It’s nothing new to hear that there are some shockingly entitled celebrities out there. But it’s always surprising to hear the way that they openly, recklessly, and carelessly flaunt the simplest and most obvious rules. Like paying for your meal. A lot of celebrities assume their meals will be comped when they eat out. Which I find to be pretty infuriating. It’s incredibly gracious of a restaurant if they choose to do that, but it shouldn’t be assumed. And generally speaking the etiquette is to leave an enormous tip as a thank you to the server and staff. But what does someone famous do when the enormous bill comes and it hasn’t been comped? Just walk the hell out of the restaurant, if you’re Dennis Rodman. Or leave your friends to deal with it.
THE night after Dennis Rodman and his entourage reportedly walked out on a $1,000 bill at the Gansevoort South in Miami — a claim he denied — the former NBA great and 10 friends pulled the same trick at restaurant Philippe at the same hotel, Page Six has learned. “He was so wasted he couldn’t carry a sentence,” said one witness.
After consuming $1,500 worth of food and drinks, “Dennis sneaks, or I should say stumbled, out of the restaurant. Then, his friends start leaving . . . until the manager picked up on it and presented the bill to the last three guests at the table.” After many phone calls, and the arrival of police, the bill was paid. Rodman’s rep did not return our call.

Talk about pure class. Never let it be said that just because he’s not relevant anymore, Dennis Rodman isn’t just as tacky and disgusting as ever. Just a month ago Rodman was kicked out of the London Hotel in West Hollywood for slapping and groping women. He’s been in rehab multiple times, though it clearly hasn’t taken. Rodman was also kicked off “Celebrity Apprentice” for his behavior. Why doesn’t this kind of stuff ever catch up with him? There’s no word on what happened to the $1,000 bill. But I’m guessing those friends that had to cover the $1,500 probably don’t have as much money as Rodman. Or maybe they do – considering he’s otherwise so careless, it wouldn’t be surprising to learn he’s reckless with money too. Maybe he’s skipping out on bills because he can’t afford to pay them.
Wouldn’t it be mind boggling if Dennis Rodman were in the news once –just once – for doing something good? You know, instead of drinking, walking out on checks, and smacking women.

That is what I thought when reading the headline.

true all.
but… just because we know his name doesn’t mean he should have to foot the bill for the entire party. Celebs, of course, would go broke if they were expected to buy your dinner every time you were with them.
Not defending Rodman or the dine n dash. Just saying.
Nor should restaurants feel any need to comp a celeb’s bill. They could however comp mine. I promise I’d be much more appreciative.
