Hillary Clinton did a great job on ‘Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis’

Controversial opinion: I generally think the “Between Two Ferns” thing goes on for too long. Like, it’s a funny bit and it shows off Zach Galifianakis’ ironic-hipster comedy well, but I’m inevitably watching the videos thinking, “This would be much funnier as a four-minute piece rather than an eight-minute piece.” And that’s mostly because of Galifanakis, sorry not sorry. That being said, Zach’s interview with Pres. Obama is close to classic, and it makes sense that these folks would have wanted Hillary Clinton to do a BTF bit. Why did Hillary agree? Because of millennials. She’s worried about millennials and she needs to meet millennials where they live: with ironic hipster videos. Here’s the video:

What’s great about this is that Hillary Clinton finally gets it. I feel like an a—hole for saying it, but Hillary is such a high-achieving woman and she often comes across like… Anne Hathaway. The goody-goody, the girl who always has her hand raised. But she gets it, so she was able to show off her comedy styling here and I actually laughed several different times. I laughed at “first white president” and the email thing at the end. Hillary does a great “straight man” to Galifianakis. Also: this was apparently filmed on the same day she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She looks tired, but otherwise her performance is flawless.

Dear millennials: please vote. PLEASE. For the love of God.

  3. QQ says:

“First Girl President” made me Blurt Out a Cackle… “what if you get pregnant are we stuck with Tim Kaine for 9 Months?” “Michelle Obama Wrote Melania’s Vows” *deeeaaadd*

  4. Jayna says:

Cute. The Trump ad during her interview was classic.

  5. Who ARE These People? says:

Every time I see her lately I’m reassured somehow, and that didn’t use to happen.

I hope she becomes much more visible in the weeks ahead and am very much looking ahead to next Monday night’s debate. Watch, people, watch!

    • Jayna says:

The bar is set so high for Hillary in the debates, and the bar is set so low for Trump. As Ed Rogers, a Republican campaign consultant for past presidents, said, “Trump has to just not be an idiot.” Sad, but true. That’s how low the bar is set for him, and people will be satisfied.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

I think his existing supporters will be satisfied, so it’s up to whatever people are still on the fence. It’s hard to imagine who could be on the fence at this point; you really have to have been influenced by decades of the right-wing vendetta against Clinton.

I’ll give them one thing and one thing only: They correctly assessed her to be the woman who could go the distance for the White House.

And I’ll give her credit for doing it.

REGISTER and vote. Deadlines start in early October. You can share this registration tool created by the non partisan League of Women Voters:

My husband (solidly for Clinton) had a coworker say she was on the fence. As he didn’t want to get too too at work, he just kept trying to rationally explain things, like why the Skittles analogy was bad, and just… I think she felt safe since she assumed a white male would be totally Trump. Who is on the fence? And why is Trump polling anywhere near Clinton?

      • EM says:

I’ve been saying this for weeks. I think it will be like the Kennedy-Nixon debate we so often hear about. He’s good at manipulating the press and will look strong and she will come off as too serious and shifty. Trust me I’d really love to be wrong about this and will not be able to watch the debate or listen to recaps. I have never been more stressed about an election than this year.

    • Anname says:

I hope she makes Trump look ridiculous in the debates.

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

She will. The outcome could be no other way, though he will do his best to interrupt and shout over her.

      • doofus says:

“he will do his best to interrupt and shout over her.”

which is why he wants no moderators. “just the two of us, sitting and talking, debating…”

This millennial is voting! We just moved from FL to CO, and we seriously considered delaying our address and license transfer so we could still vote in FL. Hillary’s going to take CO, but it’s not looking so sure in FL, and I lived through Bush/Gore there. I’m absolutely terrified.

    • mia girl says:

Not that you asked, but I say delay.
It’s going to be really close so we HRC supporters in FL need all the votes we can get!

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Heck, we’re doing whatever we can to help elderly relatives in Florida hang on …just hang on. After Nov. 8th you can let nature take its course…LOL.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Florida has a history of voter list purging so make sure you are still registered there,

  7. mia girl says:

FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING – PLEASE VOTE PEOPLE!

  8. adastraperaspera says:

Pantsuits Unite! The questions aptly expose the sexism brought out in this campaign. I don’t know why anyone even bothers to ask why the polls are close. The white cheerleaders and frat boys who supported Reagan are fighting tooth and nail against the nerd female leadership that shoved them out of the spotlight in the 90s. We can’t just blame this on the working class racists/sexists alone, however noxious they may be.

  9. Ninks says:

I’m nor American so I don’t have a vote but I do live on thus planet so the results matter to me as much as every other living person. So, please vote. And please don’t give Jill Stein your protest vote. Gore lost Florida by a couple of hundred votes and Florida won Bush the electoral college.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Jill Stein is not worth a protest vote, nor is Gary Johnson. If they don’t see the danger presented by their campaigns, they’re not working for democracy in the United States.

  10. JK3 says:

This millennial is voting. I was voting D before this campaign (The republican approach to LGBT rights has tainted that party for me.), but Trump’s “farcical outreach to black voters to reach suburban women” has left me enraged. Did you see him and about 3 other white guys grinning and giggling while Don King was dropping the “N-bomb” in front of a mostly white crowd yesterday? King wasn’t even telling a joke. It was a rather serious point that as a PoC, no matter what you do, you will always be a PoC, which is confounding since he endorsed the guy who ran a racist crusade to delegitimize President Obama. And then to add another racist cherry on top, he called for a nationwide “stop and frisk” policy on the black community. That would subject every AA to search and seizure whenever a police officer feels like it. If I wasn’t voting before that, I am definitely voting now.

And don’t get me started on him saying that we, African Americans, are at a worse point now than we have ever been.

  11. Nopity Nope says:

I’m with her. And her pantsuits.

  13. Jessica says:

LOL! I love how personable she is becoming lately it’s like she’s taking cue’s from President Obama on how to connect really well with a broader audience. I wasn’t sure about her but I like what I am seeing lately 🙂

    • Who ARE These People? says:

She became much more guarded after the right-wing attacks began and then her husband’s then-disgraceful behavior in the White House. I think she has realized she has to “go for broke” at this point and be real again.

    • tracking says:

Agreed, hope we see much more of this Hillary and much less of the yelling, snarky version.

  14. Hallie Hanson says:

    White power tie! *dead*

    • LannisterForever says:

Yeah, that and the line about “any boys that might have a crush on her? Like her father?” had me crying with laughter.

  15. Jezi says:

I’ve always loved her. She deserves to be president and she deserves the opportunity to break that glass ceiling for every young woman out there. My heart will literally be broken if we don’t make history here. Especially now when the other candidate is such a frightening thought.

  16. Cora says:

Ah, thanks for posting this! I will be very proud to vote for Hillary. I’m going to take advantage of early voting in my state. I’m that desperate to get my vote in and counted! Trump must be stopped.

  17. PunkyMomma says:

I’m donning my old power pantsuit when I go vote for HRC.

    Please, people, vote!

  18. CharlotteCharlotte says:

    I’m with her!

  19. Rose of Sharon says:

Why would you ask young people to vote for a warmonger, liar and criminal?

  20. AnotherDirtyMartini says:

I’m DEFINITELY with her! It’s insulting that she has to run against such an utter nimrod.
