the creep factor.

      • gwen says:

Great movie with amazing acting but really hard to watch.

      • Betti says:

Amazing movie – the cast all gave exceptional performances. The ending (and THAT music) always gets me every time – so sad.

      • Zuzus Girl says:

Once was enough for me on that movie. Fantastic performances all around but probably one of the most soul crushing movies I’ve ever seen. I’d rather have fire ants crawling all over me than have to watch that again. He was beautiful but he has always been arrogant and now he’s downright icky.

    • justme says:

I find him extremely unattractive and don’t think he’s that great an actor. And he’s creepy.

    • Lyka says:

Yeah, but he’s 44 years old and has the skin of a 25 year old elf-man. And last year his shiny ombre hair was to die.

  6. Anahit says:

Bet if it’d been critically acclaimed he’d be insisting he was some sort of unofficial, but very much relied upon, artistic director. Tool.

  7. Marty says:

    He’s such a damn baby.

  8. pikawho? says:

Jared looks like he’s touching his peen in that last picture, ick. And he’s obviously trying to save face after his part was apparently edited down.

Jack Huston just makes me think of his Boardwalk Empire character Richard Harrow and my heart breaks all over again. Then I think of the Paul F Tompkins podcast impersonation of Harrow and I get better.

    • Deedee says:

I thought the same thing about that photo.

    • JustCrimmles says:

Never watched Boardwalk Empire, but I love PFT, so *high five! * 😉

      • pikawho? says:

PFT is one of my comedian crushes, hilarious and has damn good taste in suits.

I highly recommend watching at least season 1 of Boardwalk. It gets pretty slow as the series goes on but its really a fascinating look at the whole 1920-30s gangster lifestyle. Plus costume porn galore!

  9. Lucy says:

Something happened yesterday morning: Justified was on TV (my dad loves it), I took one look at Mr Olyphantastic and thought…what if he had been the Joker. Just dropping this out here.

  10. Jade says:

I felt tricked into thinking he might be a decent joker, guess we all get screwed Leto

  11. Morning Coffee says:

    Oh shut up, Jared.

  12. pinetree13 says:

To be honest, I didn’t mind his portrayal of the Joker. I was expecting to hate it but I actually liked it. Except for his “joker laugh”. His Joker laugh is terribly forced sounding. I saw the Suicide Squad movie recently though so I’d been reading so much hate I was expecting it to be super horrible but I actually enjoyed it. It’s definitely cheesy and I can definitely see why fans were disappointed. They should have made it an adult movie (there were 6 year olds in the theatre I was at! It’s rated PG!) It should have been darker. But since they are doing a Harley Quinn spin-off I do hope actually that Jared is the joker in that version. I thought they had good chemistry.

    • Lise says:

Yes! I thought the same. I enjoyed his role although it was small. I do think they should have given him more screen time, regarding WB advertisement strategy concerning his character. I don’t get the hate on him. His joker will never be the same as previous ones because it’s a completely new angle they are coming from, that includes new characters and time scale (He’s younger in SS I would imagine? And is in a relationship) I believe he has the potential to be darker and grittier. Fingers crossed.

  13. Neelyo says:

He looks like the gatekeeper to Oz in that last photo.

  14. lunchcoma says:

Ugh. Jared, I’m pretty sure Margot Robbie and Viola Davis and Will Smith also thought it was going to be a better movie. Sometimes things don’t work out like you hoped they would. That doesn’t mean any one of you were tricked. It’s one of the risks you take getting in on the ground floor of a series rather than waiting for the first one to come out before deciding you want to be associated with it.

  15. HoustonGrl says:

    Such a poser.

  16. Marianne says:

I mean, I can’t say I blame him too much if there was so much stuff he filmed for it that was never used. But I mean, the movie was called “Suicide Sqaud” not Joker, I never expected for him to play a major part in it.

As for his portrayl…it was pretty decent. Like, I thought he nailed some of the mannerisms, but Idk…I think I just didnt like the take on him being more of a gangster. And some scenes were just silly to me like the painted smile on his hands that he would put in front of his mouth or the scene where he was laughing in a circle of knives that also featured some baby clothes (I mean…why). Harley and Deadshot were easily the best in that movie.

As for the movie overall, it was pretty fun but overall just a mess. The potential was there though and the cast had good chemistry.

  17. Norman Garza says:

Hay at least people showed up to see the movie right.

  18. kay says:

Why are people on here bashing him. Warner Bros used the Joker as a primary marketing tool for Suicide Squad. Watch the trailers agin. One of the trailers had the warner bros logo moving to the Jokers laugh, it is still on you tube. My teenage sons wanted to see this movie because of the Joker. The info put out by the studio and david ayer was that the joker had as much as 40 min screen time and it was cut to under 7 min. If you don’t like Leto or his role as Joker than that is perfectly fine but he has a valid point. The Joker was used to generate attn for the movie.

    • Kate says:

The trailers I saw hardly had the joker in them.

      • kay says:

The trailers are still on you tube. There are several. They used the Joker as a main marketing tool. Watch them again

    • G says:

People are hating on him because he’s a sub-par actor that sent a fetal pig to Will Smith. He’s rumored to hookup with underaged fans. He’s an established jerk. An established jerk who pulled a ton of crap for a movie he was barley in.

  19. Rhiley says:

Who isn’t a fan of Say Anything?

    • Juls says:

No one. It’s not possible. Classic Cusack at his best. And Ione Skye was so beautiful. Sigh…..

  20. Cara says:

There must be a painting of Jared Leto somewhere that’s aging…cause homeboy sure isn’t! 😒

  21. eggy weggs says:

Can I brag for a moment? I knit dolls inspired by celebrities and characters. I knit a Richard Harrow doll and apparently Jack Huston found photos of it on Instagram and reposted it. It was a really nice, completely unexpected shout-out. He seems like a cool dude and I am excited for even more from him.

  22. The Original Mia says:

How does one get tricked into doing a superhero movie? It’s based on a comic. Did he think they were making an arthouse movie? Give me a break, Jared. He’s just pissed the Joker wasn’t center stage, which…duh. The movie was never about him. I mean…seriously…the whole premise is anti-heroes saving the day & becoming heroes. In all the years of his existence, the Joker has never been portrayed as an anti-hero or some misunderstood wooby. He never should have been included in this movie and should have been saved for a Harley Quinn solo movie, where she beats his a$$ for being an abusive jerkwad to her.

    • kay says:

He was probably pitched a arthouse movie and thats why he did the movie. He stated very clearly he liked nolans movie version(rolling stone interview) and he probably was told that was what he could expect. You are right that the suicide wasn’t about the joker but he was included to get people interested in the movie and yes the way they cut down his role they should have just left him out. I would be pissed off as well.

  23. ImFlying says:

Jared, at least the film has all the required occultist symbolism you love. You still have time, while you have the breath in your lungs, that YHWH gave you. You can still ask Jesus to be your savior, and turn your life completely around. You could be an inspiration, you would be happy…make that joyful. And you would be blessed beyond measure. Just sayin’.
PS. Nice “Hidden Hand” gesture. Except, it is supposed to be at your chest, but you knew that. I guess you are either cool or slick. You can try, but you are not a member dude. Just another puppet.

  24. Moon says:

Kylie Jenner social media star? Is that a thing now? Someone save me from what our world has become

  25. anon says:

He IS a creep irl. I know someone (who is on television herself) who was ‘scouted’ by once of his people at a 30 seconds to Mars show. She went with them and there was a bunch of other girls who had also been called in and JL was going to ‘pick’ from them. Obviously she instantly was like urgh and walked out. Her friend who was with her was on her phone in a corridor and one point and JL walked past and screamed at her for being on her phone in his presence. He’s great as the joker…probably because the part isn’t that much of a stretch for him.

    • Lara says:

This isn’t a new thing with celebrities and musicians though! Men and women celebrities do it all the time… They pick out faces they like and meet them, for many many reasons.
I went to a comedian show in London when I was younger and Russell Brand wanted to meet me, so I went with his people and met him! He’s a very intelligent man and for reasons (not going into any detail) we ended up friends and to this day we still text and sometimes meet up with mutual friends.
I know this may not always be the case with a lot of girls, but hey it depends who the celebrity is! Just saying.

      • Brandy Armstrong says:

Ok I just have to say I’m so jealous of you 🤓 I adore RB (especially since we share the same milestone of sobriety years). I’ve always thought he was awesome & glad to see I was right lol!!

  26. holly hobby says:

Well he read the script, didn’t he? It’s not like he blindly signed off and didn’t know what the story was about. Quite frankly I was turned off by the whole premise of this movie. Who wants to watch a bunch a criminals? They were all creepy looking in this movie.

  27. Umila says:

I think it’s pure art in that last picture…Wtf is his hand doing? Is he giving himself a congratulatory shake?

  28. Mischa says:

I think the missing “artsyness” was not the problem of suicide squad. The problems were the villain (cara delevingne sucks and so does her character) and because of that the big fight was kinda meh. The rest was pretty watchable. I certainly dont understand why the movie has 26% on rotten tomatoes and i usually agree with their scores.
I actually agree that had there been more Joker and less Enchantress, the movie wouldve been just fine. Jareds Joker was good.
